i'm not sure about your badger robot, and the crunsher feels off because of how small of an area pokes ahead of the arm.

Alright, closing thoughts: iKa, please put some armor panels or something on your robots to make them look realistic. I want to like your stuff but so unrealistic (blood orange from sword of glory, anyone?). Demon, great bloody tournament. Jamie, well done on getting 4th. JDG: tortuga is good. Kurt: neat robots but what the **** was the XL swords configuration on dominotrix. AHOG: funny as ever but send 1 actual bot along with the memes please.

Raus will return. Prepare yourselves.

Worst Robot: Hell Spawn 1.2 (I'm honestly surprised this hasn't got a vote considering its no-win record. Its a shame, too, considering it could have done better had there been some tweaks.)
Finally someone agree to my embarrassment in bot building! Yet, I little surprised why no one actually thought about voting this bot for worst robot. It could just be because Hell Spawn 1.2 just happens to be that one bot that constantly slips under the radar, because of other Robots looking a lot worst than Hell Spawn like Red Claw or Skellachopper.

It's because Hell Spawn isn't total sh**. It's got a terrible record, but at least it looks decent, whereas compared to all other voted or considered robots:
  • The Sneaky Poke: Great banter, but... yeah. I'd kinda like to see something serious from Adam, because when you produce the PM's pulverizor, you do have some standards and expectations to live up to.
  • Tankslapper: Good replica but **** me this is a boring robot, it's literally a wedge with an ocasional flail. We've the Pay Tribute with Replicas thread for a reason Kurt.
  • Serenity in Murder: It's a box with a disc. Yawn.
  • Red Claw: Meh. Just not all that good. Bland and rushed.
  • Crash: 09 cmon this isn't the worst robot, but Crash in my opinion wasn't that funny tbh.
  • Hornbob: This robot is damn good, what are you smoking Orc?
  • Skellachopper: I kinda like it honestly but 3 maces and a somewhat bland design makes it possible to see why it got voted.

this is not funny.

Serious issues, made into jokes. This is why this community irks me.

Talking to about everyone here except Geice for this thread. And maybe Dreamcast

If this irks you, leave. Leave gym and don't come back.

Actually, to break the Best Battle deadlock, I'll change my vote for Best Battle to Losers Bracket Semi Finals, Sallymandra VS Tortuga Ninja VS Hornbob Fury VS Dominotrix.

hello i am new obviously
my real name is Zack I'm 17 and I'm from Queensland, Australia i have known about robot arena 2 for a while but didn't know about this place and found it recently i am a fan of nerdcubed and had the game refreshed in my memory after watching fauxbot wars and again more recently for whatever reason but only got the game a few days ago anyway I'm here now so I'm gonna look around anyone got any suggestions on where in the forums to head to first?
Hello, and welcome!

First place you will want to go is the Downloads section where you can download Robot Arena 2 working copies with mods pre-installed, such as DSL 2.2 (the main mod used currently), Ironforge (A good mod with excellent balancing but not too many tournaments), and Retooled (A new mod that recently was released in a alpha/beta and used in the Gametechmods Championship Series tournament).

Second place you'll want to go is the showcase section, where you can look at what other peop;e have built to obtain inspiration, and start your own showcase to show off what you have built so that we can give you constructive criticism.

Third place you'll want to go is the Tournament section, where you can see what tournaments are being discussed and planned, which tournaments are in signups, and which ones are currently at the SBV stage and are being run.

Also, have a look through the Tutorial and Tips board which can show you some of the techiques used by GTM builders.

spend more time on your robots

3 Are Done.
Stop ignoring people who know what they are doing.

Spend more time on your robots, make them actually good.

For me at least, I spend about 3-6 hours making a rough prototype of a robot. Then, I test it against several of the AI'd robots to see what can be improved, which takes another 1-2 hours. Then I continue the cycle until I have something good. It needs to look good, fight decent, and make me feel like I've achieved something.

I think they look decent.
4 hours is a lot of time. I only take a couple minutes to test.
I take at shortest 2 hours, and that often includes reusing old chassis,
So making 3 of them in the space of a day without testing or improving is a bad idea.A few minutes to test is not good: that's rushing a robot when there is no deadline for entries.

Spend time on your robots and make them look good.

Also showcase them first so we can tell you how to improve.

Sir Chromalot.  The shiny ones are hard, because they're always a different color depending on how the light hits them
(Image removed from quote.)
Can you make a replica pack with every single one of your replicas?
He's got too many and he's skinned components so much that it'd be a nightmare. However I too would like to see this happen, even if it was just Sonny's game install as is without any cleanups.

I got the laptop for a variety of things.
The OS is definitely not the problem.
In fact, lets say i was on Windows Server 2003.
My mom has 2 newer laptops 1 XP one 7 which dont work so i may be able to get some parts from them.
Sell the ME laptop for more than 26 bucks. Get your mom's XP laptop fixed. Play RA2 on the XP laptop.
