Both of you are wrong. And Redalert did something inadvertently correct for the wrong reasons. Y-connectors are fine in this specific case since one disc can only hold so much weapons. They don't target HS or any other bots better than a 4-weapon FS, it's just weapons for the sake of more weapons.
However, the bigger issues are that it's not invertible and the wedges are too short.

The reason the setup works on whatever Click made (Ludicrous Speed? I can't recall) is because on the limited freedom on its axle. With 90 degrees you can guarantee that the weapon will return to its position but with a freely spinning axle you'll probably have to move back and forth to nudge the weapon back.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Welcome to NOVA. This is a tournament series I am starting where I host a new bracket weekly/bi-weekly/whenever. Basically a mini-centauri with 4 competitors that I can do pretty casually. Each Nova will have a different theme/meta/gimmick/etc each time. I will use this topic for all novas since I will try to do new ones fairly regularly. It's basically one big tournament that has a different competitor lineup every time.
FORMAT: 4 entries. First come first serve. PM me or contact me on Discord if you want to join. 1v1, Bo3, double elimination. 3 min. The Trov action cam will be used. Major havoks will have the match restarted as necessary. North American entrants STRONGLY PREFERRED. Overseas latency IS a problem. If you are not NA but do a lag test with me and it's acceptable then you will be accepted.
-----
THIS WEEK'S RULES: No building! BUT WHY, you ask? well- Pick a HW from the stock AI (except EMERGENCY). This is the bot you will drive for this week I reserve the right to deny any entry for any reason. The stock Octagon arena will be used for its balance among different bot types.
-----
SIGNUPS (close once I accept 4 competitors): APPROVED 1. 2. 3. 4. BACKUPS/CURRENTLY UNAPPROVED ...
I will not be entering this time unless we can't get a 4th entrant.
----- For me to accept your entry, you need to send me a PM/discord message with ALL of the following files/information: TWO IDENTICAL copies (or more) of your bot (each with differing keyboard controls, or alternatively, keyboard and gamepad). The inputs can be whatever you want as long as you pick only ONE color from this diagram for each copy:
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] This is so two people can potentially play on the same keyboard layout. You will likely be required to drive with both at some point. Timezone (Pacific, EST, etc) Times and days available to fight (be generous please). Saturday and Sunday if at all possible. I will try to work with what you got. But remember that you have the potential to fight any entrant, so the more time you have available, the better. Fights under ideal circumstances don't last more than 10 or 15 minutes, but plan for perhaps up to 45. Parsec user ID Link to register
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] I will not accept your entry until ALL of the above has been submitted and the bot is approved. If you are confused, ASK ME!
These will be pretty casual tournaments. Since there's only four entrants scheduling should be pretty easy and done on the fly. Preferably be available evenings and weekends. Just don't enter if you can only play at tues at 4:15-4:30am or some crap like that. Use common sense.
Feel free to ask questions. Here we go.
The rules are finalized. Welcome the signups.

Enough with the off-topic or I will mute you guys so hard people will mistake you for mimes.
Anyway, with a wedgeless design you should really go for a stronger drive. Ditch the pink and make the chassis tighter and you should be able to use redbirds.

If the plow thing's what you're actually trying to achieve, then you probably just want to tweak your new wedge setup. Rotate the extenders holding the snapper so the snappers are pointing towards the back, then build your plow setup from the ends of those extenders. Should be just enough for a top plow or bracket wedge.

IMO the last 2 bots show why sometimes the tightest chassis isn't the best setup you could use. More extenders just mean more points of failure.
For example, you could make the drum chassis wider so the snappers can be attached to the anchors (or even better, the baseplate). It should weigh roughly the same and it gives your bot more HP.
I understand the novelty of the VS, but it should be lighter with 2 side-by-side anchors (one drive motor + stabilizer per anchor). That said, I'm not sure where else you could use the free weight on other than beefier stabilizers.

It's one of those showcases where you can see the improvement in skill across multiple posts and it's kinda satisfying.

We don't need good builders. We need people who enjoy the game. Let him build whatever he wants.

The MW hammers feel kinda same-y, IMO. Would like to see one of them look like the old Iceberg (caster rack).
I like your take on the pokers, and BOT-CHOY looks absolutely amazing.

He never intended his bot to be competitive. Wanted to make something replica-esque of tombstone from battlebots.
That said, it looks great for what it's supposed to be. You could use 2 20cms instead of a T connector on each side of the weapon housing so the 120 cms are more flush against the chassis.

How many swings can it dish out? Mine can only muster around 4-5 before the arm fails to retract due to using 140 cms.

This is probably as best as I could get it to look with the pixel chassis setup. Angled the motor setup by a notch so the weapon is centered, but more importantly that spared some extender weight for some poly panels and stuff. Turns out the mini beater bar has a better AP placement than the multiextender, although that came at the cost of downgraded weapons.

hmmm i am an idiot because i forgot about ap hermaphrodity Kinda looks bad, though. Still couldn't find a component that allows for a clean pontoon setup so I had to add some teeth to cover the hideous multiextenders. Aside from that, I'll see if it's worth it to downgrade the drive for poly sheets to sandwich the internals.

Tried to make a cool ant for cringey's tournament, but I forgot that the DSC packs don't have the pontoons as a single component yet. That ruined my plan for making a VS with pontoons, but I'm a stubborn man and stuck some on the bot anyway. multiextenders are heavy and i have no idea what's the thinnest component that has a perpendicular ap at the tip help
