Lmao yeah, it AGOD'd like a mother****er from the onset but after staring at it for 5 minutes I conceded that it was probably going to have bigger issues anyway. Didn't have much luck with pause.

I figured somebody else would take a crack at rectifying it but tbh it'd probably be more entertaining to watch as is.

I can('t) believe you've done this.

Got a fantastic laugh out of being handed it though.

Honestly the fact that this forum (and community in general) still exists after all of these years fills me with happiness whenever I decide to poke my head back in.

Man the lower weight classes feel like a whole new game in this conversion, he says building generic pop-ups and VS'.

Tite 5. Not entirely sure of the best weapon set up, still too new to Ironforge, I'm just pretty sure it isn't that. Could probably get more weapons on it with a better set up and drop to Tite 3 or something along with some of the armour panels I put on. I'd have used hexplates as weapon mounts but the blades drag too low and clip the floor then, could probably just raise the anchor tho, maybe.

Didn't expect the perm to be so powerful, absolutely plows everything it gets under.

Edit: Got it.

Dropped to Ti 1 and removed the rear plate to free up weight. Moved the anchor holding the perm up to the maximum height it could go and gained 2 knives out of it. Used my third ballast since even though they don't touch the ground the knives on hexplates were causing the front to freak out; now it's back to being stable and wedgy. Dead on weight limit again also, gotta love Ironforge for making that easier.

I mean, even though the drive is painfully slow, I'd imagine that the decent wheel base would allow it to turn on the spot relatively quickly. Since AI turns to face the opponent and then drives forward you'll probably be okay, you only need to point your front at them with a bot like that anyway, not chase them down. Likely gonna get shoved around all day tho, won't be able to pin much outside of the weapons drawing them inwards.

6
Eh, getting VB6 set up on windows 10 looks like more effort than it's worth as someone who's computer illiterate and would have no use for it other than the exporter, as great a tool as it is.

I think I've sussed the bot file now, thanks for the help. :P

7
Trying to find my way around the bot file.

Say I want to find the component IDs for my weapons so that my bot switches tactics upon being deweaponed, what value am I looking for exactly? Out of this for example:

Weapon
Components\dao40.txt
21
4
1
0 0 0
0 3.55271e-015 0 1
3.14159 0

Have I even segmented that properly? Took a stab in the dark. I think that's the Knife component in Ironforge? Who knows, confuzzled.

Discussion / Re: Will we ever get to see BBEANS again?

It feels like only yesterday I saw Flaming Whizzer annihilate everybody. Tfw.

RA3 BBEANS could be cool, but that's assuming they get the game on its feet and at this point I've lost all my trust in them.

Slamming my forehead against a meta I'm totally new to, but you can likely expect something from me at some point. Badger got me 99% of the way there telling me about the knives.

Tiny chassis' are a hard habit to break after so many years of cubes-with-anchors. Nice to see that empty space isn't always a bad thing anymore though.

In other news, FAST.

Too fast, it sucks. Ti 1. Does decent damage but engaging hyperdrive every time I press W makes it hard to get under anything, or stay in the arena for that matter. Gots to be trying all those motors out though. Dunno how I feel about dual burst popups, it's almost certainly not necessary at MW but it's kinda nice to teleport something to the ceiling when you fire the weapons.

Edit: Kept at it and ended up with this.

Ti 3. Two Die-hards beneath the ballasts, one on each side. Pretty sure it conforms to DSL-S. Has some issues with the DDT's being randomly ripped off even through the wedge although that's always going to happen unless I bring them inside the chassis but then it'd be totally generic; it's pretty much just a bad Enfilad3 as it is. Works well enough though and is pretty wedgy to boot, not to mention dead on 200.

Edit 2: Now with edgy skin.

Ta for the feedback. The amperage makes sense, I was wondering why the Ztek felt so limp. I wrongly assumed that the black batt provided twice as much everything as the nifty but I see now I misread and it's 10 amps short. Thank god double niftys have the same dimensions as a singular black batt, just swapped them out.

Yeah I noticed that everything seemed to be built like a brickhouse even if the damage seems so ludicrous compared to DSL/stock. Loving the fact that the lighter components allow for more freedom in the lower weight classes though, a lot more room for originality.

I take it all of the armours are deemed worthwhile if your weight allows? Not like DSL where it's pretty much just plastic 1/3 and Ti 1/3 iirc?

Or Stormwind, either or.

Steel 3 iirc and invertible, first thing I've built. Dunno how strict realism is here, the teeth clip the wheels a bit but not more than you could shorten them imo, only other options are blatantly an issue besides beaters which lift the wheels off the ground. No idea what parts are optimal or anything, good stuff.

Gdi, you really going to make me download and learn the Ironforge meta? :C So many ideas to be had with this. I might look at slapping some things together if I can figure it in a reasonable amount of time.

Maybe a blue snapper (as you're not using a wedge) would be better and add in a bigger battery?

Good to see something new from you though mate, you been quiet lately!
Just stack some more pinks in there, they're one of the easiest things to stack alongside anchors. A blue snapper probably wouldn't have the firing power, there's a reason they're only really used to eFFe and the like. :P

That said I second the notion, looks really neat. Nice to see you moving away from component freedom, too.

Ehh...

Tite 1.
Stupidly underpowered and as the Battlepack says, it will die with a minute left on the clock. Kinda need to change the frontal armour plates so that the teeth can reliably catch things but not sure if it's worth ruining the attractiveness. Is invertible, albeit somewhat slidey. Now would be a great time to be able to make a good wedge for once in my life seeing as it'll get annihilated by popups.

Edit: Could move the piglet forward a bit too I suppose.

Edit II: Went ahead and remade it since it sucked nomatter what I did with it. Expanded the chassis to add a second Battlepack so it lasts the full 3 minutes, lucked out on the wedges and all of a sudden it does things now.

Gloriously edgy too, just need a skin idea for it now. Ti 1. Isn't really invertible but it can right itself if it lands back down, and the spinner keeps it from being counted out if it lands on its front. Doesn't pick things up as such with only one face spinner but in the event that something finds itself on top the skirts do a good job of keeping it there. Just a shame the Astro drive kinda lets it down.

Ey-yo. Poking head back in here in case I decide to build more things.

Posting this in the meantime more as a question than a showcase:

Getting back into building and learning the DSL 2.2 ropes so to speak, why the hell are skirt hinges/door hinges so borked compared to DSL 2.1? The amount of times they rupt to the high heavens is beyond me, never once had it happen in 2.1. I've imported bots over which have no issues on the older build to this one and it happens without fail.

I've tried more weight on the hinge, less weight, more pressure into the ground, less pressure into the ground, nothing has stopped it. Remove the hinges and it's 100% fine but then I'm without a proper feeder wedge. Am I missing something here or did 2.2 change some fundamental of the way they operate? Went at it for like 2 hours and I've given up for the time being.

A drill seems like an odd choice of weapon for an Antweight

Depends if Piglet's chicken glitch, that said they need an extender before the spike to work iirc.
