first match my bot gets inverted only because of a havok by the other bot, and then loses due to it.
third match my bot gets stuck in the ground due to another havok by the other bot, and then loses due to it.
I understand Kossokei outweapons me by quite a bit, I don't mind that. Understand that I was on the losing side in the third match as well. But the constant havoking that keeps changing the match outcomes...
Honestly I just got sick of re-recording that match and used the least-bad havoks I could. You make a good point though. I will do my best to record you a havok-free match. Also, my next tournament will definitely have a havok forfeit rule; not having one was a mistake.
I think Lucius will still manage to outweapon you, though. EDIT: Recorded for 30-40 minutes last night; these were the best matches I got: Didn't do my usual editing stuff because lazy, plus I was kinda sick of seeing this match. There's a pretty obvious havok in round 3, but it happened after Blade Assault lost its weapon rack, so I don't consider it "match altering". I'll put more effort into the other grudge matches. Speaking of which, the ones I'm gonna do so far are: A match between the 2 chicken drills would be great
Clamp rumble. I'd pay to see that.
Not doing this because I donno how: requesting a 4 way rumble with my bots, except with the starting points outside the arena

robot: It's trying to be a DSL version of Sealion Hammersmith. One thing I've noticed is that the single vertical arm is too weak for the bot to self-right, so that's not great. I need to add some kind of trappy-thing at the front. Also I have no idea what to do with the batteries; the motors say how many amps they take but all the batteries just give me "power units". Forgot to put the weight on the splash. It's 796.0.

What's the ruling on the Component Freedom stuff? Is any of it legal?

I feel that a restart is warranted for the last round of Naryar vs Kosso.
You mean where Naryar got embedded in the ground? I left that in on the reasoning that he had ~15 seconds left and was ~50,000 points down, so he wasn't going to win anyway. Or did something happen earlier in the match? Also, this is a bit of an off topic thing, but I heard something in the beginning of the third round of AS vs. Geice. What was that song/sound?
Congratulations, you've found bad editing! You're hearing a couple second of George Woodman - I set it as the main menu theme in-game. Usually I edit so the video starts right at the first buzzer - must have overlooked that one.

Alright, so I know some people were kinda disappointed that I decided to go with some weird trolly gimmick rather than just what I said the tournament would be in the Signups thread. Well, since I have all the bots ready to go anyway, I figure I might as well run that tournament too. I've uploaded all the rival v rival matches already; I'll put up a bracket with all the winning rivals soon. TheRedBlur vs DeadGenocide: RedAce vs Squirrel_Monkey: Naryar vs Kossokei: 090901 vs ty4er: Silverfish vs Sircreepalot2: Mr. AS vs Geice: Bobyasianboy vs Gauche Suede: Mystic2000 vs KingofKings696: Interesting note: Boby lost to Gauche this time around.

Honestly, I would've stuck with the Finale music for the true final battle
Actually yeah, I guess I could have done that. Anyway, here's a blooper reel I put together, mostly to make myself feel better about keeping all the matches that I couldn't use due to havoks:

Here it is! The final match!
We're not quite done with this tournament yet, though. I've got a couple of bonus episodes I want to put together for y'all. Stay tuned for those!

I'm really sorry about the delay on this episode. Between real life, havoks, and game crashes, it was a bit of a pain. But, here it is: A8ER got destroyed AND eliminated in the third round. Ouch.

Update: I've spent about an hour trying to record this match. I have one usable round so far.
EDIT: Scratch that, zero usable rounds. This one is too havoky.

I don't do modding but shouldn't it be quite easy to raise the elimination zone up a bit?
You would think, but when I was looking at the arena file earlier (to change out the start points), I didn't notice anything clearly labeled "kill_zone" or whatever. (The start points were labeled "startpoint" or something like that, so those were easy to swap.) Yugi makes a good point though.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to this. Seems like the general consensus is to just record the match anyway, so I'll do that later today unless anyone has any better ideas.

Is the "all attachment points can attach to all other attachment points" thing OK or not?

Then it can just drive around down there. It can drive under the arena too - there's no collision on the walls since bots aren't supposed to be there.

Alright, so I'm running into a problem recording the next match.
Mr. AS's bot is too tall to be eliminated once it gets flipped out of the arena. This means that RedAce and Squirrel_Monkey's bots still go after Mr. AS's, even though it's completely unreachable. This leaves RedAce and Squirrel_Monkey wide open to attack, since they're just sitting there, trying to hit a bot that's under the arena.
Any idea how to fix this?

Finale Last Episode
I would have worked in more, but I couldn't figure out how to do so without soundly completely forced. EDIT: Grudge match request: Rusty Death Plunger vs KillerHond 2

Wow, that was crazy. Oblivion was nearly dead too-can't believe that happened.
Ammunition didn't have any trouble with those armor plates this time around.
Donno what Immortal was up to, but it didn't matter.
GG guys, it was a good fight. And a huge thanks to RedAce - it was an awesome tournament, and you did a great job making the videos exciting. I see what you mean about the Finale being a bit short, but you did what you could with it. Timing the start of the Stock match with the music was awesome. Even if it was short, I think it was a good Last Episode to go out on.
It's been fun. Thanks again for the great tournament.
