Accepting all challenges, as long as you think of a really stupid gimmick for them.

Oh, right, forgot that was how that worked.

I'll just run a different gimmick; having to check each bot to see if anything is clipping the chassis seems like too much effort.

Good thoughts.  What about something like, "if your chassis is smaller than x squares, you can't use caster armor"?  Or should it just be a flat-out ban?

Would anyone be interested in a tournament with the same ruleset as my latest challenge with RedAce: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=19063.0?  That is, all of the SergePatcher fuctions would be allowed.

On one hand, I feel like it would let people really build some crazy designs.  On the other hand, it would probably turn into "which of these 16 identical HSes will win?"

ok we're getting somewhere

This version's pretty decent, far as I can tell.  Tested it against some of the Rival Rumble bots and the wedge seems decent.  It can kinda self-right by randomly wiggling until it flips over, so that's better than nothing.  Got rid of the ant saws because they fell off too quickly.  Two large black batteries plus one small black battery.

That looks a lot better, but I reccommend dropping down to only one top hammer, in order to give your bot bottom protection and tougher armour.

In my testing, it couldn't self-right with only one top hammer.  But then, it can't really self-right with the balance sheet in the back, so i donno/

How do I enter?
Make sure your bot is made in DSL and is a HW. Just making sure since all your videos use stock bots.

Then upload your bot through this link. The exported bot file will be in [DSL install loaction]/Robot Designs. The bots in this competition will be pretty high-level and efficient unlike the IRL style bots in your videos though, so keep that in mind. Just making sure.

Just adding on: once you upload the bot, send a PM to the tournament host with the link to the bot.

Good luck!

Someone challenge me pls. Anyone.
Okay.  I'm cool with whatever mod and weightclass you prefer.
Feeling like a DSL BW match. You cool w/ the RA2t#2 arena?

I can host now that Rival Rumble is done.

the sequel:

799.2 kg
Titanium 1 because yolo
5 saws per arm

Right, so this one generally works better than the first version.  It needs a whole dang nuclear reactor to power it due to all the hammer arms, but whatever.  The skirt at the back stops it from flipping backwards, but also makes it have trouble self-righting.  Without the panel it self-rights fine, but can flip itself onto its back.  Also, I think I need to increase the reach of the weapons - every time it fights a bot with long skirts on front (read: every DSL bot) it ends up just swinging at the air.

They look kinda weird in the picture, but the lower extenders on the vertical arm are polycarb.  The front catcher thing is held on by a really janky carbon fiber/aluminum corner setup.

Wow, I totally missed this.

Thanks for hosting Badger!

Alright, thank you all for a great tournament.  I had a lot of fun with most of it.

Here's an awards thread, if you're into that kinda thing.

SBV thread: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=18991.0

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who entered.  This tournament wouldn't have worked without all 16 bots, and I was worried that someone would slack off and not send anything.  Turned out not to be an issue though, so thanks for that!

Next, I have an INCREDIBLE prize for the winners.  Bobyasianboy, for winning Friendship Rumble, and KingofKings696, for winning Rival Rumble, may enter a bot 0.1 kg over the weight limit in my next tournament.  Also, you can have the edited arena file if you want it, I guess?

I have some awards I want to hand out, and some other ones for y'all to vote on.  My awards are:

-BIGGEST TROLL: Thrackerzod

-FAVORITE BOT NAMED AFTER A QUIPLASH STREAM: Two Scarves

-LEAST LIKELY TO BE ELIMINATED: literally just re\/olution but in dsl

-BEST USE OF HYBRID RULE: 5x

-BEST BOT WITH A QUESTION MARK IN ITS NAME: Who Needs Research?

-BEST BOT WITH AN EXCLAMATION POINT IN ITS NAME: Mister Smash Smash Bash-Kun!

-BEST BUILDER WHO HAS COMPETED IN ALL OF MY TOURNAMENTS: RedAce

-BEST LOGOS: Pizzaguy2020

And here are the ones for y'all to vote on:

-FAVORITE BOT:

-MOST UNLUCKIEST:

-BEST TEAM SYNERGY:

-GOT THE MOST SCREWED BY THE GIMMICK:

-FAVORITE EPISODE:

Mr. AS was wondering what the finale would have been like with only his bot, or only RedAce's bot competing.

Can I have the final done as a rematch once with me and no RedAce, and once with RedAce and not me?

I did one round with Carbon Dragon, one with Two Scarves, one with two Carbon Dragons, and one with two Two Scarveses:

Last but not least id like to see if my design could handle carbon dragon i believe my design is one of the few that can damage it directly

You got it:

There's a sweet barrel roll in round 3.

Honestly surprised I won thought for sure Night Man would outwedge me which he did but my bot seemed to get setup to the side enough to slide under multiple bots with rack based systems. Thank you for hosting this tournament thrack hope for more these were fun. PS who said a 5x hybrid wouldn't work lol.

I was surprised too, especially since your bot can't self-right.  Congratulations!

A match between the 2 chicken drills would be great

Done:

Clamp rumble.  I'd pay to see that.

Done:

Thanks for your suggestions!  I'll still take match requests for some indeterminate period of time, so if you have one, say it soon!
