Attention, all RA2 gamers! Kix is in great danger and he needs your help to wipe out Group F in GTM Open Event #2! But to do this, he needs a working PC display and a couple of +1 reps! To help him, all he needs is your credit card number, the three digits on the back, and the expiration month and year. But, you gotta be quick, so that Kix can secure his display graphics and achieve the epic tournament Victory Royale!

I don't really have a lot to add, but I appreciate the discussion being brought up on what exactly this community should be, and how we can make it fulfill that role for its members. I'll mention that we've seen many forms of forum activity in the past few years like AI/mod packs, new tutorials, more active showcases, the challenge board, BOTM, and random discussions in Off-Topic, but I feel like the most successful have still been tournaments and RA3/Robot Rumble (well, when there were exciting updates). Those might be good starting points to focus our efforts on for the coming year. Adding to that, I've suggested in previous threads some form of archiving and documenting what's going on in the community on a semi-official page (it was just for GTMCS at the time, but it would extend to other events), like tournament results (even highlights and summary write-ups as well), BOTM winners, mod releases, and other major events, to bring more value to what we do as a community.

If you set the start positions of the weapon bursts lower it should help with the damage. Sometimes the popup weapon needs a bit of startup time to reach full velocity.

Hey, since it's the finals, I actually watched all three metas for the first time.
DSL: VB's bot looks super cool, so that's probably why it won. Also its wider wedgelets seemed to be better at getting under Lightning's bot. The DSL bracket looks pretty standard; Raiden, Wraith, Catastrophe, and Steel Raptor 3 never lost to anybody except each other, where Catastrophe faced SR3 in both finals and Wraith faced Catastrophe in two semi-finals. Attack Squadron actually had the makings of a solid Loser's run, but it was cut short by none other than its old nemesis, Vespin.
IF: There were some intense wedge wars happening, but UberPyro's bot seems to have trouble doing damage against a chassis shape like 09's, which made use of the crazy powerful burst motors in IF. In fact, they're so powerful that they can make the physics engine think this is a WWE game...those ring-out throws were pretty funny; had no idea that sort of thing was possible. Once again, the elite four were gamer, Titchmarshmallow, Mess Maker, and literally not hitler, who lost to no entries besides each other. Still, Mess Maker proved itself in clean 2-0's against both gamer and Titch to repeat finals appearances against literally not hitler. And Rush had a pretty solid Loser's run after an unfortunate third-round exit against the eventual finalist, Mess Maker. It plowed through four more Loser's matchups before meeting its end against another respectable opponent in Titch.
Stock: Now this is the meta I can actually talk about! I was hoping for the finals matchup with 09 to be as close as our first meeting, where I nearly got KO'd in the first 10 seconds of the second round and got by on a WBP, so it definitely went better than expected. But I'm happy that my bot got to show off one last classic nut in both timelines; it's been quite a few rounds since it last happened (a fitting end to no-nut November). Alter Ego 2 ended up being my bot's real finals matchup; one that I would probably consider to be the best match in the Stock bracket. My run was still pretty lucky with three close 2-1 wins along the way, and was definitely not what I expected out of my bot...I just wanted to enter a unique design that would be fun to watch and does well against a few of the major bot types (primarily popups, but I only faced one and it didn't even go that well). All I tested it on was a dummy chassis bot to see if it could get consistent KO's, so I was expecting something like a round 3 or 4 run. I definitely have 09 to thank for eliminating those two pesky 9HS for me and giving me a comfortable finals matchup.
Speaking of which, there were plenty of other good storylines happening in this bracket. 09 had a slightly early semi-finals exit against me, and showed that he was the rightful finalist by cleaning up against NC and Reier (props to making finals in two metas, by the way). Again, I'm lucky that his bot handled 9HS so well, and was quite surprised to see that he only had a 2-1 win against NC...I forgot he got his hammer knocked off in one of the rounds. And I think the 2-1 against Reier is a typo, because it's a quick 2-0 in Geice's video.
Additional props to Roboteer for somehow making it to Winner's semi-finals. I remember not expecting much out of Assbot 9 Million and 1 and its inexperienced Stock builder at the start of the tournament, but it had a very clean run leading up to a loss against Alter Ego 2, eliminating some scary opponents like Butt and Four Seasons Utsuhime with the reach of its spinning irons.
But my favourite run has got to be by NC's Borderline Fruit Offender. It was a powerful and well-built LW HS which lost in the Winner's bracket in only round 2 after an incredibly close match featuring the classic 9HS vs. CPIV-style matchup with Geice's Child Toucher. Not to be outdone, it then went on an absolute tear through Loser's, 2-0ing five opponents before getting a chance at redemption against Child Toucher once again. This time, it was not going to let its run come to an end and came through with a 2-0 revenge against Geice. A quick dispatch of Roboteer for its 7th 2-0 in a row left it face-to-face with 09's TURN DOWN FOR WHAT, where it tried its best to be the only HS to clutch a win against his hammer bot, but finally fell short in a 2-1 loss. Still a great run ended by losing to an eventual finalist, and I'm disappointed we didn't get to see it face Alter Ego 2.
Thank you to Badnik and Geice for their hard work hosting this tournament. It was certainly no easy task filming matches between 145 bots across 3 different metas! I definitely had a fun time watching the matches and seeing the brackets develop.

