Ahh.. well.. the only thing to do is to pass the game..
You mean you want me to send the .gba file? Or just that we just quit?

There isnt anythig..
Ca you send me the full save?
Sure, but I don't think there's anything of interest in the .sav file... what would be interesting would be the .gba file I think... my .sav file is after all not complete.

There must be someting.. further digging, i guess

I would hope there was some kind of binary value, something you had to change from 1 to 0 or vice versa, to get them to show up in the robot selection screen... But to me that sounds too good to be true.

Hmm... I believe in that there's got to be some way to make the house robots playable. I tried with switching order of the names, to no avail...

Strange. I checked now though to make sure it's shared, have a look below.

*BUMP*

I'm onto making the house robots playable in this game as well (the GameBoy Advance version). Does anybody have a clue on how to somehow edit .gba files? I opened the Robot Wars Extreme Destruction .gba file in HxD, and found the robots names, nothing more though...
No other files? Ima try something tommorow
What line did you fin the names?
Right here.

Robot Wars did reply, although they said the plans for the house robots were highly classified...

Bloody hell, that took a while. It doesn't surprise me though.
Right now it seems I got two alternatives. Either wait for the new house robots to come out as toys, or simply stick with the legacy wars...

how could you make them indestructible? because im tired of the slightest touch breaking firestorms armor
I know what you mean. You need to extract the game archive, and go into the global.dat file (which is fully readable) and find "DisablePlayerDamage" and set that value from 0 to 1.

There is basically nothing for Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction and Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction because they pale in comparison to the modability and physics of Robot Arena 2. I think I remember SkullKid2000 doing a mod where you could play as the house robots in RW:AOD but that's about it.
You can make robots indestructible, mod the games to pieces etc. except making completely customized new robot's of course.

The extreme development hell and the apparent lack of interest from anyone else rather remind me of a lot of my own projects.
I'll have to agree on that one. I've pretty much given up hope on getting plans for the new house robots... so I think I'm sticking playing the older games and focusing on the older series instead, as those are my favorite wars (1-4).

I actually emailed Mentorn about this, and hopefully I'll receive a reply soon...

Thats actually great, I remember Hypno pretty useless in that game.
Well, not anymore. It's quite devastating, if you know how to modify the damage in the game.

Brilliant work. Is there a way to make the House Robots less aggressive - make the CPZs appear smaller to the game so they don't rush out as much, or slow them down so they can't end up in the centre on the arena so quickly?
Surely fully possible. All I would need to do is figure out how to "shrink" the corner patrol zones... may not be that difficult... but I'll look into it when I get the time :)

Had some more fun, customizing the game Robot Wars Extreme Destruction, making it a little more... let's just call it "realistic". That's at least what I would call it.

And here... Dead Metal's pincers are closing and opening quicker, allowing him to grasp his opponents MUCH faster

Example battle in Robot Wars Extreme Destruction:
Battle

EDIT: You CAN disable the steam jets! Or, so it seems... have a look here:
Robot Wars arena file

Cool - so if you run over the jets with those settings, does your robot still go flying?
