I downgraded my rocket sled vindicare down to a tier 1 10-component sled with like 5 rockets for mobility and gave it a tier 2 or 3 railgun, and that works as intended. However, as soon as someone with enough SMG's find me, I'm toast. Sniping from afar and castrating other bots is the best way to use what I'm using.
rocket sleds BLOOP yeah
Come on Nary, being Mod doesn't let you swear in main forum (Yes I've edited it out). Again and I may have to warn. Stupid as it sounds.
We are in off-topic, Craaig. Now off-topic is main forum ? That's madness.
off-topic is part of main forum.
You are not in playground.
Absolutely. I've replied to your rant in corporate office Nary so I won't repeat here.

Guys QUIT with the big text. It's unneeded. The spam that clutters this thread on a daily basis is insane.
EDIT: Tommy made an off-topic post after this about stopping stupid letter sizes, this was my reply. He deleted his post hence editing it in here: Yes, please do. Let's get this thread back on track. As far as I'm aware it's for replicas and comments on the replicas themselves. Other comments and requests can be made in other threads, over PM or over some form of IM.

King B looks meh - do the spikes lift?
But yeah, that is right for Hypno assuming the earlier versions.

Well perhaps at least the definitions of the other 2 need to be more clear - for example El Chickenado thought DSL-S was Unrealistic. Things were easier when DSL-S was 'DSL Realistic Rule' :')

Yeah, that'll just be because it's on a spin motor. Such are the joys of trying to make hammers on spin motors.

No, it shouldn't be limited at all, but it's kinda hard to do that and run tournaments. That's the only reason anything is classified in my opinion. People should build what they want and if they want to enter a tournament, they build to that style I guess - but people naturally want to build for tournaments so people usually always build to those styles. If you were to run a tournament with no limiting features, you'd actually be limiting people who want to be competitive further, as naturally stock-style unrealism would be the only contender.

Looks kinda mediocre from that angle.

The easiest way is to export it in RA2 from the Team HQ area, then upload the file you'll find in the Robot Designs directory to the GTM Bot Exchange (top of the page). When you upload it, you can find it on there, copy the link, and personal message it to 090901.

I'm going to bump this thread up, just to some of the new guys can read what I personally think are the definitions, and maybe to spark a bit of discussion into making more general definitions agreed by everyone.

Yes. Go look at stock showcases to see what unrealistic looks like, and think about how you could do that in DSL.

Because that's unrealistic! Suddenly DSL-S doesn't seem so unrealistic does it? There's a reason before IRL came around DSL-S was classed under DSL Realistic Rules - Stock builds are unrealistic, but it's generally frowned upon doing that in DSL under most circumstances. This tournament is one of those other rare occasions.

That would fit as DSL-S as far as I can see. Unrealistic means stuff can cut through other stuff - your dual perm doesn't need to be that far out for example as the bar and weapons are allowed to cut through the chassis and stuff in it.

it woudnt but it would use some weight and have effect i dont see why it wouldnt help the bot
AI bots won't turn to use back weapons. Plus he's making a cruiserweight not a heavyweight, so he has only 45kg which isn't a whole lot for a drum, even if it is a useless one.

How is it unrealistic? That's DSL-Standard realism.

I personally don't like how the entire back bit of the skirt on BFS doesn't fit inside the chassis. Just doesn't look clean.

Please guys, quit spamming with irrelevant stuff. Also, you don't need to quote a post everytime. These massive quote pyramids you guys have been making is just making everyone else scroll more :P

The teeth design is not IRL at all, they'd bend and/or snap.

Well apparently what I'd build is a 2WD Beetleweight lifter, with enough armour to shake off blows from anything, seem as though that's my Summer project...
