Just a little feedback on the hammer itself (the design and such, not taking into account aforementioned synergy issues) - I imagine it will make the bot quite unstable having that weight suspended up there, and also that Polycarb extender is very very exposed, I'd upgrade it (if you do keep those weapon systems and also get rid of a piston or 2 and arrange as suggested, it'd be very easy to still keep it as a CW).

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Mazakari's Showcase (A bit of everything)« on: November 05, 2013, 09:55:24 AM »
Well if it is, I'm pretty sure either the bottom supports would snap with the weight from above or the motor supports would bend and warp with all the spinning mass. And the motor is far too exposed. This is why I hoped it was an arty standard :P

Pretty cool. Assuming it's a fancy-lookin' standard bot. Only concern I would have is wide bots wouldn't fit between those supports and get nommed by the blade.

All I would say with Exterminator is, is it worth taking the little bobbles on the self righting hubs off? Then you could make them as a separate component or whatever and actually make them function. But that's not to say anything bad, they all look incredible.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Memoirs of the IRL(?) Builder; Paranoia's Showcase« on: November 04, 2013, 12:47:22 PM »Those sheet extenders are far too thin to be there in an IRL purpose, in my opinion. What about DSL bars, or flippermakers? Both are thicker and therefore more realistic than sheets - it's just all a matter of how efficient you want to try and make an IRL bot. 3651

I think it's that most people that compete have similar music tastes, and it makes listening to everything if you're not into it quite painful.

So many songs I don't really fancy listening to, and only 1 I particularly like - which is of course the OMG GHEY one. So glad I didn't enter and have to go through them all.

I play games, play guitar, do physics, and wait for those weekends I can see Slinky :)Why is Slinky called Slinky? I know it's nothing to do with her name. Yeah Merrick's pretty much got it here. Just called her 'slinky' as a description at some point and it stuck as a nickname. 3655

I still love Guitar Hero. Actually gave me the confidence to pick up a real guitar, those years back. World Tour is still awesome. Assassin <3

That's just a regular tournament with a different signup system. We need to clarify the line between regular and display, not blur it further.

Because I bet they were cheaper to acquire. Back when they had Saw films, it was the most random assortment.

I think a rule saying you can use any freely available bot with the owner's permission is fine - you shouldn't accept entries as such, but seek them.
