Note that a lot of custom arenas don't have any good camera angles, so your best bet is downloading the action camera and use that (by pressing F3 and F4 at the same time)

I can host that too suede. Again, smash theme optional.

Edit:
Anyone up for an IF match? Any weight (excluding SHW and UHW) and any OOTA-able arena.
Can do. Heavyweight, best of 3, DSL tournament arena?
Sounds good. Anyone up to host?

EDIT: it was middle weight, so let's keep it at that. Oh, and we should keep the same bans, these being SnS and HS. (that means don't submit an undercutter -_-) Also, smash bros theme is encouraged! It gives it an epic feel...

Actually it was HW

Edit: Actually it was MW but I entered a HW, or it WAS SUPOOSED TO be HW but you changed it idfk
can we make it to HWs though because I dread MWs (I say that but if Not Bushido wasn't god damn overweight for a MW then I would being saying otherwise)

Okay. Heavyweight it is!

I'm thinking, if we're keeping it similar, we should probably go with the battlebox arena, again. Is this settled, then? Should I make the thread? (Talking to Badger as well as dead.)
If you have the rules all agreed then you should get that thread going =P

Chatterbox / Crap performance in CSGO for no reason?
« on: February 27, 2016, 06:01:18 PM »
I have an i5 4690k, GTX 970, 16gb RAM and I'm only getting between 90 and 150 FPS in CSGO, when with those specs I should NEVER dip below 300. Both my CPU cores and GPU top out at around 60 degrees under load, and I have not overclocked anything. Changing in-game settings does not help

I'm pretty sure my CPU is the bottleneck, as it's 100% or near 100% load on all cores while ingame. I honestly have no idea how to fix this. The issue persists through windows reinstalls and several driver versions. What more can I do?

I'm using omni.py and I want my bot to fire its weapon once inverted, in order to self-right. How would I do this?

Bot for my challenge vs reier. Got totally rekt. How can I improve it?
its nicely built. I feel like your main problem though is you're relying a lot on the updraft of the weapon but the design doesn't support this very well. if you fight another robot focusing on lifting power you will likely be destroyed because you 1. dont have a wedge to leverage your updraft against and 2. your robot flips back easy and has an exposed chassis.

I don't really like wedges but in RA2 if you want your VS to have a lot of kick you kind of need one. I also was never a fan of the twin spaghetti fork type weapon setup you got there, I think you would get more success with a disk type approach and it would make your bot more stable since it wouldnt catch as easy on the floor or opponent.

this design might work better as a drum actually, just play around with it a bit

Thanks for the advice! Would you mind sending me the .bot file for your challenge bot so I can have something to test against?

in 2.2 all of the batteries give close to infinite amps, so heavier batteries are more efficient in that they give more electotal for their weight

you could probaly cut down the amount of batteries in the vs to about 1 or 2 wp836e
I thought he said that he was playing 2.1, my mistake.

I think that piglet could do with some support and protection, for an IRL bot.

First off, you should only ever use ant batteries (maybe battlepacks when using a lot of burst motors). 1 per spin motor.

I think more extender work holding the actual motor and not the disc would be nice, on both sides, and maybe some in between the link the disc and motor supports.

If those are NPCFs then that bot's going to be crazy fast.
I personally like stronger flipper skirts on my bots.
Standards, should probably switch to fast L/R and use hypnos

I would rebuild with a smaller chassis (with no slope) and other minor improvements but SM gave the guy a better bot than I could to work off of so to be honest I can't really be arsed haha

SM's bot would be a good guide for you. Note:

How the chassis is as small as possible for the components, as larger chassis weight more, which is undesirable

The wedges are held on my metal hinges. I think you can use skirt hinges instead if you want, if you only use the centre attachment point.

The hypno wheels are the best wheels for NPC right/left motors. We usually use the fast variants of NPCs, as they are significantly better motors for only 5kg more weight.

Not sure if you know about DSA, but it's the default armour your bot gets when you don't open the armour tab. In DSL it is very weak and heavy, so we always change it to a different armour type. We usually build our bot first, then select the strongest armour that makes the bot fit within the weight limit.

The bot is barely under the weight limit. If your bot is 20kg below the weight limit, that's 20kg that could be spend on armour, weapons or other cool things.
