Don't know how the combat side of things is going to go considering my draws, but I think I've done alright in the realism aspect, as have several of the others. I think that's good to see- that crap entries like Garvin's are not going to be tolerated this time around.
No offence, Boss. But why are you still bawwing over Garv?

I wouldn't consider it bawwing, personally, it might be that he takes IRL building quite seriously, but Garvin entered by far and away the least IRL robot ever submitted into an IRL tournament. It was basically a substandard DSL bot, and he got the last spot in the tournament, meaning GF93 couldn't enter with what he'd built. When he saw what it was, he was appaled - as we all were - and a few of us went so far as to call for his robot to be removed from the tournament, and replaced with GF93's. Eventually it went ahead as it was, and Garvin lost in Round 1. I think that's kind of what sparked the recent "restrictions" on IRL building. They're not really proper rules, though.

But he should be able to do pretty well here. I reckon his bots look quite good, especially with the way all the stuff matches up on the heavyweight. Touches like that make a good IRL robot into a great one. =)
However, now people just bend the rules to try and win.
*cough*FOTEPX with metal hinge wedges on he SHW HS*cough*
I'd rather lose in the first round and win a best looking bot award :gawe:
Same here. Although, I did try to balance looks and combat ability- hence why Juggernaut has ramming plates on its front, and Pyromancer has those big teeth.

I respect Naryar. I respect him taking time out of his day to keep a small online forum in check, I respect his bluntness when he needs to rein in a flame war or something similar. I respect his contributions to Robot Arena 2, and how far he's managed to advance it. That doesn't necessarily mean I have to like him, though. He's fun in his own sinister way, and also slightly up himself since he got the GMod spot, but I still respect him. That's my standpoint.
This. That, and he's quite hilarious to behold when he's in full ham mode, so to speak

Epic win on the name   :claping
And that's good to hear- I must say, I'm quite a fan of his videos.

Bawwing.

I am not bawwing. I was referencing how completely unrealistic entries have got in in the past, with Garvin in Series 1 as the prime example, and how it was good that more realistic entries are taking priority, to prevent repeats of the incident for the same reasons.

And don't use that term, please- I despise it.

NFX in Round 1 of the HW Bracket? Works for me- if I can flip him over, I should be able to do it. I've got strong enough armour, speed and wedginess for the job, but then there's a matter of Masterath and Massimo. One thing about Massimo- those wedges aren't realistic, and he should feel bad for using them.

And then there's DSC for the SHWs- Considering that I've got good armour and concealed flamethrowers, I might be able to destroy his weapon motor if the armour and teeth hold out.

Watching Children in Need on BBC iPlayer- who needs a telly licence?
You do if you're gonna do that. :gawe:
Nah, I'm only really using it for this- first time I've watched the telly in ages. Hopefully they won't mind- it's not like they can use their TV Detector Vans to find me anyway   ;)
I've no idea. But if you hear a knock on the door in the middle of the night, don't answer it. =D
Don't worry, I'll keep that in mind. The last thing I want is to have to update GTM from the local Cop Shop as a result of it   :laughing

GF, you need to build more often! :approve:
You know, I think I'll try to- I've got something of a knack for IRL building.

Excellent- looking forward to seeing how it all pans out  :approve:

Although, would it be possible to show the robot names in the splash? It always kind of bugged me that they weren't there previously.

FOTEPX mentioned that he wanted to hand his HW spot over to me, but I'd be happy if it were to move ahead as it is, personally. I don't want to drag it on much. =)

That means your SHW moves to HW and there is one SHW spot open.

It's not too much work, I can do that.

(so GF, you can still send)
Thank you, Freezie- I'll send it over now.
