Nice, more fodder for my entry.

Riiiight. Trying to get past the sheets while your teeth take a beating from the razors won't give you much of a chance to get to its wheels.

and then you have the as-yet-untrialled designs such as JoeBlo's Xception, and S_M's wierd underpoker design.
What

I think it was Cologne (or Perfume or whatever).

Hmmm...

The only way I could think of to get around this without making new .pys would be wiring the weapons to the drive (so they spin upwards while charging), but they spin downward when triggered by a SZ. I'm not even sure if that would work.

No wonder Sonny didn't take this approach. Skinning it would be a bitch. XD

If you're having problems with facing your opponent again after throwing it upwards, just give it a stopper and it will work like you want it to. Also, a stopper can also make your drum invertible (but not with hypnos, of course :P). :D

im going for a drum bot and its proving to be a pain.lol mine will be a custome .py. im sick of crap bindings for that stlye.

If you're going for an invertible drum, there's Drum.py for that. :D

Irons = fail flails. There's a reason we say MOAR RAZORS, you know, pwn.

I never said to put irons on flails. :P

One thing you can do to make up for the plastic armor is to point your razors down. Not sure if the razors will touch the ground, though.

Very interesting approach. But I got another take on that. Maybe I'll try it when I have the time. :D

would a Servo piston on a servo be any less prone to spazzage?

Probably, but I don't think it works with Top_Smasher_2R. Not only that, the purpose of this design was to cause quick damage when a weak point shows up. Servos would tame it, both havok-wise and damage-wise.

Would that be doable in RA2? Make a motor and disc component for ring spinners?

I don't think so. AP creation would be a bitch. Instead of being a ring spinner, it would just be a weaponed hula hoop.

And it's a cube too. ;)

Actually, no. It's a bit thinner and taller. :P

Actually, it could be made realistic. The weapon disc is hollow while the inner rim is toothed. The weapon motor's drum is also toothed, so the whole thing works. Not sure if it's totally reliable IRL, though.

If you build IRL Realistically in Stock,  you will die.

Totally untrue. Rammers and wammers are still effective even when they're realistic.

I tried cramming SkinHead's design into one that's less than a third of the original weight, and this is what I came up with:

1mm tite, astro drive, medium tank, 2 ants, 6 razors blah blah

This thing's more volatile than I expected. Mediocre first hit damage, and then it spazzes about because THE PISTON'S TOO POWERFUL. IT ACTUALLY USES TWO-THIRDS OF ITS AIR SUPPLY JUST TO SELF-RIGHT. And since the piston's on a servo, it's an occasional bumble ball as well.

But I still did it. :P
