haha I told you to much now my idea has been stolen :P

I was making a low lag RA2 game.. I was going to simply the collision meshes too

but lets face it, I will never get around to it so you have my support to experiment with it..

I do know RA2 will warp the colours of the map on an 8x8 size skin :P

I know, it makes 'em all blocky and bleh. That's why I'm not trying to simplify it too much; make it more basic, but keep it lookin' decent.

As we are all aware, some of the skins on some of the components do look, how you say, crap. What I'm planning to do is make a higher resolution alternative to ALL the components and ALL the menus. I plan to do this by doubling the size of every .BMP and then sharpening and editing it until they look crystal clear.

Then we go to the opposite side of the spectrum; low resolution. Now I know what you're all thinking: YOU'VE LOST YOU'RE BLOODY MIND! I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT BLOCKY CRAP! IT'S UGLY! UUUUUGLYYYY!!! On the contrary, my brain-dead compadré, think about this from a logical standpoint. In the Low Lag Arena, the main image has a low file size in order to limit lag. So, what Joey brought up, and what I've thought about, is to also offer a low resolution version of all components. The menus wouldn't needed to be changed, as it's the bot's themselves which use the main processing power.

So, tell me what you think below and add any suggestions below as well. Do keep in mind, it's only an idea, and it'll be quite a while before I'm able to start on the idea.

Wait, wait, wait. Does that even have a BRAIN? Or is:

it stacked in the Nifty?

the chassis wider than I thought?

I don't think you could fit more weapons on if he's going to stay a Lightweight, but if you can, do what Avalanche said and use the side attatchment points.

Probably this.

Ah. Since I don't Snapper or Axle Load, I don't really have an issue with it anyway then?

It depends how the game 'feels'. It's all down to how much processor and CPU you're giving the game and all sorts of technical shish-kebabs. It can target anything it 'feels' like. But, you can use it your advantage, in the form of glitching the axle off. I forgot the scientific name, but I'm sure somebody's gonna leap in and say something about it's real name (Is it snapper loading? Effemme?) and perhaps offer a tutorial.

EDIT: It's Axle Loading.

...what is AGOD again? o.o

Axle Glitch Of Death. It's where the polygons of the component don't match where the components are meant to be. It mostly affects wedges, but can also effect anything Snapper or Axle Loaded. Rarely it can be helpful, but most of the time it makes your bot easy to get under, or, in extreme circumstances, render your entire bot worthless, a-like so:
Also, it can be quite annoying to get rid of, as in some cases, you have to click the polygons instead of the actual component, and if you don't know how to see the polygons, you gotta scrap an entire bot.

Something I often do to avoid AGOD is to just simple not go into the test arena place. By doing this, you don't give the AGOD a chance to settle in until AFTER your 1st match, at this point, AGOD is near-impossible to contract. This method has only failed me once.

If you already knew about it, I'm sorry, I just didn't see many people talking about it. If it doesn't work on your PC, eh, my PC is a screwed up piece of bleguh anyway. Plus, there's always other ways you can avoid AGOD, so try them.

Random fact: I like slight AGOD on my weapons, just so I can see the razors digging into the opponent ;)

Ehh, flails are so 2009. Now-un-days, it's all about dual-layer weaponry.

What are the motors in the last one? Also, Mag Snapper or Judge Burst?

I'm asking all this because I'd like you to send me it (:gawe:) and then I can see how it stacks up with Challenger.

A new, unexpected favourite of mine: Honda S2000. Great drifter, and the Mugen version has great control and speed.
