I've been fiddling around with the micro cannon, and I can't seem to mod it so it gets more than one shot. Anyone know what values to adjust? I'm referring to this compnent, I have no idea which pack it came from

I have this weird problem with a Frenzy-style hammer. The actual points of contact don't match what you see. In the picture, the green outlines indicate how the collision meshes have slipped from their components, and it gets worse the more stuff I put on. How in the bloody hell do I fix this? I keep having to take apart axes that I've spent a long time assembling

I'm trying to AI my Nuts 2 replica to make it move while spinning, and I have close to no idea what I'm doing.
What py should I be using? FBS.py looks good, although all I could find was FBSPlus. I tried that, and Nuts will spin but not translate. What labels should I be using for the controls? What values should I be using for the Binding? I searched the forums and all I could find were standard bindings - ie labelled as "FBS" but with no specialized args.
Please help, and thanks.

Now that we have a dedicated thread for it, I'd like to plug my upcoming New Blood series, coming in May. 30 reobots compete for guaranteed entry in Seires 6, and after the heats, the viewers (yes, you) will vote for a wildcard. For now, have a preview:

I just tried to post a picture, and I can't find the "upload image" button anymore. Attachments don't show the full picture, like the large spread I like to post when I do a replica. Apanx was kind enough to change my attachment to a proper image on my last post, but I'm wondering if I can still do that myself?

So I've been trying to AI a forklift-weapon bot using the Forklift.py ( https://github.com/apanx/RA2_AI/blob/master/Forklift.py) but my bot won't drop the forks after the first time it raises them. I've tried setting linacuslength to various things with no success. 'm unsing the Medium2" length DSL servo piston. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once again it's time to vote on robots to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. You only have 2 weeks before it closes, so be proactive. Here are the ones I'm voting for:
Weta, God of Ugly Things: The basis for a beetleweight drumbot kit, which spawned many great competitiors, including 3-time Bot Blast champion Mondo Bizarro Triggo: Inspired by Ziggo, a rising star with a super-reliable shell spinner. I firsthand saw it take a flawless victory at the last Motorama. Upheaval: 5 championships in the Sportsman class Anticide: Hugely powerful flipper in the UK antweight division. Storm II: Looked nearly invincible in Robot Wars, even dominating Tornado twice.
I'll add more to my ballot if anyone can make a good case for any other bot

Is there a way to make the arena hazards less potent? My bots keep getting killed too easily from the saws and the flame pit in the Robot Wars arena.

We have liftoff; this clip from the 1996 Brady Bunch movie, specifically where Marcia doesn't believe there's someone named George Glass at their sküle.

I'm working on Barberous and Stinger, and finding that they Tokyo drift if they turn too fast. It's incredibly hard to line up Barberous' drum for an attack. Is there an adjustment I can make to the txt of the motors or wheels to cut down on the momentum ie still go fast but brake fast too?

I'm trying to make a replica of Stinger (reference pic), which has two big wheels close together, but I'm getting impeded by the f*cking AGOD glitch. The AGOD glitch is the one where your bot havoks when the wheels encounter even the slightest jostle. What are some tips for dealing with it? It seems like I'll have to sacrifice having the wheels close together, and being fast enough to zip along like stinger. I've tried: -Making the wheels extra light -Mounting the drive motors to an anchor -Moving the motors further apart, and the wheels closer together to compensate to be continued I can BFE anything to make for optimal conditions. Thanks for any help.

Is there an AI for for the Linear Actuator or Servo piston? To refresh your memory, I'm referring to these two motors, which are useless in battle, but helpful for replicas... I'm trying to AI Indefatigable, a bot with a forklift that went straight up, but didn't immediately drop its forks back down. I've tried using THz.py and Frenzy, but it just raises them once with a small Havok explosion, then never drops them back down. So, has anyone ever dabbled in these obscure components?

It seems like the avatar size limit has been repealed. I view GTM on my mobile most of the time, and having to scroll down an entire pillar just because people can't control themselves. I think it was naive to expect people not to abuse this. Please, may we have an enforceable limit?

I'm genuinely curious, what's with the sudden interest in Five Guys on GTM? I've been to one of their restaurants before, and the staff were really nice, and the price was decent, but I wouldn't call it life-changingly good.

I like to keep my game in windowed mode, because in fullscreen, it stretches a lot on my monitor. However, when I'm in certain selection menus, the game will crash if I linger too long. If I want to import a robot, I have to do it lightning fast to dodge the crash. Here's a full list of selection menus that cause my game to crash:
Import and Export Bot Import and Export Texture Choosing robots for an exhibition battle
Also, I had to set the ra2.cfg to read-only mode because it kept defaulting to high quality and MAXIMUM VOLUME (I deleted the THQ-esque opening sound so that I could stop getting heart attacks every time that happened.) Don't know if that's relevant, but if it helps, then great.

Here's a thread for any appearances of robots or robot combat in other TV shows
Team Coolrobots had their bot Knee Breaker guest star as a murder weapon on CSI. The victim, murderer, and accused happened to have the same names as the team members (Christian, Luke, Brian). Read into that what you will.

I was going to delete this but I think it has instructive value. If this happens to you, replace your ra2.cfg file with one from a clean copy of the game. Problem (knock on wood) solved. All of a sudden, none of the BFE modifications I make to my robots' chassis are working outside the bot lab, like this one:
I think the problem may be with RA2 because they're all doing this. Please help - all the replicas I've made in the the past 8 months are ***ked if I can't get this resolved. I tried moving them to a fresh copy, no dice.
Could it be that I moved the files from one computer to another? I remeber I sent one to Helloface and it didn't work for him, even though it worked fine on my computer.[/s]

I was hoping to run dual monitors on my pc, but it only had one of each DVI-I & DVI-D port. Do I have to buy a whole new graphics card with two ports, or can I get a second identical graphics card to make it work?
Alternatively, what's a good single card for running dual monitors?

I'm in the market for a good gaming PC, and the Asus desktops look like they have really good RAM & CPUs for their prices. Would it be a good buy? Looking to spend $800 at the max. The two most technologically-demanding games I'm looking to play are Thief and Bioshock Infinite.
If not, what are the factors that prevent it from being good?
As you can probably tell, I don't know much about computers so while I'm not completely opposed to building my own, the dollar savings are somewhat negated by the worry and risk that I might screw it up
Also tacking on a random question; how can I tell if my desktop is capable of handling 2 monitors? Both monitors use the VGA connection (I know I can buy a splitter, but I don't know if that necessarily means it works on all computers)

I wasn't there myself, but a friend of mine shared this little highlight.
Figured this can be the general M2014 thread since we don't have one yet.
