Creativity Showcase / Rigging Dead Metal's head (SOLVED)
« on: May 09, 2020, 08:36:06 AM »
EDIT: I got help in solving this, so any moderator or administrator is free to archive this or delete it.

I don't expect anyone to know how to accomplish this, but I'm giving it a try. What I need is to move his head, along with those arms holding the head in an arc forward. But only with the upper part of the arms.

I am basically kind of stuck here, so I was thinking that maybe some other "Blenderhead" like myself knows how to solve this little problem?

EDIT: I forgot to attach the image...

Creativity Showcase / My competitor robot replicas (Robot Wars)
« on: May 07, 2020, 04:59:59 AM »
It was only a question of time before I couldn't resist making some competitor robots as well. So, here is the wreaker of havoc, Carbide. Facing the biggest flipper in Robot Wars, Apollo.

This will probably hurt... a lot...

Off-Topic Discussion / I'm going underground, permanently.
« on: April 19, 2020, 10:34:03 AM »
I am not going to write a long book about my reasons to leave, but I'm moving on.

Those few people who wants to see any progress on my modeling (if anyone at all) is welcome to look me up on either Discord, or Skype.

Off-Topic Discussion / What music would the house robots listen to?
« on: February 09, 2020, 12:48:38 PM »
I have been kind of quiet lately (humble guy), but at last I made up my mind to come up with something I haven't been thinking of before.

The official Robot Wars music, if excluded, what music do you think the house robots listens to?

I really have no idea, except that Shunt surely listens to Rammstein (maybe Sonne, while breaking up stone, industrial metal) as he's an industrial robot.

I was thinking of coming up with a great looking picture of each of the house robots, with a band's logo and a nice looking background related to them, but I am not that great in Gimp, and don't know Photoshop at all.

Oh well... What do the rest of you think?

EDIT: I found Paint 3D to be extremely helpful in visualising my idea.

A Robot Wars legend passed away on Monday. Although I never met him, and don't know much about him, I show him respect and may he Rest In Peace.

Creativity Showcase / Mortis

Finally almost on the day after four years, I decided it was time to make my next replica. Mortis.

No paintjob or weapons, yet…

Creativity Showcase / My very own house robot
« on: September 25, 2018, 07:28:05 AM »
... His working name is "Jaws", and no it's not Bruce from the blockbuster Jaws from 1975 ;) This is one will be the BIGGEST, heaviest and most powerful house robot yet ever built. With imagination as my only obstacle, I will make sure that this robot won't fear anything, and have no weaknesses whatsoever, except speed.

I am well aware of that I have started on the new Matilda from the reboot. This titan on the other hand, will be the most awesome house robot of all time.

His current dimensions are the following (from inside Blender) approximately 2.4 meters long (from front to back), 2.6 meters wide (from side to side) and finally stand at 1.7 meters tall. He will weigh more than a ton. That's for sure. Probably between five to ten tons.

His armour will be superior to anything. Extremely thick Hardox. His primary weapon will be, hence his name, a hugely powerful set of crushing, piercing and chomping jaws (possibly on an arm, like Sir Killalot or Mr. Psycho or the late Major Damage, or even Goliath. But this one will be more than twice as powerful as the strongest jaws in robotic combat). The secondary weapon will probably be a huge circular saw, specifically designed to cut through anything.

Alright. I was thinking about making my own version of the music video which was released with the single back in 2000.

I was thinking of adjusting the plot a bit... adding my own plot to it. Still keeping it kind of similar to the original plot, but with some own ideas added, and some original events removed.

I decided early on to use my pullback version of Sir Killalot. If there would be a way to, through visual effects enlarge the pullback toy to look bigger, that wouldn't be too bad. Although I think that will be over-the-top work. I will probably not have shots of me and the pullback at the same time, except only if most necessarily.

I'm open for ideas! So if you have any good idea for a plot, please, do not hesitate to reply here!

I'm of course going to buy ALL the four new house robots if they make them as toy models, either radio controlled or pullback, doesn't matter

I remember one particular fight where Razer got a hold on the back of Sir Killalot, and if I remember correctly, smoke came out of Sir Killalot's back. Does anybody here remember what heat that was? It said so in my Robot Wars Magazine issue 5.

Off-Topic Discussion / My third Robot Wars arena
« on: August 02, 2017, 02:47:12 PM »
I finally got it home, after me and my grandfather have slowly been working on it since last year around this time. The arena is based on the series 4 design, around 2000-2001.

Off-Topic Discussion / Stop-motion or handmade?
« on: July 10, 2015, 12:03:44 PM »
Feeling a little bit like Microsoft did with many of their users/consumers of Windows 8 (myself NOT included though, I use 8.1 ), I got a lot of feedback from a sharp-eyed user here called Knight. My apologies goes to him for completely ignoring his constructive criticism. Once again, I'm very sorry Knight. You're totally correct about it feeling like a chore when watching it, now afterwards when I watch it myself, I do agree on that.

But, to come to the point, what would you guys want to see in my series? Be it stop-motion (WILL take longer time between videos) or handmade (which I do prefer ).

You choose! Your opinion is important for the development of my series! Please consider to vote! Thanks!

Best Wishes to you all

Discussion / Drillzilla in Robot Arena 2?
« on: March 09, 2015, 01:41:16 PM »
Recently seen Drillzilla in action, gotta say, one mean looking machine. Even Razer could not pierce through it!

But to come to the point, does Drillzilla exist for Robot Arena 2?

Off-Topic Discussion / Skull Kid's Robot Wars
« on: September 26, 2014, 10:31:40 AM »
Just wanted to tell, you can check out my YouTube channel. I have started my own series, Skull Kid's Robot Wars

Here's my full Robot Wars collection. As a collector, I have collected all of the house robots (am a HUGE fan of them <3) still new and sealed. Plus tons of more things:
New and sealed pullbacks
DVDs, games and books
Used and played with pullbacks

Does anybody know the trick to enable this camera? I have tried to get this working for quite some time now... with no result :(

SOLUTION: Using the JPEARCE cheat worked like a charm! Now I plan to mod the game even further ^^

With all thanks to QuickBMS, I successfully enabled the house robots in Arenas of Destruction. Here, playing as Dead Metal and Matilda and fooling around in the arena :P

Discussion / Major Damage?
« on: January 27, 2014, 08:19:29 PM »
Don't really know if anybody has come up with this idea, but I recently got an idea, to bring the "new" house robot from Roaming Robots into Robot Arena 2: Design & Destroy? Has this been done? If so, where can I get this brother to Mr. Psycho and Sir Killalot?
