I've played this game for 20 minutes and I doubt I'll open it up again, I feel bad for my cousin who bought it for me because this has nothing on Robot Arena 2. The Robots don't control like robots in the slightest, the AI bots are the sh**tiest half assed attempts at opponents I've seen. I'd at least expect them to look like IRL robots like in both DSL and the classic RA2. But nope, they look sh**. Its such a shame, but how dead this site is towards this game shows exactly what's wrong with it. Pretty much the entire thing. The not building is decent however, I'll give it that.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Robot Wars on TV - Confirmed revival!

Not gonna lie, but the CERTAIN THING that happened in Round One has to be one of the greatest things I've seen, made even better by being there live. Everyone went wild.

I think I know what you're on about unfortunately and I was not there. It was thanks to some dick on Twitter who spoilt the results, until I unfollowed her and ignored her profile for life. Is it something we will see in heat A?

EDIT- Bit worried that they may be going back to the exaggerated/unrealistic look of RA1 over RA2, but thats just from seeing the arenas. Would personally prefer one thats more simulation based. Of course it's very early for me to say this but you know.

Awwh, look at us get all exited over new people. Don't go nasty on me but it reminds me of the movie "Cars" where those two passers by come through the town and everyone is selling themselves.

why are comments disabled?
Youtube nutsing up the comments section forced dan to resort to subreddits for comments.
I had fun looking through the reddit pages for GTM members. I found NeighImACarrot saying he knew the 'best builder from gametechmods'... who was he talking about? :P

Me. Jokez :L

As we all know, Nerdcubed is a famous (and great in my opinion) youtuber. He is a big fan of Robot Wars, but he is yet to play RA2... Until now.
On his Reddit he said in a comment we will see a RA2 video soon! The question is- Will we have an invasion of new guys here due to his following? It will really light up this forum to its former glory! Your thoughts?

With the exception of Scrap Metal and maybe Das Bot, I feel like all of these replicas have been done better by other people, no offense.

I'm reminded now that no one's skinned the Vlad wedge for a Maximus replica. Food for thought...

Also, I wonder how Das Bot would look with DSL3 extenders and the Lexan plates in DSL3...
No offense taken, and as for DSL 3, I'll give it a try next time.
I'll try to learn skinning by myself, but remember, all I have is MS paint, so it MAY not happen.
Also, any more suggestions for BattleBots replicas?
There's not enough of those here. :frown:

Get then :L It is not as good as photoshop but it is the best free alternative with plugins.

General Support / Robot Arena 2 is lagging badly?
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:30:17 PM »
I am really confused. I have a brand new laptop which easily runs things like Sanctum 2 and Civ 5 with no trouble. Yet on my old laptop, they barely run. On my new laptop Robot Arena 2 runs, but lags badly- Even on low graphics settings!  Yet on my old laptop, it used to run fine! Any ideas to why this is happening or any fixes?

Is this an Abridged Series?  You should label it as such, it'll get more views.  Also did you intend to make your logo look like the TLC logo?

I suppose it is, but the changes to characters might exclude it from abridging. And I had only heard of that TV channel last year. TST logo was created in 2010. :L

Some Engines Do Stuff is a parody series based around the ficticious Island of Sodorr, run by the heartless and scheming Mr Astley (known by his engines as the Obese Troll). The attitude of his workers is an attitude of angst and frustration, with the engines approaching their tasks with laxity. The engines all have different personalities and quirks, including the spoilt, the fearless, the fearful, the deluded and the drug-addicted.

In other words, Some Engines Do Stuff is a TST 2013 series, featuring complete pi**take of episodes of Thomas & Friends from Season 8 onwards.
