Chatterbox / Re: I will leave from GTM... ...maybe
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:50:47 AM »
You DO realize GTM has about 3,000 members, right?

949 like Jonzu said, 950 now.
However, only 639 have contributed -something- to the forum.
Only 294 have made 10 posts.
And 112 more then 100 posts.

So yeah, even smaller then you think, and much smaller from there.

Anyway, Jonzu, glad to see you're staying. Don't think for one moment you're the only unusual one here.
EDIT: FFFFF I didn't realize the last post I made made a 1337 post count!

Custom Components are allowed, but only if they are balanced. You must send the components with the bot.

there is no actual way to guarantee that unless you either do it yourself or give a set formula for each component type and check the end product

(I guess 123's formulas could help out here)

Yeah, I think I typed out the whole concussion/piercing/hitpoints/weight formula into Google and used it like that. Useful while I was working on that mod.
Doesn't seem to be in my bookmarks.. I'd have to type it out again.

Ofcourse, it wouldn't factor in fracture. Fracture could be a problem for this tourney.

Nice to see a rammer in this apparently limited-type BBEANS.

Dominating a MKWii 150cc Singleplayer race to be beat down by shell right before the finish line.

I stopped trying to complete the game a -long- time ago.

Could of been a one off in this case but suspicions could be thrown over other races. And the fact the race was distinctly seperated at the finish by what heat the people were in.

5+ second gaps are pretty nuts for 40 seconds races, as I mentioned before, when the race has no faults (Like serious crashes)

EDIT: I think I was a bit skeptic. I looked through old results and found they were much better matched. It seems really weird still.. but eh.

awesome work ACAMS

LOL bet Urjak feels special, having his own tick box

Double-edged sword. :P We'll be able to exclude him and him alone from seeing our stuff and everything.

Dah, got my predictions all wrong. However, everyone stayed within their own heat. (As in, the two people of a heat finished distinctively together)

Looking at the results, while people have probably already figured it out, that should be the final nail in the coffin that people's cars are differently matched.

If they were evenly matched then me and Temi wouldn't be over 12 seconds behind.. in a 40 second race.
Same, but less so for Jack and 090901.

I've been running 10 kilo races for ages (Usually lasts around 2 minutes) , balancing my cars, and at the most, last place is behind by 8 seconds.
6% of a 19~24 lap race slower... rather then over 34% in 3 laps.

:O Well.. couldn't really fit them without overstretching the chassis. It'd be considerably bigger on Dynamo, maybe not so much on Spinbot, but the components are pretty well compacted into both chassis.

What?

My girlfriend's 3 year old sister kicked that game's ass...

It's well known that MKWii has a very potent slingshot AI.
Basically, it's tactics the game employs to keep an AI in a fighting position with the player. It can be unreasoned speed boosts, or more chance of what the computer needs, whatever, aslong as the AI keeps up or surpasses the player.

I don't know if the AI are faster, but it's definite that they get more items that attack the player when he's leading by a stretch. Red shell and blue shell.

Been working on those AWs, they're coming along. Much smaller chassis.

But for now we move up a class - to the BWs.

Aluminum 3 I think it was.

Dynamo is slower then it's previous form, but all it means is that it's not nimble enough to kill higher classes. The Storm piston still makes it push forward quickly, with enough force to send opponent robots tumbling across the combat arena, but now with double the razor tips... damage has been clocked at 1000~1600 so far.
It also has a havok problem - After being loaded a few times it cannot turn without havoking. Probably the shiny hubs.

Plastic 1 or 3mm.

Generic SnS shell spinner. I don't know if anyone has made one this light and with this many razor tips, though. Damage is good, though a problem arises with the disc - it's a bit fragile, leaving lucky VSs, high weapon HSs, hammers and popups (when upside down ofcourse) to attack and ultimately leave it weaponless.

I'd rather eat out the rotten arsehole of a roadkilled skunk than play that again.

You forgot to drown it with beer.

To make things a bit more varied...

Destruction Derby 2. Destruction derby in the Death Bowl arena, on Total Destruction mode.

Think of it like this:
In a race, or derby, there are 20 cars, including yours.
Every car is as durable as eachother.
The Death Bowl arena is compact, and one side of the arena has a massive sloped pit. Going in it is a scripted kill - not even Action Replay cheats for no damage will prevent retirement.

In Destruction Derby (actual derbies ingame, not general gameplay) Total Destruction mode, it's 19v1, and you're the one.

If you're not wasted from 19 cars turning to crash right into you one after the other while you can't do anything but take it, then you're most likely going into the pit.

It can take as little as 5 seconds, and only less if you drive into the pit yourself.

Awesome,. Yes, let's have those finals.
Looking at the average speeds.. I was the slowest of the winners by far, the fastest lap was much slower in my heat, and it's apparent that the other heats had close podium finishers for a 40 second race.

As such.. hoping I understand the finals system enough (1st and 2nd through) ... I'll predict the outcome.
1st 090901
2nd Jack Daniels
3rd Jonzu
4th SSG
5th Me
6th Temi

Hmmm.. been doing some extra testing in the BBEANS2 arena.

The 8 razor flail I made somewhere in this thread was KOed by my new intended entry in 3 seconds.

Just downloaded NAR AI, and I tested against Bane II to simulate 8 flail fights;
The 8 razor flail bot decimates it, taking a bit of damage itself.
Current entry had problems, but would of won if not for a havok.
Intended entry decimates it, taking hardly any damage at all. It was never in trouble.

Got two different-match pictures of Bane with all external components detached. What's so good about it, seriously?
I think I'll start testing my BWs on it. Probably starting with Dynamo.
