I'm sure i'll come up with something. Dad says he's not interested though. But I can tell he is. I also now have a score to settle with guy who runs Boner as he drove Typhoon, so thats some incentive. Oh and NFX if you think that was impressive see the airtime Phoenix got on the flipper. Looking back on it Phoenix could have won if my dad had some practice driving it. It had 2 EV Warriors in it. But we only had a tiny patio to play around in. 3124

Real Robotics Discussion / Look what I found!« on: April 02, 2011, 02:18:02 PM »But wait, there's more! My Dad built a middleweight called Malc 1.5 and then rebuilt it and renamed it as Phoenix. After it did rubbish on Robot Wars we went to an event in Working. Please note this was around RW time so there were many big names there. After a match where Spawn Again flipped Pussycat out of the arena I ran in, "borrowed" a bit of the shrapnel produced (It was a no spinner event in a sports hall so they could get away with making it out of MDF), and got moaned at by Micheal Lambert of Dantomkia fame. I then borrowed a permanent marker off of the Tornado guys and got all the guys there to sign it. Me, being 7 at the time, was bloody chuffed to get Ian Ingliss' autograph, and to hear Ian Lewis say that it was the board was a "smart idea" was pretty good aswell. He was probably slightly bitter as he was there selling signed bits of the robot wars arena. Oh and we won a match against Steel Sandwich, probably because I was behind the Judges all the time looking over their shoulders. I've been meaning to scan this for a while and I thought you guys might like to see it. 3126

I've already bought a couple of drill motors and some robochallenge wheels and started playing with them. So technically it's started :P. Part of me had this crazy idea to butcher some hanging basket brackets from wilkos to make sides for this bot. It's coming together, just very, very slowly.

Ooh, nice. If I didn't procrastinate so much I might have started building a robot for this many months ago, but i'll be content watching.

When you say "On the gadget show" do you mean:
A) it'll have a significant portion dedicated to it. B) It will be a 5 second fly by in the inevitable 2 minute "The Gadget Show Live was great" section? I'm guessing the latter. 3129

I wouldn't say Storm II was unlucky per se. I think it was actually somewhat lucky to get to the grand final with mentorn on it's back.

Personally I'd flip it around and make the bass pedal the into a hammer. Says the guy who made a grand piano.
Still very nice though. 3135

Uncfl'd the components cfz file and successfully managed to skin the extenders. I can't find the .txt file in the main components directory so I can change it to add the new styles.

Good question. I wasn't planning on having any restrictions on what you can/can't change. As long as the robot stays within the rules.
Also was I the only one who couldn't get on here for hours. 3139
