Hi all......
No, you havent woken up in the year 2009 to open this thread! I've just come back around the old stomping grounds (again) after I tried out Ra3, realized that sucked, and then further realized my old Ra2 showcase was locked. Definitely a shame with all the content on there, but I'll digress.
Been playing RA2 for a few weeks now after rediscovering all my old game files on an old laptop computer. I've been recompiling and redesiging all my old bots for 2 AI packs that I want to release after initially starting them eons ago. After making numerous empty promises to return to this community in the past, I will be here for at least a few months on a full time basis. And I mean, almost everything has been redone to some significant extent.
Hopefully there are souls on here who still remember me and will follow along with what I have to share. After all, this game used to be a way of life for me. Working on the initial splashes as I speak, but I will post some official previews tomorrow. Didn't want to overwhelm with too much content in my initial post. Eager to share with everybody what I have been working on.

 Time to get this place going. Hosting my first tourney in 3+ years. Would you rather:
A.) An improved format of Brawl of the Builders... 3 Bots (LW,MW,HW) all of the same type... 16, 20, or 32 entrants
B.) A new tourney format.... either:
i.) 3 Bots, 3 different predetermined types of the same weight class
ii.) 3 bots, 3 different predetermined types of different weight classes

Can we get a forum hierarchy please?
I mean, if my posts can be controlled by admins and moderators, meaning they have control over everybody else, why not have other stages of rank and power as well? I mean it is only fair.
ADDED: Does it make sense for me to have the same rights as LRA2 or RM2444? How about newbies? Are they as good at giving advice or knowing about the history of the game or they way things are run?
Are the Admins and Moderators the only people in power? I thought a forum was a place from Ancient Rome and symbolized democracy? Power to the people? Not here...You can even make this a US Government, which in reality is a Hierarchy with just c and balances...but it is NOT fair for someone like Myself Sage or Scrap Daddy be among the same class as LRA2 Roboman and System32.
ADDED AGAIN: In the past there has ALWAYS been an hierarchy. When I was young to the game I did as I was told and never defied. I waited my turn. I lurked in the shadows of RA2 greats, and even with my limited knowledge, back then I still had differentiating opinions, but I never voiced them. But now the system has broken down and builders have not been 'raised' the same way as of recent. So when people dont read rules or dont follow directions or dont listen to advice or double post and silly stuff like that its because they dont LISTEN. And people need to LISTEN TO AUTHORITY. Its how all of us were raised and schooled, there is NO DENYING that.
MORE ADDED: I may not be in contention for an ADMIN spot anytime soon, nor is anybody else. But does my authority even exist in its common state right now? Not really, but people are still scared, hurt, and affected by what I say, so why not give ranks of power to prevent fallouts from happening in the future? It would HELP by limiting newB rants and disobediences as well as preventing the 'spamming' going on by alot of members on the forum.

As a select [very] few of you know, I have had an official Ra2 League played via Online [Hamachi] Connection for the past year. I have developed a thorough set of rules, regulations, and league functions [NOT on my computer, dont ask to see] that will reveal who the true Ra2 players out in this community are.
I am not giving you any more than that at this point, I just want to listen to everybody's interpretation of what this is going to be, and to hear what suggestions people have for such league.
After reading above post, please post below; whatever you may have to add.
Trust me, this will be huge; bigger than anything else. *I can guarantee it*

After a year of turmoil, the pack is about 80% complete. Featuring 45 Rebuilds of all original Stock Bots, New UI (soon to come, hopefully), New Music, Madiaba's Smartzones, Sage's Component Skins (not in BETA), and Updated Rookies (Not in BETA); Re-Stocked AI provides the best competition out in the AI world.  I now need 5-7 BETA testers, who have AI-ing knowledge and are willing to work out the kinks as well as suggest changes to AI and the game overall. Please let me know here if you want to BETA test, and if I feel confident in your ability to help, I will let you BETA test. Yesterday my computer was ATTACKED by a virus.
I called up some friends of mine, and the virus came through a portal from this webites. Got a bunch of different types of KeyLoggers, Artemis', Trojans, and various other viruses that swamped my system.
Not a complaint, just trying to inform everybody, as well as the administrators, because it is obvious that we have had trouble with spambots as of late as well.
All the viruses, and their source, were directed from GTM.

If I see anyone use the word "pure" in front of a bot type again i will go freakin' nuts.
There is no such thing as PURE anything. You either have one type of bot, or its a hybrid of many types.
PURE HS does not mean a HW Hs with 36 weapons. Thats just a HS.
The word PURE means nothing in the sense of bot building, and saying that you built a PURE anything just makes you sound stupid.

A tournament different from all the rest...where one builder emerges victorious from the rest...the builder who is most well ready to adapt to any bot challenge thrown at him...only managing to build the best...ARE YOU THIS BUILDER? Welcome to the inaugural season of RA2: Brawl of the Builders. This is a tournament unlike any other, where only the best will emerge victorious from 'all the rest.' With 16 competitors building, designing, and fighting with all that they have to become the Ultimate Builder. Each builder will be seeded in this field of 16 based on predicted outcome...only they can live up to their own hype as they must will themselves to fight off their opponents. Each one of the four rounds of this tournament, builders will be given a selected type of robot to design and build. Since I started the "RA2 United" Hamachi communities, the official community will now be managed by me, full time.
Announcements:
- RA2 United & RA2 United 2 Communities have been deleted.
- There will now be ONE official Hamachi community for intended online purposes.
- The NEW community is under RA2 United!
-There will be a secret password I will only hand out to people who request (VIA PM) it, and I grant admission.
- If ANYBODY HANDS OUT THE PASSWORD OUT TO OTHER PEOPLE ON THEIR OWN, THEY WILL BE BANISHED FROM SAID COMMUNITY.
- Anyone who creates their own Hamachi community for the intention of gathering a community pool will be shunned.
- Private, small communities for private purposes/fighting are of course allowed.

yo.
I've been quite the busy man as of late, but I'm pretty much finished my own AI pack as well as the ReStocked. Except for the Rookie team...
I've decided to release my beautiful creations here..I've had them in hiding for too long. I have redone a lot of bots, and I still have about 5 or 6 to finish redoing. As well as about 6 more new planned but thats about it, and then my 90bot pack will be complete.
I don't really have time right now (snowboarding and baseball) so I will try and post some tomorrow morning since I will be off from schoool.

Hey everyone, I would like to organize all of the more active DSL builders onto one forum to discuss 'advanced DSLing' between each other and share ideas.
It's a lot easier to talk about general things here when it's organized rather than around various showcases.
Heres my first topic that should really be discussed:
What makes a great wedge? Is it independent of the actual bot? Does it depend on weight distribution? Axles or Hinges? Share your thoughts.

Been a while since I showcased. I have a lot but I'm really not going to show anything till I release my AI pack.  Theres an updated version that will be in Gigafrost: Legends Unleashed. Sweet skin and new weapon setup. I have a lot on my hands right now with school, sports, and tons of different things when it comes to this game. I'm all over this game with different things and I'm currently unorganized and unfocused with all the different things I'm doing. But I plan to at least showcase my 3 G:LU bots and my BOTM nomination...
