Sounds good to me.

Do you have discord? Also I'd love to try ED sometime! But have no idea how to set it up for pc.

Yup. I sure do. I'll pm the tag in case you want it.

You seem very knowledgeable about this game (Arenas of Destruction)
Mind if I pick your brain a little so I can figure out a way to make the house robots playable on the PS2 version? I cannot seem to find the IDs/values of the player robots so that I can try other values. I usually do this method for fighting games, where it's just changing a single byte to play as that character ID.

Hoping you might have some ideas as to what the playable robots' IDs are in the PC version so I could try searching for them on the ps2 version with cheat engine.

UPDATE: I have figured out how to put the house robots in the player garage on the ps2 version! All that is left now is to figure out how to make Sgt. Bash's pincer work instead of the saw blade while still keeping the blade on the back, do you have any insights into how that may be done/what to look for in cheat engine to achive that like what you did on the PC one? I instead removed his saw blade entirely, this made the pincer work on the front like normal like in the second vid.

I've tried this as well... but never made it. I will see if I can get this going on my PlayStation 3 with my PlayStation 2 copy of the game as well. Thanks for keeping this thread alive by the way. I think this game is awesome, along with Extreme Destruction as well.

Edit: Have you made this work on the actual console? I never did any modding on the console version(s) of the game(s)...

Edit2: Also, I've been trying to get this to work on the Game Boy Advance version of Extreme Destruction, but no go... I would want to get the house robots playable there as well.

I thought this was a nice shot of The Second Wars/Series 2-inspired introductory of the house robots.

I know this topic is old, and the forum is largely inactive in most places, but I wanted to ask something about this game.

I recently put the non-patched version of Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction (v1.0) into the game folder (I discovered I have two copies of the game that are different prints of the disc with both versions 1.0 and 1.2, see photo attached).

So, to the question; Has anybody got the game's sound effects to work for the in-battle weapon sounds in the un-patched, 1.0 version of the game? I have never got it to work. The only solution for me at the moment is to patch the game to 1.2.

EDIT: I read on an archived forum for arenasofdestruction.com that you need to delete the system.dat which holds many settings for the game, restart and then run the game in 640x480 to keep it from disabling the sound effects. Weird.

More work on the colossus. Narrowed him down and made more tweaks on the hammer. Here he poses for the camera, holding Series 8/The Eigth Wars champion Apollo aloft.

Some more.

Matilda. Pre series 4. Now with sharper horns and tusks for puncturing armour.

Sir Killalot with his enlarged jaws, now angled to give a razor sharp edge for cutting as well as crushing and grabbing of course.

Fourth wars podium. I found this old render, before I messed up, and lost the ripped arena. All my robots are fine though.

11 years and he's finally done it
Well, back in 2010 I was still quite new to 3D but that's also when the idea sparked into a fire to recreate the house robots. In the very beginning (2006) I started out with 3ds Max. When I found out about Blender in 2015, being a free program, I started using that instead. By 2018, I started the creation process of the new house robots. The project file of the new Matilda went lost, and so I restarted that project in late 2019, and finished all the new one's in 2020 along with the old one's.

Next I will try to put better procedurally-made materials on them. And who knows... maybe a proper introduction to the old and new one's is in place as well (maybe for YouTube ).

Hi AWGaming2020!

Well, I didn't convert the models from the game. I used a 3D ripper (3D Ripper DX) to extract the models from the game. Then I imported them into Blender. You can find the 3D Ripper DX here.
Sorry for the late reply lol, but I'm trying to do this myself, and I'm pretty stuck
I'm able to get the models and import them into Blender, but they're all slanted and distorted, some dont even show up at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Better late than never, hehe. Well, you need to open the obj file with a text editor (I use Windows 10's standard Notepad) and check the scaling of the scene right at the start. In x and y. Then you can also rotate the scene to your liking. If you know how to import the obj into Blender, then this shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck!
Thank you very much!

A little late, but anyway... Anytime! Glad I could help!

... and some fine-tweaking of Mr. Psycho's claw. Making the arm a bit shorter, and the tips of the claw a bit more pointy. As well as adjusting his hammer elbow.

Some more sculpting work done on Matilda's crest. I also "repainted" the same-coloured tusks and horns.
