Also, do we all have to speak in spoiler tags here now? its really annoying. :/

Only right after new videos are posted.  Once it gets like 10-15 replies, or it's been a couple days, it generally doesn't matter whether you use spoilers.

But of course those are more like guidelines than actual rules.

Also I'm not sure why Nary is picking on Blood Shed; it's doing a lot better than some other more recent bots like Big Dog or The Injection or Bullet Train.  Maybe it's because of that one time Blood Shed lost to EMERGENCY by points.

I think you would need a narrow "waist" in the chassis dividing it into two halves to do the 360 degree hammer thing IRL though.

As for the AGOD, try using a different motor.  I've had the same problem with NPC's, and I've found Piglets AGOD less (which is why I use one in Bisector).  As long as you use some counterweight, a Piglet can easily lift a 30kg sledgehammer.

VBD needs some extra extender work around the Perm axles for that last bit of IRL realism... otherwise looks great.

Titanium Terror reminds me of Flee Beetle with a weapon.  I don't suppose it can fly with the piston?

Hoo boy, 3 bots in one post.  You'll forgive me if I got lazy with the splashes.

First here's 6 Impossible Things, my In The Air Tonight bot.

Pretty basic VS, with a twist that I'm not going to reveal just yet (so no one copies me).  The Whirl-wep disc in the back is to keep the weapons off the ground.  And it's a disc because a static stabilizer had too much drag and the bot couldn't move.  And it's a Whirl-wep disc because I needed something round, durable, and preferably doing some damage so I'm not TOTALLY wasting weight.

3 ants, 2 Tornado Mer gearboxes, 5mm Ti armor.

Secondly here's Epitaph 2.

I actually had this sitting in my bot lab waiting to be skinned for about a year or something, and Battlebots 3 was the perfect opportunity to bring it out.  Now you may be asking what's up with the random Sir Killalot drill on the side breaking up the symmetry.  Well it's actually there for a good reason... front-oriented invertible HS like this tend to get flanked easily which makes the wheels big targets, and once a bot gets in your rear it's almost impossible to shake them off.  The spinner spins bots into that drill there, which protects the wheel, makes it more difficult to get in Epitaph's rear, and also does some damage.  The other side doesn't need protection because of the way the spinner spins.

3 ants, 3mm plastic.

Finally...

A wild Garbodor appeared!

Should be obvious why I built this.  I took some artistic license and actually covered it in "trash" you might find on the arena floor after a battle, rather than just skinning it a splotchy brown.  Overall I like the effect.  It's kind of like WreckTangle.

As for weapons it has two AGOD flail (fail?) arms of doom.  Despite AGOD and lack of balance, they spin slow enough the bot doesn't destabilize.

4 ants, Magmotor drive, 3mm plastic.  Yeah it's pretty worthless in combat.  But that's not the point of Getehem now is it.  (Garbodor isn't that great in the Pokemon games either, so it makes sense.)

Round 5 is up!

There are no damageless fights this round... in every fight, some bot is going to take some damage.

Also, I've added a running record of who's currently in the lead for each award on the bot statistics page.

And FINALLY... a rather important announcement.  Now that I have a good idea of the pace of this tournament, and I have a good idea that it's a bit on the slow side, I've decided to go with the "plan B" option I had in the rules for the finals:  The fight to the death stage will start once there are 16 bots remaining.  Those 16 bots will go into 4 rumbles, and whatever 4 bots survive will go into the final fight to the death to decide the champion.

I like the covered-in-spikes look of that bot.

It's not powerful enough for a SHW, though.  4-bar lifters in general aren't very effective in RA2.  If you insist on a Ziggy-style flipper, you'll probably need a Beta burst in there to get any results.

You can successfully build a wedge/HS hybrid, but you need two spinners.  See T-400 in Starcore v3 or that one red bot in Inf AI (I think it's Kontra?).

Next Challenge... BW Bottom Spinner:
(Image removed from quote.)
Any advice's how I can improve it? 2 pinks btw.

Use an angle motor and make it invertible.  Maybe with the extra 5 kgs you could expand the chassis and use a Nifty to fully power it.

Slight bump.