Couldn't ask for a better finals matchup; it's gonna be close! At least I get two chances but this is just a really unstable matchup to predict.

BEEP BEEP IT'S THA MUTHA****IN SPOOK POLICE, Y'ALL BETTER HAVE SOME OF THAT HALLOWEEN SPIRIT It's finally Halloween! Hope everyone enjoyed their October as much as I did. Although I didn't trick-or-treat, I managed to get a good haul of candy and snacks from random school events. And, of course, watched all sorts of shows, movies and videos as per tradition. Hilda is a fantastic fall show that came out last month on Netflix and has been great so far. Gumball has a boatload of good spooky episodes and took over for my Spongebob specials this year. Ultimate Custom Night is absolutely insane and I can not wrap my head around how people have beaten 50/20 mode when I can't even get halfway through 50/1. Going over some of my old SCP favourites was a fun read, and I looked at a few new ones as well (I recommend 1875 for a good Halloween one). And, Over the Garden Wall remains my favourite thing to watch in the fall; I really can't get enough of it. Delta Rune saw a surprise release today so I'll have to take a look at that too! Lots of other things I watched but I won't bore you with the complete list... Hope you enjoy the rest of your Halloween night - until next year!

DDLC
who is best doki
I really like the sound of rain... Not so much getting my clothes and hair wet, though. But a nice, quiet day at home with the sound of rainfall outside my window... It's one of the most calming experiences for me. Sonic Mania, Undertale, Oneshot, Kirby Superstar, ShellShock Live...
Just to name a few.
I like this too.

I don't think excluding RA2 in the subject line changes anyone's answers...anyway, I have a wide variety of games I could list for very different reasons, but here are some of the more recent ones: DDLC Celeste The Witness Frog Fractions 2 Undertale Cookie Clicker top 5 is something like Undertale Portal 2 Kirby: Planet Robobot Pokemon Sun Super Mario Galaxy
This is great taste.

Wow, I am slow this year! It's already been a couple of days since we entered the comfiest, spooktaculariest, sitting-in-your-couch-with-a-blanket-and-hot-cocoa-while-the-autumn-rain-patters-outside-the-window-iest month of the year! Anyone doing anything special this month, or planning something big for Halloween? As always, I'll be here re-watching OTGW, Nightmare Before Christmas, MJ's Thriller, and the Scaredy Pants and Graveyard Shift episodes from Spongebob. There may be some Scooby Doo, Coraline, Summerween/other cartoon Halloween specials, old horror movies, and creepypasta thrown in there as well. I always love this month!

