really enjoying this so far. way more fun to watch as a host at least :) my thoughts: lightning v 8bean: i swear the clone matchup was total chance. really good fight though, i didn't know which way it was gonna go. it's constant twists like this that make even laggy pvp way more entertaining than ai. also fun fact 8bean's bot has about half the batteries it needs.
freeziez v cringey: freeziez boyyyoooo your bot is possibly a tad too fast. good job controlling what you had to work with though. i feel like cringey is an accountant or something irl, he likes to be very sure about his move before he makes it.
clickbeetle v thrackerzod: cb did a very good job working with what he had (mainly meaning no weapon). rolled with the punches real well, that's what you need to do. some people panic if something gets ripped off. there is still a losers bracket, keep an eye on him.

What I meant was, could some dipwad hijack your PC and delete system32 or something nasty.
Just seems like letting strangers on your computer is slightly risky.
It's not a problem here, but if anyone ever tried to do larger-scale Parsec tournaments, it could be. I hear that AI tournament hosts have to check any custom Python scripts they get sent now for that reason.
Anyway, ROUND 1 HYPE. I don't know what happened in the other fights, but there were some nail-biting moments in mine!
https://support.parsecgaming.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003442732-Security-At-Parsec-doesn't seem like there's much of a risk, but I guess you never know. I do know the host has the capability to instantly terminate all connections with a key command if needed. your second one was one of the better matches filmed today, always a pleasure

in IF you can totally get away with less weapon power with more weapons unlike DSL. you could probably use just a yellow ztek and not see much difference. might let you get a better setup for selfrighting too. 2 light plows in a V on the front might be better too with the higher fracture and all.

or you could just learn to build and not have to cheat

surely you have enough weight to get 18? maybe im senile. mine may have been plastic. clean build either way. i would definitely spin both weapons the same way though, otherwise you'll be having a harder time getting the surface area for big hits.

A standard stock robot with aesthetic value? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!
being well-designed = aesthetic value

with weapons that heavy does it spin fast enough to not have the hpz knocked off immediately?
rotating the drive motors 90 degs will help with maneuverability.
The hpz don't get knocked off but the tribars do.
Rotate drive motors how? I could use extenders to make them wider I suppose.
if you look at the drive motors head on this is what the hpz mesh looks like. red is hpz and black circle is the shiny. the one on the left is what yours looks like. there's a point on the motor where it extends below the wheel very slightly and can mess up drive performance. the right one usually works better

(I wonder though, is there any risk of sabotage if you let strangers push buttons on your keyboard?)
in theory yes. not much we can do about it unless one party uses a controller and one uses keyboard (the host can mutually exclude these) but many people don't have controllers and it's a bit tricky to get them going even so.