Whenever I need to test invertibility/self-righteousness, I just fire up FB's cheat mode in the F9 window and type cheats.fly().  Then keep hitting enter until the bot lands upside down.

Cool bot.

Switching to a Nifty and ditching the ram plate will only get you enough weight for 3 more irons though... maybe use razors instead, just so you can have better coverage across the chassis?

Brilliant setup on the MW.  Looks like a really nasty bot.

In the process of powerleveling my Volcarona so it learns Fiery Dance.

I assume we're using Sleep Clause for this as well (only 1 Pokemon asleep at a time per side except Pokemon asleep from Rest)?

Remember, you could always have it worse... you could be Golden Sun.  IMO it has had the worst matchups of any bot in this tournament.  First it was Bullet Train which wasn't so bad, but then it fought T-888 Terminator, Supernovae 2.1, and The Beast all in a row.  That kind of onslaught of HS's isn't easy to survive.  Yet you don't see RPJK complaining...

Good, entries are trickling in slowly.  I have time to build something.  (Got an idea I think will work that doesn't depend on thrusters.)

Ant Army is on the exchange.  Good luck driving it with only 2 hands though. :P  Maybe you IRL pals like G.K./S_M's posse could team up to drive it against AI opponents.

An Artbot that doesnt fight well?.. Well done captain obvious..

It is an SnS by the way

Not a trap/hammer?  I am disappoint.  It looks a lot cooler in the bot lab than it does in battle.  (Still a nice bit of BFE'ing though.)

Hey Click, is the arena using any addPOVs or a modified GetPath method?
My guess for why Triceratops rammed the spinner is because RPM was behind the collision lines for the spikes, and Triceratops was trying to find a way around them to hit it.  It encountered the POV's around the blade and decided to follow them into the blade, rather than around it.  (The arena has POV's so the AI will navigate around the blade and the hammer).  If anything had broken as a result of Triceratops's bumbling, I would have re-filmed that match due to unforgivable AI incompetence, but since nothing happened I kept it.  (There was one other case of unforgivable AI incompetence I had to throw out and re-film, where The Beast turned around at the start of the match and hugged the spikes for the full 30 seconds, losing a bunch of bear claws and doing absolutely nothing to the opponent.  :laughing )

BlackVein probably gets turned around because you gave it a radius of 3.5, which is pretty big.  So the AI will attempt to steer around obstacles before it actually reaches them, hence the weird turning.  All the other bots that I AI'd use a radius of 1-1.2; do you want BlackVein to have a smaller radius for future fights?

And finally, you're all wondering why RPM randomly havoked against Triceratops.  It's not because of the new melty brain AI I gave it.  It actually havoks against any bot with a wedge for some reason.  All of its opponents until Triceratops have been wedgeless rammers, so it's been fine.

And finally finally, you're all wondering whether I'm going to say that round 4 is up in this post... so I will.  Round 4 is up!

I'll enter.

Also,

-Standard Wi-fi rules with Smogon clauses (no evasion moves, OHKO moves, psuedo-legends: Wobbufett, Garchomp, Speed Boost Blaziken...)

-Level 50. IIRC it auto-levels them.

The game scales down Pokemon over level 50 to level 50, but it doesn't level up ones that are under 50.  Something to be aware of.

Clarification: Gazea's 'pseudo-legends' refers to Pokemon in the 'Uber' tier... for refrence: http://www.smogon.com/bw/tiers/uber <anything on that list is banned.  (It seems Wobbufett is no longer Uber though, so I guess it would now be allowed.)

Also, the ability Moody and the combination of Drizzle and Swift Swim on the same team are considered Uber as well--are we banning those for this?

Finally, the game has its own wi-fi rules which ban any cover legendaries or event legendaries and also require each Pokemon to be holding a different item.  The only way around these restrictions is to use the 'unrestricted' mode which wouldn't work as there is no level 50 scaling for that, so we'll just have to live with it.  Something to be aware of.

Crawler from the West is a hilarious concept.  It really should be taller (and not invertible) for maximum authenticity though.

Round 3 uploaded, and it's the most destructive one overall so far.  At the end of this round, there is only one bot left that still has no damage.

This tournament's off to a bit of a slow start but in a couple more rounds, bots should start dropping like flies.
