Yes, they have changed usernames before, so they might change yours (idk though). For example, Kurt used to be Kurt Wylde, KOS used to be KOS_Flow, Mr. AS used to be Mr. AwesumSauce, Yugitom used to be Yug1tom, and I used to be Mechadino999The thing all these have in common is that they're small changes, a whole new username is probably less likely to be changed.

hi  Made this klone:     Name and skin are WIP. So yeah, I saw Sage's post in silverfish's showcase and thought I'd give it a try. I just wanted to see if i could make it, I'm not gonna enter it in anything or something stupid like that. (It's also not that effective :>, but that wasn't it's purpose anyway.)
