Well it's certainly been a long time since I've ever posted in this sort of thread but since I finally got Ironforge working I got to building and experimenting with designs in order to shake off the rust. I think I'll start off with my first decently designed robot called Beyond Driven. It is a four wheel drive robot that has a skirt wedge and lifting arm up front consisting of iron spikes and a pair of crushing teeth at the top to prevent opponents from going up and over the top and as a back up it has a ramming bumper made of four crushing teeth in the rear. Strengths - Low ground clearance up front, great pushing power, well protected Weaknesses - Wedge and lifting arm are useless when inverted and exposed wheels

Has anyone played this lost chapter of the Team Fortress franchise? For those who don't know, Fortress Forever is a Half-Life 2 mod that uses the Source engine. The game is based on Team Fortress Classic, but has been created entirely from scratch by the Fortress Forever development team. The intended scope of Fortress Forever is to please older Team Fortress Classic fans, while at the same time creating a game enjoyable enough to players new to Team Fortress styled games. It was originally released in 2007 (same year as TF2) and now after months of being stuck in development hell, it's been released as a free to play game on Steam.

I just pre-ordered this game and I'm looking forward to it. If anyone has gotten this game, I think it would be a good idea to create a GTM Crew and go cause some trouble every now and then. It was supposed to be released already but delays have pushed the release date to this November 11.

Fistful of Frags is a Free-to-Play standalone Source Mod that has recently appeared on Steam. It is a wild west style shooter and I must say it's a pretty good game. I really hope it catches on and becomes a full blown game. Anyone else here play it?

Well if you pay attention to automotive news you may have heard about the sinkhole that swallowed 8 historic Corvettes in the National Corvette Museum. Well yesterday they hauled out the last one and it's planned for a short time to display them as is and later send them to GM for restoration. Unfortunately I personally don't think that's possible with half of them. The "Blue Devil" ZR1, 1962 Corvette, 1993 40th Anniversary, and the 1,000,000th Corvettes were fished out with minimal damage to them, they were able to start up the ZR1 after it was hauled out. The other four though, the PPG Pace Car, ZR1 Spyder concept, the 1,500,000th, and Mallet Hammer Corvettes, I honestly can't say they can be saved and are unfortunately destined for a junkyard. The only way I can see for these cars to be seen again is to try and salvage the VIN numbers off them and rebuild them from existing Corvettes. "Attention all competitors, this is your one minute warning. I repeat, one minute to race commencement! Members of the public, you now have one minute to reach minimum safe distance. OK, ladies and gentlemen, fire 'em up!......"
Hopefully come this Thursday we will once again hear these words as Stainless Software is releasing for the first time in almost a decade a new installment of the Carmageddon franchise, Carmageddon: Reincarnation. I don't know what the price is just yet but it is to be released for early access on Steam this Thursday. So if you've been itching to get behind the wheel of Max Damage's Eagle again, you're about to get that chance.
Pre-Alpha Gameplay:
Also, other than Max Damage and his Eagle, I can confirm 5 other characters and their cars that are in the game: Screwie Louie/Twister, Val Hella/Cleaver, Cutter/Countslash, Otis P. Jivefunk/Caddy Fat Cat, and Psycho Pitbull/Towmeister.

EDIT: Take this down this thread is irrelevant. I didn't know of the other thread.

I loved watching this show back when I was a kid. Does anyone else remember this show as well?
First episode I saw was the one below. Also, see if you recognize the team in yellow.

Just wondering if anyone else plays this online game. I have to say it's awesome racing others around the world or smashing up cop cars with them. If you ever see me there I use the same username as here on GTM and the most common car I'll be driving at the moment is a black 1965 Pontiac GTO with an old school flame job on it.

Ok I've been trying to build a robot to showcase on my DSL Garage that supposed to have a flamethrower on it. In the bot lab it lights up just fine but when I get to the testing area it doesn't (and yes it has a fuel and power source). Could someone explain what is wrong or what I'm doing wrong?

Since this is my first time here, I decided to start off with what possibly is the best rammer I've ever built, Road Boss. Despite it's weight and size, it is very fast and stable and has be known to do impressions of Storm II throwing out Steel Avenger in the DSL, Blade, and Robot Wars arenas. It's only weaknesses are it can't self right when on it's roof (can sometimes if on it's side), thin armor (1mm steel), and it doesn't like FBSs.

I was just watching Christine on the television and it made me think to create this thread in the Automotive section about famous cars from the movies. So which ones are your favorites? I would have to go with the Back to the Future DeLorean.

I know we've seen plenty of crazy, unexpected incidents in RA2 (ie Havok Explosions), but what about in real life? What are some of the biggest WTF moments you've seen in things like Battlebots, Robot Wars, and any past or current robot combat events?
I'll start with this one. Ever thought Son of Whyachi was unbeatable? Well have a look at this.

Just thought I'd post this up as I've hardly seen anything on racing games here. Now the racing games I'm into are not the kind trying to recreate reality, I prefer the kind where you're trying to wipe your opponents off the road. This thread is here to post about those games and what are your favorites.
To be honest, any game where you can turn your opponent's cars from speed machines into scrap metal is good with me.

It doesn't matter if the music was made up or if it is an actual track, you can post your favorite video game music videos here. I'll start with this

I'm just curious, I know that these can and cannot be effective robots, but I just want to know what your best RA2 flipper robots are. I'd post a picture of mine but don't know how. The name of the team this bot is on is The Pit Crew and the name is Overblown. It is a dragster themed robot built on the DSL version and it's flipper consists of three poly-carbonate panels and is powered by three MAG burst motors. So what's the best flipper in your fleet?

When ever I try to start up my RA2, midway during the first three screenshots (It's the Aceuplink version) my computer goes haywire and displays the Internet Explorer shut down window. Could someone here explain what's going on and how to fix it?
