Well, I'm basically working on a clone of this in Python (it's written in Game Maker currently), but I figured you guys would love this game as much as I do: Gang Garrison 2TF2 8-bit style, 'nuff said.

Hey, I just re-designed my website and I would like to know what you guys think of it. Here's the link: http://nclabs.org/I'm still working on the logo so you can ignore that :)

I created a version of RA2 that can handle multiple AI packs in one installation. Basically it's download, extract and go. Instead of making a shortcut to Robot Arena 2.exe you make a shortcut to aiselect.exe. Now, everytime you start RA2 you get asked what AI pack you want to use and then it boots the game. Note that aiselect.exe saves the last selection, so if you also make a shortcut to ra2.exe it will launch the last selected AI pack immediately. By default it comes with the stock AI, Starcore v3 and Pys AI, and I'm going to tell you how to install other AI packs: Instead of putting the AI folder in the Robot Arena 2 folder you put it in Robot Arena 2/AI packs. Now you're nearly there, you'll only need to do one more thing. You'll need to add a new file to the AI pack called pack.inf. It should look like this: [AI pack info] name=Starcore AI creator=Starcore version=3 directory=starcorev3 Name, creator and version are self-explaining, and directory should be the name of the directory as seen in AI packs. Names don't need to be unique, only directories (obviously). Version is optional. Have fun, if you have suggestions tell me. Download: Zip archive (90.8MB) or 7-zip archive (67.7MB)

I had this idea. One .bat launcher for various AI packs.
The .bat will look for folders named AI_*. Examples are AI_Stock, AI_SC3, AI_Pys. It lists the options to the user using a little menu. The user selects the AI pack he/she wants.
Now the .bat will rename the according AI_* to AI, and possibly UI_* to UI and start the game.
After the game closes the folder gets renamed back to AI_*.
If people support this I will make it.

Hey all,
I'm working on a new Google Chrome plugin, LikeTube. It basically adds like/dislike data under every video. If you have any suggestions/tips, I'd be glad to hear them. Also, if you support this please also write something down, as a motivator :)

Yay a poll! Vote for your favourite STOCK builder ATM. You can pick three builders. I can't check it, but voting for yourself is illegal, please be fair and just don't.
I'm sorry if you're not on this list and you think you deserved it. I only included people who seemed active and decent enough.

I once saw a skin for extenders (somewhere in Sage's showcase IIRC) that showed the location of the sidepoint attachment. Where can I download this skin?

...But has anyone ever tried mounting wedges on pistons and shooting them under your enemy for instant wedge pwnage?

I found out this method, and wanted to share. This allows you to easily axle load anything, even on HP-Zteks.
Step 1. Attach an 20cm extender to the axle.
Step 2. Spin the motor until it's on full speed and switch tabs (while still holding the spin button).
Step 3. Make the motor spin faster by pressing and holding the spin button and quickly switching tabs. Repeat a few more times to make the motor spin faster in order to enhance success. Stronger motors require more repetitions.
Step 4. Remove the extender and put another 20cm extender on the axle, with the side attachment this time.
Step 5. Spin once and quickly switch tabs. The extender should've come loose.
Step 6. Remove the extender and place your wheel/disc/other component.
Step 7. Spin once and quickly switch tabs. Congratulations, your component should now be axle loaded.
(I'll make a video when I am home)

I have done it once, but that was sheer luck.
My question is, what are your strategies/tactics to stacking two blacks? Certain camera angles, what zoom, etc...
Thanks!

Alright, what is going on here? I was just messing around with measuring up the new chassis for my new bot and I put the drivetrain in to see if it fit. And it can't drive straight. I tried replacing the motors, restarting the game, different wheels, but it can't drive straight at all. Would one of you guys look at it? Here is the .bot: http://nclabs.org/downloads/testing.bot

I'm trying out a new setup where a DDT has to be directly attached tot the secret AP of a Snapper II. On that DDT the wedge is going to be. Has this setup any chance of being wedgy or will it be too "loose"?

I had an idea, if we could find out the protocol of the master server, edit the (probably) hardcoded address of the gameserver that RA2 to our server, code the server then maybe we can play online without hamachi. It probably won't fix the lag, but it's worth a shot.
Anyone?

As suggested by many, I'm applying to be "Tech Adviser". Some people supporting me (PM me if you think I falsely quoted you and you don't support me at all): nightcracker should become quickest Tech Adviser in history of GTM! I'm callin it!
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but what is a tech adviser, what does it mean on these forums?
Tech advisers are the absolute brains of the forum. They understand all that coding voodoo and partake in binary-talk witchcraft.
It is really only a matter of hours time before you become one as well.
Anyone wanna make an NC4TA (nightcracker for Tech Advisor) badge? :P
Oh and apparently people want me as Tech Adviser :) You sure do merit that title.
Disclaimer: I added a poll only to see the opinion of the community. If voting like this is not the way it goes at GTM then please consider this thread as never posted.

Alright, here it goes! My first bot, iNCinerator. Not completely content yet. Paintjob still pending :) It's pretty much a copy from NFX's popup. Weapons: 14 razors on two DDT's Wedges: OK! Defense: 6 ramplates + 2 60cm blades Drivetrain: 4WD but it can't drive in a straight line (it has a pretty bad offset to the left, backwards worse then forward, care to explain?) Power: 2 Big Volt's

Do you create your own custom AI with BBeans using Python?
If yes, where can I find some specs/info on the API?
Sorry if this is some noob question that could be answered by one google or something.

I've read multiple things on wheels now, that shinies are the best because they are so light, but then I read in some stock thread "can you upgrade those wheels to rubbers?" and other conflicting information.
So my question is, what are the best wheels? If there are different wheels the best in different scenario's (lots of weight left opposed to scratching to get the lightweight limit) please describe those :)
