I might make one after the final 4 have been decided, that means a 24 bracket, it would be separate from the main bracket however (so no winner vs winner final) I plan of whipping up a few novelty prizes for the winners.

so deadline time send in bots you have until the 23rd of September to get your entries in (added another week because the bracket was only just decided)

I like the idea:smiley:. For the prizes you should have medeival type prices or something, For example I think a prize like The Excalibur sword would be cool:cool:.

ok so this is a possable idea

  • shave the bracket down to 28 (so one more space open or can be filled by a "house" jousting bot)
  • so after round 1 there will be 14 remaining,
  • round 2 there will 7 remaining
  • and out of the 7 losers I take the robot that scored the highest amount of points in round 2 and return them to the bracket
  • giving 8 which can continue with a normal bracket

sound good ? Im just thinking as it looks like I will be pushing it for 32

I totally agree with this because this thread been up for awhile and I think most everybody has seen it. Also if you did this you will be able to start the tourney sooner. This is going to be a fun tourney I just know it:-D. You also could do a loser bracket to if you wanted;).

it may be fragile but I still <3 the shini design :P I actually starting trying to build a stock version.

also just so people know, despite wanting my bots to succeed winning isnt the main goal, I am basically continuing my servo boosting/ gyratory work in the AI department, I wrote a very basic py for my bots and am just wanting to see how they go. I dont think the mw will get a whole lot further (it will never beat doomaster, I know that for a fact) and I have a feeling either SSG will get the GR or it will havok its way out of the competition

so please no more cheap win/ ghey crawler insults :-D

I would love to see the py after you finish testing, Also I wouldn't worry about people throwing insults about the crawlers. I think it's pretty lame that people complain about that certain bot type, if they don't like them that much then maybe they should use the energy they used to bitch about them all the time and make a bot that can beat them"Simple Solution". Anyways I think it's funny how everybody gets worked up over them so I might just start entering them in tourney's for sh**s and giggles:evil:.

The saw is going trough the motor, use some kind of extender to attach it to so it doesnt if you want to keep it.

I think it's just the camera angle because if it was touching the motor I think it would come up red, but ill still look into it.

Be sure to use a Perm 132 S, otherwise the HP's will decrease drastically.

Ya thats what I'm using:smiley:.

Insides and Armour still the same
Changed the 80 perm to 132 perm ,Got rid of the tribars for a dsl bar and threw a 100cm saw on for more weaponary and to possibly block things from hitting the perm.

I can possibly push that date further but I need 5 more people and I will expand to 32 (I can always add in a couple "house" jousting bots)

actually I just had a thought....I may as well join too so 4 more people at least for a 32 expansion with 6 places in total available

Ya you might as well join:smiley:. If you and jack join and nobody else does then you will only have to make 3 house jousting bots.

Ok So I did the test with the Tail: And Guess what It dosent work just like I said:ermm:. The bot spins like a Vortex it does not move like a Crawler, only when hit and the spin is disrupted it acts like a crawler but then spins again(Alot of you by just looking at it think it's a Crawler, It is actully an SnS with Crawler traits"Hybrid"). Does anybody else have any ideas for better  controlled movement:smiley:.

the static axe will be like a tail. pushing against the ground so you can acually use it to move forward.

that bot is tough! i battled him and it is extremely had to hit the chassis.

I still don't see how it will work because the whole bot spins like a Vortex or Tornado, not in one direction. I have extra weight to work with so Ill give it a try and post results later:smiley:.

To answer your question, this kind of bot has been made before many times.

^^^^Dam  figures, I guess I'm not special no more:-(:-(:-(.

I just Had to make another of these as HW. Updates: 32 maces ,NPC'S fast, more battery power, and the spin up time  twice as fast, all these ingrediants equal= Pure ownage:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:. HW division beware muhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Also Am I the first person to make a bot like this I'm just curious :D.

@RR Can you please explain in depth more about the static axe and how it well help the control movement, I don't fully understand.

Since the hammers aren't going through the chassis, shrink its length a bit (but the not width, you're gonna need the wide stance). And try using the longest ME and attach the perm to that. Maybe you'll have the weight for the motor armor.

Ok ill try that and see if I have enough for motor armour:smiley:.

Armour 1mm titanium

This one of my favorites it's a SnS/Crawler Hybrid:evil:. Beats most of the middle weights and if it does lose it's only because it's gets out scored not destroyed, usally the HS"s  with the sledge hammers out score it.(It's never been destroyed not even close:evil:). I'm still trying to make the controlled movement better. It's also a Cube so it's between this and Angel Of War for CC3:smiley:.

Armour: 1mm titanium
Just a fun little MW I made for online battle. I would like to know away to protect the motor better. All ears for tips and help:smiley:.

I'm in college right now, and in the middle of a July-through-December work study.  It's a full-time job at the AP department of my college, and they don't make you take classes while you're on work study.  So basically, I don't have to take any more classes until 2010.

^^^^ thats sick I've never heard of work study like that:smiley:. What college do you go to?

You need Forward and LeftRight - Spin as well.

Also Spin is a button not a switch.

These bindings are for Pillar.py and FBS.PY - you can use Whipper that will use a smartzone, and no Spin command.

Get Phil's (and Mad's) AI-Chart-2.3 if you're starting to AI.

hmmm left/right thats what I was missing(do you know what the config. would be for left/ right 2WD) "FacePalm". My bot spin's off of a Switch(counterclockwise). Maybe I should change it to a button I'm not sure how it would work with a button of the top of my head but I think it will become clearer when I go into the bot lab. I've not learned how to Ai yet but I want to learn very soon, I might try to AI the SNS first after I read the guide for it.

How many controls should a SNS have?. Mine has 2: forward and backwards, and the switch that make the bot spin. It feels like I'm missing one but I'm not sure, I'm new to making sns:smiley:.
