Still love the idea that ACAMS has to fire up the ol' dial-up internet to log on here and tell the Millennials and Zs to pay the domain bill.
Oh God- if no one else is getting these emails besides him, what happens when he falls over the piss pot and snaps his neck? How will we know?

Came in for my monthly log-in to see this.
GTM holds a special place in my heart as it was the first forum I signed up to. 'MouldyKingBash' was the second username I came up with after realising that 'kingweevil' didn't fit the forum. I still remember being back home at the sweet tender age of 9, sitting on my crap laptop, downstairs next to my parents, trying to work out how things worked in the game and on a forum.
10 years later and from the outside, it looks the same. Forum's visuals have barely changed, some of the same faces, mainly still focused on the same game. A lot of progress has been made under the hood, for sure and it's nice that people are still around.
In the grand scheme of things, if the GTM forum was to shut down, it wouldn't affect me in anyway. I've made friends on here that have broken the forum boundaries anyway- so much so I've seen them in real life multiple times. It would be sad to see a lot of archival stuff be lost, though.

did no one enter and signups are about to close ?
well it sounds like Nicky tried to but mouldy died so we are gonna have to track down GK
Classic meme. Nicky sent me two robots and one of them had CF. We went over this in RA2 Central. He then asked me if anything needed to be changed :P No one has sent me anything else. Reier has been the only one to message me about it and I still wish him all the best. I'm happy to go ahead and host it but I'ma need a few more bots to actually run something here.

How does this whole Parsec thing work? Seems like a lot of co-ordination and timezone issues.
Parsec works by linking peer-to-peer. In the tests that we've done, it works pretty well even cross-continent. Download Parsec which can be found here: https://parsecgaming.com/ (I seriously hope that none of you are still on XP, it's been nearly 2 decades. Please upgrade.) Once I share my PC via a link, you can join to it. I can then give you control of specific keys so that you can use your robot. To save bandwidth, instead of having everyone join at the same time, I might be able to stream it/record it simultaneously. We then rotate each 4 people in and out for each match. You pretty much have the just of it.
If we're able to run the same size tournaments in GMod that run on for longer, we can do it here. If you'd like to test Parsec and see how it works, @me in Discord and we can test it out.

Start sending in robots. Please make sure that you read all rules before building and then when you're sending in your robots.
IRL style builds are fine as long as they fit in with the DSL-S rule set.
I'd like meme'y stuff to be kept to a minimum. It's old now. Thanks.

" Today, BBEANS remains the biggest and some say most prestigious tournament." (found on the link) oh my
it really was, i haven't seen anything as much of a forum-wide event as BBEANS was
I feel like GTMCS was pretty big at the time.

Back by little demand, it's time for another Wheely Tag Tournament. You can thank Badnik for this one. Rules:Welcome to 2020, we use Parsec now. This is a two person per team tournament. Both members of the team will fight at the same time against the opposing team. You can find someone to pair with in this thread or the RA2 Central discord. Choose who you're with carefully. Remember that you're controlling your bots so pick a good driving buddy. Bots need to be received and accepted. The way you sign up is by having one of the members of the team messaging me with BOTH robots in a zip folder and the team name. Means less sorting my end. Make sure robots are both clearly labelled. Latest accepted DSL 2.2 version (all the packs etc.) This is a DSL Standard Tournament - Not looking for general IRL stuff here. All parts must not intersect unless you could feasibly weld them together. This is a decent read if you're new to this style: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/bbeans/index.htm 16 Entries - 8 Teams of 2. Lightweight. No custom components. No out-of-game modifications. No cheatbot2. No clusterbots. No CF. LuTze/RA2TT Arena with increased damaged on the saws. (Thanks Reier <3) 1 Restart per team if Havok. Hazards on. 3 Minute battles. Best of 3 battles to win the match. Sign-Ups:Team 1: Team 2: Team 3: Team 4: Team 5: Team 6: Team 7: Team 8: Send your bots to me on here or on Discord: Mr. Kinch#9001Happy building, you have until the 25th for final versions to be sent in. The tournament will commence on the 26th at 8 PM GMT. If you'd like to have a substitute driver if you cannot make it, that is fine. Please have it be someone who is not part of the tournament.

Oh damn, looks like this has been worked on a bit since last time. Nice one.
I'll get into it a little bit and see if I can host a test tournament or something.
Enter my tournament instead
You think I can build a robot in this day and age? Get out. I don't even build Garry's Wars bots anymore.
