Goofing around tries putting 90 hinge on spinner to see if I could get the teeth to still hit but flex to keep spun up better and it still causes the same issue I was having before with overheads and having no rpm for some reason

I've definitely noticed that this build is exact same rpm and tip speed this does bring up the thought itd be really nice if there was a mirror feature somehow to help line up drive or teeth on weapons and all

That makes sense and I did make sure to account for that as much as I could i kept the cylinder I used for center disc/bar weighing as close as I could to the same and the 2 teeth exact same size and weight

It's the same thickness and same length but a width more in line with a bar spinner which unless I misunderstood you a bar spinner has more drag than a disc spinner of same length?

7
Mystic I definently agree my big spinners were crashing game before occasionally but they do do it a little more now

So I found something interesting I took a version with big disc of shark bite(last bot posted) kept all stars ths same except used stretch to keep it 18 long but made it only 1 wide to create a bar in a sense that's slightly rounded and added weight back to get it as close to same weight as I could spins at the same rpm and tip speed but gained around 50 thousand joules of energy doesn't make sense and seems contradictory to what we were talking about above

On that same note would a thinner disc or bar at the same length have less drag aswell? And would blade shape have any effect such as creating lift or down force depending on shape?

From what I can tell it's not severely impacting my bots with heavy weapons it's really only making them harder to drive and giving me small annoyances this last 1 more so then the rest as it took a bot that was nimble when tested in aug6 build and made it slower and turn poorly left but right it can snap around like it should which I'm guessing is the gyroscopic effect being increased with the bleeding edge build.

Also out of curiosity does the aerodynamics of aay a blade have an effect? I ask as I feel my big disc type robots feel like they do better then bars?

Out of curiosity if I copied bot file and renamed it would i be able to essentially clone a bot so I could say make a modular bot in a sense?

Here is my latest build couldn't figure out how I wanted to buy up drive motor covers to make it look more realistic while keeping streamline look and wanted to round front to give a more shark type look but my creativity ran out and I'll have to figure that out later also on Aug 6 build works fine but bar doesn't bite like I'd hope and in the newer bleed build forgeg what cjbruce called it if drives really slow and doesn't turn very well I assume it's a side effect of the gyroscopic effects change.

From my experience with overhead spinner designs where motor and weapon are clear of anything to hit that's not it. Also when I tried the motor stacking for that huge spinner I made attaching blade to second motor wouldn't do anything no matter what but placing it on first motor with 2nd stacked on top of it did. I'm guessing it's only taking in the effect of the first item in the chain as for example my overhead was servo powered geared down and the small spinner rotated similar speed to how fast arm is on servo.

Will the new version show as Aug7 build in game?

If not I feel like I'm getting alot more torque on spin up and more gyro effect where bots want to stay up on 1 wheel from hits and turning with certs but nothing I feel really stops big spinners just makes them a little more work to control probably would make the bots useless as ai

I meant damage the health bar just goes down smoothly and fairly quick.

I think you'd be surprised at how much armor you can stuff on a bot like my big horizontal spinner or a deep 6 bot as chassis is so small that armor adds a lot less weight per mm

17
Also something else I found with that massive bar even when it was just resting against another bot it absolutely shreds the other bot despite having no ke

Yeah I agree only issue with nerfing spinners based on weight would be shell spinners and the like might get killed by such a nerf. But I do agree massive spinners like this are most likely not going to work well irl

19
Oh for sure but I couldn't sleep and wanted to see if the old ra2 exploits would transition at all and if i could find bugs and glitches to help the dev's out.

20
Was bored and was trying to see if I could force a glitch from the game and tried spinner stacking and pistons on spinners neither worked but did figure out how to get huge ke from a spinner albeit useless as I designed it but possibly an exploit for very powerful spinners not sure until I test it. Basically I have an a4300 with a small disc withbar attached to it at 1:10 ratio the put the me0708 on the the disc aswell and somehow increased the ke of the a40300 despite not doing anything other then spinning on the spinner?
