Yeah, add that, also fix the errors that it generates when viewing the available bots.

Screw Ironforge, worst physics ever(I'd really like to get into the mod, yet every bot starts flying around and climbing walls), Stock's better for meme tournaments anyways.
I was kinda hoping that this would return with the same rules as before, but oh well, will probably still enter.
Hopefully you won't change my AI line to something that ruins the bot.
Sorry for being stupid, but what does this reference?
Clone Clash.  Badger changed up my AI line for my VS from Omni to VertSpinner.  That's all you have to know really.

get in the gtm discord family and you can keep up
Thought you wouldn't enter Discord because it's playground?

DSL TC Showcases / Re: DemonOfTomorrow's Deadly(ish) DSL Showcase

After looking at RedAce's DSL Reborn pack, I thought to myself: "I could steal his bots create my own set of 45 'bots with influences from Stock, DSL and other stock AI packs!" Anyways, I decided to recreate Grog, and after thinking if I wanted either the axe or FBS, I thought: "Wynaut both?"
And thus, Grog, The Revengeance was born...
(Image removed from quote.)
Sweet, I was also thinking about doing a IF pack but after seeing how the physics in IF are I decided to scrap that, might do it in DSL instead. Personally I'll make Grog a thwacker(so the team can have a brute force low tech weapon theme) but this one combines both nicely and helps with the driving since you know where front is.

Livestreamer doesnt rape my CPU

> Watchdogs
> FC4
yea my point about no good games stands.

I know gog does modern games too, but to me there's literally no reason to buy something on GOG when it's also on steam. There's no point complaining about "ownership" of games on steam, it's totally irrelivant to the consumer experience

idk dude I rushed this out so fast, I need to take more time on my next tournament
Tournament stuff:

Irrelevant? So the fact that I own nothing(while I get to own the game on physical copy) doesn't matter, they can simply shut down my account if I don't agree with their new terms and I won't have any of the bought games.
Steam is a ecosystem that controls the titles you owned and requires you stay in their system to even access your games. Why would I need to be connected to the internet to play a single player game? What if I don't have internet because the ISP messed something up again? Here they're somewhat fast(still means a weekend or three days of wait) but I know of a friend who had to wait 5 months until the ISP had moved over their stuff and updated everything they needed to.

I've been ok with Steam in the past, but the more I learnt about it and the more they changed it, the more I disliked it.
Ever since their new design change their client has been unstable, kept separate logins for your library and community(and hey, that worked so well in Xmas 2015 when you were able to randomly access other accounts), got stuck on videos in the community tab(which needed a restart), refused to connect to the net(required a restart as admin) as well as other issues, and what do you get if you notify them? "It's your PC's fault"
Yeah:

Didn't know that you required a NASA pc to run steam properly.
Then they changed that gifted keys no longer give you a "premium" account, because yeah we needed to lock out users because account scammers(are people really that retarded to believe that a "steam admin" who just looks like a normal user would request them to give the password if the chat even says NEVER SHARE YOUR PASSWORD), as if those account scammers couldn't spend 5$ and then get an account for that stuff, it just scews out users that got games via other ways(what if you can't do online payment for whatever reason but still have the money to get the game) and this now leads to this lovely situation:

Two guys who recently got into PC gaming go into a store and buy a physical copy of a game because their parents don't want them to do any kind of online payment.
The disc only has the steam installer and activation code.
Because of the above mentioned things, both don't have premium accounts and can't add eachother. Brilliant.  :claping

DRM treats the customer as pirate and you get a better experience pirating the game, heck it even helps piracy because that only works if they're well known. DRM keeps the little pirates away but doesn't do anything against the big, who even get to be known better that way.

Don't get why so many people prefer steam, but whatever.

This one was too fast while People's Choice(taking the PC problems into account) was a bit slow, I felt like we could've gotten a video daily there.
Get the time somewhere in between those two and fix the little messups like the VS.py stuff and your tournaments are perfect.

Modifications / Re: Replacing models in DSL?

