If it's any consolation I've had no problems running and recording Ironforge. Does this only happen when you record? What hardware and OS are you all running?

Well, I decided to try it out myself and when it launched it windows prompted me to install DirectPlay first. This is a windows legacy feature that older games might require.
Might be worth checking it's installed and enabled.

I would accept static stacking of structural components legit for IRL style. So long as the actuator isn't wired to move then that's fine.

Well, U don't know what the time limits usually are but this tourney is entirely reliant on people building in an on going process.
So we might encounter some time issues. I can't be sure though.

You'll have 9 months to do this.

It's about time! Chinese Whispers is returning with its first venture into Ironforge!
This idea was tested here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=17854.0

I'm rusty with creating rules but here we go...

Ironforge MW

The weight limit for MW is 200kg in Ironforge. However the captain may add up to 4 ballasts free from this weight restriction at the end of the build.

Teams of 4 making each bot through the standard CW process.

-Team Captain submits a chassis with armour chosen.
-The remaining weight is divided amongst the team members.
-First builder must get within 10kg of the weight limit and send me their bot.
-Remaining weight is divided and building continues.
-Returned to captain to finish bot and skin etc...
NB:
-You must NOT change the armour.
-You must NOT rename the bot in any way as to reveal your team or discuss bot plans.
-You MAY move or rotate components as long as these changes are minor as confirmed by myself.
-DO NOT attempt to find out who is on your team or discuss your bots publicly.

Up to 8 captains with 24 builders (1 captain for every 3 builders)
Please indicate if you would like to be considered for captain. You shall be chosen by myself based on previous captaincy and general rank etc...
Teams will be assigned randomly in secret.

No BFE, AAM, Thyrus Glitch, ZeroG, Text Editing or any other out-of-game modification other than for skinning.
Robots must attempt to follow DSL realism rules but exception can be made at my discretion.
Multibots are allowed, but they are each limited to 100kg and 2 ballasts (i.e. even split). Both bots will be built together in the usual way.

Fights last 3 minutes.
Best of 3 matches with 1 havok restart available per individual fight.
Ring Arena will be used.
Captains may AI their bots. I can AI otherwise.