09 vs. playzooki was a lot more boring than I expected, unfortunate that 09 got the left wheel off in both rounds NC vs. Robo was pretty one-sided, though Robo did somehow get more points in the second round
09 has been doing very well against single HS so far; let's see if he can get through the two 9-mace bots remaining. NC vs. Reier would also be pretty exciting.

HOLY **** THAT WAS A CLUTCH ROUND 3 WHAT IS GOING ON By far the most important and most exciting match I've had all tournament. First of all, there were so many things that I took for granted but ended up going completely wrong. My nutting attempt was somehow blocked by one of Reier's wheels every single round, though this might be related to the next thing. That being, I totally thought my weapons would fit under Reier's maces, but my bot was knocked aside every single time I went for a big hit. And the one I was most confident in was that 10 razors stacked together would earn more points than the 2 or 3 maces they hit, at least until they get knocked off a bit into the match, but Reier was consistently outscoring me in collisions, so WBP was pretty much out for me. Keeping all that in mind, Round 1 went pretty damn well, with Reier getting flipped over at the start and two clean chassis hits for the KO. Then Round 2 had me worried about the deciding matchup since I couldn't get a hit all 2 minutes and was consistently worse at racking up points, even with getting him flipped again. Round 3 probably started the worst possible way it could have - the wheel blocked my boxrush, and the hit wasn't good enough to get Reier flipped over a third time. For the first minute I'm pretty much just reduced to ramming over and over again only get knocked away and outscored by his spinner; getting both wheels doesn't even matter because the tribar provides enough wiggle movement. Once my wheel gets knocked off I think it's pretty much over, but it turns out the amount of battery power Reier's lost after 1.5 minutes slows his tribar enough to get me an immobilization with 18 seconds remaining. Crazy stuff. The fact that it happened in the winner's final just makes it even better. All three stock matches actually ended in the result I was hoping for; I don't want to face VB's low-lying spinner+plow and my matchup with Geice was too close to call last time. VB vs. playzooki was also an incredible watch for that reason and more. VB got the amazing points comeback in round 1 thanks to RNG of which weapons got knocked off and getting a hit in on the weapon motor. playzooki then showed that his weaponry easily nets him the win if his weapon motor just stays safe. I thought it was over in the last round once playzooki got flipped considering how round 1 went, but he pulled off an incredibly clutch self-right to get back in it and earn the win. It's been crazy how I've made it all the way to the finals; almost all of my matchups came down to incredibly close matches that I somehow ended up winning randomly. The rest of the bracket is going to be really exciting to watch.

WEEEEEEW that was an excellent round 2 of cat and mouse/avoiding the immobilization timer, I was waiting for the KO to come the entire match. Was happy to see Reier pull off the win in a close round 1 as well, since he's definitely the better matchup for me. [the NUT is not yet quenched] I feel like I would match up well against Reier and NC, badly against VB and Robo, and about even against the rest. The Geice vs. NC rematch will definitely be an interesting one.

Oh, so that's where I saw Badger's new bot before (it's been too long) Really close match with Geice!!! Thanks to expert kiting in round 1 and precision accuracy in round 3, my bot survived this matchup. Totally expected Reier to go immobile in round 1 once he got flipped Thought round 1 was over for Robo when he got stuck under the piston, but somehow he still came away with the win. Honestly, his bot has made it way further than I expected.
Looking forward to: Me vs. 09 AS vs. VB

Wow, thought for sure Lightning would take the round after seeing the first few seconds. Sage/NC was really fun to watch!

WEW that was pretty good. I was totally thinking the last match would be a repeat of the first one, but Black Bear's AI came through and kept it alive. Thanks freeziez for hosting this.

Uhh so you dropped a razor for HPZ drive? If you stack two anchors back-to-back for the drive instead of having an anchor with a T and two extenders, it'll give you weight for the third razor.