IIRC the guys behind the Robot Wars modpack got shaders and anti-aliasing to work with RA2. I don't entirely remember the extent of that and how they did it, but it's possible at the very least.
Would be interested in getting Anti Aliasing to work, will mess around with RW pack.

Twitch? Eww, switch to Hitbox instead, 7zip(why would you have that open while playing games?) Steam (no uplay and no drm free ones?)
Hitbox has literally no good streams. Literally 0. Not one.

7zip was open because I was checking that I hadn't screwed
AI line, as the creator gave me his AI line. Since it was working so poorly in the group stages I switched it to omni for the brackets.
Uplay is a POS and has no good games. cba with GOG, has less games than steam with fewer sales and I can get everything not ancient on GOG on steam instead. Not sure if desura has DRM but its desura.

On your other points:
Didn't know that you were watching streams, thought it was for hosting(which I still find hitbox thousands of times better, also mostly use it to stream for friends instead of everyone, maybe that's the reason why you don't see good stuff that common), also wouldn't the browser be enough for that?

I see, good that you did that and double checked.

Uplay is required for stuff that uses their drm, have a lot of fun getting Watchdogs and Farcry 4 on steam where uplay will launch steam, steam launch back to uplay, for uplay to start the game via steam, not kidding, it's a total mess. GOG isn't only about old games(their name used to stand for that but now it's just GOG) and I personally prefer to have my games not locked to a service which requires me to sign to a contract that can retroactively be changed by them. When you get games on steam you own nothing, you only get a license for it, and I'd personally like to own the game just like a physical copy, but hey that's just me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also fun fact, my bot was originally going to have axle mounted wheel motors but I couldn't get the axles in the way I wanted them, so it's back to static.

Not a fan of this meme #Popups4life
Looks good otherwise, how many tries did that chassis take?

sick. hate the component skins tho. probably missing the joke
Check Badger and 090901's signatures. For some reason GTM is a state that's allied against popups now. I don't mind it but would like it more if a different symbol/flag was used, but that would probably break the joke.

You never stop to surprise me with your bot names.and how close that stuff is to the rules
How well is the triple wedge? I guess it's a bit behind like that on purpose?

As for the other bot, I've tried something like that before, after 3 or 4 motors you will run into issues.

plus popups are made to go for KO's while weaponed flippers go for the OOTA while maybe trying to earn some points, i don't recall ever seeing a weaponed flipper that could get KO's
Technically a popup with razors replaced for spike strips can already count as weaponized flipper
no it isn't it's still a popup dude. you can make a weaponed flipper with razors if you wanted to, it just wouldn't be any good because razors only have 500 hp compared to every other weapon in stock
True, a flipper focuses more on flipping opponents out of the arena with low damage output while the popup focuses more on damage. But how would you do a front hinged flipper and in what category would you put Fracture's bot from your recently hosted tournament?
Already mentioned that before :P
Personally I'll judge them based on damage they do and how well they can flip.
Anyways, back on topic. Looking forward to seeing all the unique designs.

fracture's bot is a popup, just a very powerful one that gave it amazing OOTA capability. nobody even makes front hinge flippers in stock anyways.
Well, what if someone ever does? Also what about True Popups?

I find it hard to believe, after all they decided to launch this game at that state and knew well how it was.
Any non profit orientated developer(do those even exist?) would've seen how launching it in this state would be bad.
Even if they launched in in Early Access, knowing it's far from finished, they could've been honest instead of saying "everything but the online multiplayer works" and I honestly feel that they're just agreeing with the community at this point to still keep them interested/get people to buy the game/not refund it.

I'm surprised that my bot got in 5th, given how I sent it in as soon as possible.
Looking at the recent stock showcases, I think that my bot will really have a bad time with those.

Mixed thoughts about the weaponed flipper, for one "come on, we have a tournament and the next similar thing to a popup gets entered", on the other hand weaponed flippers are rather rare and the only real way to make flippers win stuff outside of OOTA's, so it should be all good to enter.
As usual, the stacking amazes me.

