Interesting findings.
However it doesn't really prove much as in a larger bot that would require more batteries the surface area calculations are a lot more complicated. You'll need to look at which battery option allows for a lower surface area combined with other components in a chassis. 363
Stock Showcases / Re: mryoo37's stock showcase« on: April 06, 2016, 09:04:54 AM »Yeah, it would be better with the weapon reversed. That way you lift up the opponent and get to their chassis first instead of whatever weapons are in front of their robot. 364

So mryoo37 posted a link in his intro to a Korean RA2 tournament.
I couldn't watch the link directly but I managed to download about 50% of the video through a browser plugin I have. Check out these beautiful robots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 365

No-one buys them, so no-one supports them, so no-one buys them... Also, everyone add me: http://steamcommunity.com/id/EssemmGaming/ 366

BFE that's possible in the bot lab is kind of accepted as you can't really tell it's been done.
In this case it clearly wasn't possible. 367

Sweet stuff. Which way does Nightmare's drum spin? It looks like Drumblebee with the weapons reversed.

Traditional 6's denotes Medic, Demo, Pocket Soldier, Roamer Soldier and 2 Scouts. Then other classes are more situational.

Right, so my bot spikeballs when AI'd. I'm going to try and write an AI line to fix that but otherwise look for another bot.

I never check the bot file myself. I know I should check for super strong armour but that should be obvious when the robot fights. I normally just look at the bot in game. I'm trusting enough that no-one who knows about super strong armour etc... would try and cheat like that

Discussion / Re: Robot Arena 3!« on: April 04, 2016, 05:39:45 PM »As far as I understood it, we were saying that 1x10kg weapon should do more damage than 10x10kg weapons. This makes no sense from a concussive viewpoint. 100kg should do a lot more damage than 10kg. But the dream is to have it calculated by contact patch and forces and all that, meaning that a 1x10kg weapon would do more damage then the bigger contact surfaces of 10x1kg weapons. This is what I'm hoping for. 377

Please tell me we're talking 1x10kg weapon should do more damage than 10x1kg weapons, not more damage than 10x10kg weapons?

Site News and Feedback / Re: rep« on: April 04, 2016, 02:13:39 PM »
My favourite system that I have encountered combines by-post ratings with overall stats.
Each post can be voted as "Informative", "I agree", "Funny", "Disagree" and "Off-Topic/Pointless". Then on your profile your totals are displayed. The main problem I see with our system is we don't have a consensus as to what a +/- rep should be for. SOme people give rep for useful advice or cool stuff they've done. Others give it for funny posts etc... Having multiple options allows different forms of "good points" to be distinguished. 379

That hammer is so sexy. I know I'm entered into "weirdest chassis on a competitive not" but has there been anyone else?
