kaiser and luis commentating a tournament? joeblo posting on the forum again? what timeline have i stumbled into

XD that would be shocking, but that's not me. Maybe I'll start now that no one cares. And while I'm at it, I'll become a tournament host.

Yeah, this is where the other people that play this game are.

I get what you're going for, but the floor skin is too contrasty and bright making it harder for people to see bots. If you wanna keep the atlas theme, maybe go with a old-school sepia map (like the one pictured below)?
(Image removed from quote.)
Well:

I think it looks great!

I agree, I like this version.

Robot Rumble 2.0 / Re: RR2 AI Tournament

Dumb question but...
How do I export bots/where are they located?

Second Question:
At the moment the game is suffering from a bug that causes robots to die instantaneously.  What will you do if a robot is prone to causing this bug?
Horizontal Grabbers in particular are a serious offender of this.

bots are saved here by default for me:

C:\Users\James\AppData\LocalLow\Nerd Island Studios LLC\Robot Rumble 2.0

As for the swiftly dying bots, I have been experimenting, and it seems like the chassis has hitpoints, and the amount of damage weapons do could be unbalanced af atm. That's just my theory, though.
If there is a robot that is meant to use bugs for an advantage, I will not allow it into the tournament.

I didn't even realize this was a tournament thread XD
I just meant I was trying to figure out how to make bots that don't die on contact with an opponent.

AND the other competitors are all great bots. Can't wait for this to get started.

I like to think GTM is a sort of living RA2 community, especially with how many people participate in the larger tournaments.

I entered a HS shell spinner which is pretty damn good while it has it's shell imo, but when it comes off (which it often does) it becomes a ring spinner with 2 typhoon teeth that hopefully will still be attached. Comes at the price of invertibility, but I may find a way around that before it's too late to update the ai.
Talking about AI, do you know how to make the weapons part of the binding work with Flipper py. I think I entered the correct ID for the weapons I use, but it doesn't work, as the weapon keep firing despite losing the parts specified in the AI. I can PM you the binding through GTM or Discord
If you wanna send it to me, I can definitely fix it.

This is how you fix it, though: use the ra2exporter program available https://gametechmods.com/forums/downloads/?sa=view;down=289 to find the component ID's of the parts connected to your flipper (the parts that you want your bot to see as your weapon, so it knows when firing is no longer necessary), then in your bindings.py, place your weapon ID's in 'weapons':(0,) at the end of your AI line (with commas separating each component id.)

You may have to allow the bot exporter through your fire wall because windows usually thinks it's a virus.

General Support / Re: Creating Custom Weapons?

I am looking to create the Bowtie Blade from Nightmare on the Battlebots reboot, and was wondering if anyone knew how to create it similar to the dsl 2.2 Nightmare blade, or make anything similar too it?  I am new to messing around this deep in RA2 and am just look for more seasoned vets to help me out! Thanks, also if this is in the wrong place, let me know and I'll post in the correct place

This is going to be a new component in DSL 2.3, coming out in December. Stick around!

Thank you very much to whoever is doing the work to make this component, I've tried before and let's just say i'm no artist. Can't wait for December.

So, whatever i do, I can't AI that bot so its fully working.
Drives fine, retracts the axe in the start of the fight, doesn't fire the weapon, even when it is in the smartzone.

Its a Bot for my tournament btw
Code: [Select]
list.append(("lol im a fox","Judge",{'reload':6,'StartAngle':math.pi*0.5,'MotorID':5,'invertible':False,'nose':math.pi*2,'radius':1,'topspeed':100,'throttle':100,'turn':50,'turnspeed':3.5,'weapons':(86,87)}))
I wanna get better but i never could ai with judge.py, so please show me how it works! :3

Bot is under attachments when someone wants to try to make a working judge.py

challenge accepted, i'll pm you in a bit about it

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Kaiser112183's DSL Showcase
« on: September 06, 2018, 07:08:42 PM »
I've decided to update my showcase! Be as critical (or complimentary) as you see fit. Sorry about the lazy-ish editing on the images, and SOON I will master the art of skinning the chassis/components.

Disprezzata is one of my most recent attempts at solving the issue of losing chassis durability at the cost of having a large spinning weapon (e.g. Nightmare). Sort of succeeds, but it has terrible control because it's blade easily hits the floor if it rocks backwards.

And here's my most recent Nightmare rip-off.