Me too mate, the response has been incredible! You really were number 5 to send in a bot :laughing (including me).

I had mixed thoughts about the weaponised flipper as well, but to me it is a unique design (when do we see flippers?) and gives the bot a way to win without relying on an OOTA. It's certainly taken more skill to build than a pop-up as well so I think it's fair game.
The design has been around for a while and you still sometimes see flippers. Technically a popup with razors replaced for spike strips can already count as weaponized flipper, but it's nice seeing something that looks more like Mystic2000's Tricycle Takedown entry. I'd say as long as not everyone starts entering weaponized flippers, it's totally alright.

I think prizes is a way to gain outsiders/people who don't know about the forum. Y'know, people love prizes... especially when all they'd have to do is build something on a free game and/or free mod of a free game
Yes, but said prizes would be for that free game(it isn't something like "you win money/games" and I sure not hope that it will turn into that)

258
Big Tournament could be a lot of fun, but some parts are bothering me.
Before I go on however, I'd like to say thanks to yugitom for reading my post in the GTM is reclining thread and taking my points into account.

As for the prizes, I really don't want to repeat myself from the GTM is reclining thread or be that guy that's like "no, because I say so", but I really wouldn't want to have them.
Stacked Supervolts, Nifties with a CB space are all things which should've been part of a tournament mod, Double Strenght Extenders would give a advantage to the other people, and even if the stuff is just visual, I wouldn't be a fan of it, neither do I like the forum user title.

This all just encourages winning more, and roboteering isn't about winning, it's about having fun, you'll just have the same designs over and over again with people that want to win doing most efficient bots.
People won't go out for creativity if they want to win so badly, they will take what already works and as such you will see SnS, HS and Popups again with everyone complaining about Popups again(while the problem itself is more wedgebots, because of how the AI works, all that matters is a good wedge to get under your opponent and then you've basically won already, Drums, jugglers and most piston wedges are the same thing in the end, they're all gutrippers who hit the underside of your bot), that's also why I find ranked RA2 bad.

Mr As' mod is new, but that doesn't mean that old already working desings won't work here, and why would someone that wants to win mess around with a new bot design when you know that certain designs will always work? It's just a temporary solution instead of encouraging creativity and fair bot designs.

We aren't little kids anymore that need to be lured with winning prizes, you already win the tournament and I think having that mentioned in the wiki(similar to how all BBEANS entries and rounds are written) should be more than enough.

The AI Pack falls into a similar situation like the stacked batteries, I've been thinking on how it would be if the tournament bots got released to everyone, it would allow you to see what went wrong, how a bot is built and how stuff works, you could even redo matches to see how close your victory/loss was.

Personally, I find yearly too long, but doing it in a short time can easily lead to it being too much of a haste to host.

What are host points used for anyways? I've heard about them before, but haven't read about their use before, I do know that the more tournaments you host, bigger entry sizes are allowed, as well as no longer requiring a poll with enough yes votes.

I'm aware that I'm (possibly the only) one with a unpopular opinion of this and see stuff a different way than most do. I don't want to negatively affect this, and if I end up not liking it, I'll simply not join it so you guys can still have all the fun.

When you say 'no entry limitations', does that mean send any number of bots, or anyone can join?

And yeah, definitely have two leagues. Unrealistic and realistic
Anyone can join, later on it gets mentioned how you would be only allowed to send one bot of each weightclass.

Stock Showcases / Re: RedAce's Stock Market
« on: August 18, 2016, 07:11:42 PM »
Was going to comment on it before, inb4 it's called Red Scorpion(because that's the name one of my currently unfinished bots is going to get). Looks great, how good are the Snapper 2 hammers and do they retract well? I like it and the brackets add some nice hammer protection as well. Think some space could be saved by stacking two small Co2 tanks(not really sure how that is with the weight), then again it's better to have drive wide like that and it's going to be like that anyways, thanks to the supervolt.

Looking at it now, Dark/Shadow/black Scorpion seems to fit more.
