Carp! I gotta build something... but I just picked up Guild Wars 2.  q.q

I'll get something together even if it means I have to call in dead for work!

JD, I see you've found US Flapjack Rebel

Yeah. :D  Your old showcase is awesome.  I can see why you designed Stratocaster the way you did... you love putting rows of wheels on each side of a boxy chassis.

Edit: Also, has anyone posted shots of the bots from Bot Bash 2004?  I can't be bothered to read the whole thread.

Oh dear god.  I owned that exact Cressida for 4 years. '82 three tone brown, automatic...

Thing was horrible in the snow... the water pump failed on it gloriously... you could kick the rear bumper and it would rain rust underneath (was quite amusing to watch).  Alas, it ran pretty decent and was quiet.   The thing that pissed me off the most was the lack of headroom.  I'm 6 feet tall... and the sunroof is like 2 feet thick on that car... totally kills all the headroom.  I loathed driving that thing because unless I put the seat back at a 30 degree angle, my head would rub against the ceiling.  I wish I had put some sport seats in it so I could sit closer to the floor.

I want it. Any more of them in the pile?

Heh, there were three.  A Bondi-Blue 1st gen 233Mhz with the old tray CD Rom (decided against this one because pulling the motherboard from the 1st gens is a B*tch) But they also had a Bondi 3rd gen just like the purple one that I snagged with the slot-load CD Rom and a much easier Motherboard to access.  All of them were covered in stickers... Like "Spanish Class"  "Room B" etc etc etc... Took me damn well near 2 hours just to WD40 all the stickers off the machine to make it look new again.  :P

A computer in the free pile?  Damn, do you live near some special high school for billionaires?

It is quite the opposite... The school is poorly funded but the computer teachers are idiots and they don't have an IT person.  So, rather than install a clean version of Ubuntu on these machines and teach kids a little about linux they just cast them away.  It is unfortunately common.

why would you play warcraft 2 except for the spells and dragons/griffons

Actually, my session of reliving Warcraft 2 lasted all of about 15 minutes... The damn machine is too fast scrolls like a boss on LSD.  (400Mzh Woot!)  But, seriously, I turned the scroll speed down to as low as possible and it still is kinda un-playable because it is too fast.

Doesn't matter... the next game on my list was Myth and now I am in love with that game all over again.  :D

Dude has legit list m/
Just watched Donny Darko, it's hit no.6 of my list. Crazy but not in a messy way like inception.

First time I watched that film... my jaw dropped at the end and my brain was pretty well fried for the entire following day.  (and I loved it)

That one really deserves to be on my top ten as well because I adore that flick.  But I have only watched it twice and I base my top ten list off of films that I can't get enough of.

What to do when if you doing a long post:

1. Think about what you will post.
2. Type some of it on Note Pad.
3. Save your text.
4. Come back later then and resume your progress. Repeat this step until your text is done.
5. Copy, then Paste your text on to the Reply box.

Other things to know:

Avoid 'Leet Speak', 'All Caps', 'All Lows', and avoid excessive exclamation points and ones at the end of a sentence.
Stay on topic. For example: post about cats in the Feline Thread, and post about Hotel Mario in the CD I Thread.
Stay on topic: threads edition. For example: Start a thread about Tacos in the Chatter Box, and start a thread of your account being hacked in the Forum Feed Back section.
Avoid posting pejoratively if you are mentally angry at the moment. Take your In Real Life time to coool down.
In a Show Case, post constructive criticism that has nobody has not yet.
Perhaps reword the previous line to: In a Show Case, post constructive criticism. Try to avoid posting critiques that others have already noted.
Use proper grammar, but you are excused if you are Chinese or Japanese:
Ummm... seriously, the previous line is just silly.  Just say this:  Use proper grammar, but you will be given slack if English is not your primary language.
Proper:
'My bot can defeat Emergency in 22 seconds.'.
Improper:
'That of me bot defeat Emergency in than less 30 seconds.'.
Check for mis spelled words. Use this as a reference: http://en.wiktionary.org/
Use punctuation correctly.

The Misfits and GWAR look like the only good things on in terms of music unfortunately.

Yeah, hoping they will make some new announcements that will get me excited.

Alright, box has arrived and been opened.  Now I spill the beans, even though I think SKBT sniffed this out from a mile away...  :P

So, after I paid for the Mouser CD the seller sent me a quick message saying that he was going to throw in a Dr. Inferno soundtrack for giggles.  I replied that I am a huge Battlebots/Robot wars fan & asked that he let me know if he posts anything else for sale on eBay.  His response to that was something along the lines of "Sooooo, what are you looking for?"  I told him that I wasn't really interested in any of the toys but would love some artifacts from the Battlebots glory days.

At this point he lets me know that he is Jason Bardis, creator of Dr. Inferno, Towering Inferno, etc etc.  I just about carpped my pants and couldn't believe I didn't make the connection sooner, because I had seen his Lego Battlebots for sale on eBay back in April and went to his website.  I didn't realize that I had bid and won from the same ebay seller.   :gawe:

So, I told him I wasn't looking for anything in particular... and offered to just shoot him some cash in exchange for a box of stuff from BB and preferably a piece of Dr. Inferno / Towering Inferno that I could cherish and hold close to me at night while I sleep.

He was wicked cool about it and agreed.  He explained that he had some stuff collecting dust and even though Dr Inf and Tower were empty shell on display he would dig up some pieces that were used on those bots back in the day.   So, he dug around boxed everything up and I waited for a week as the package voyaged from California to Vermont.

The Loot:
Mouser CD (rockin' will encode it and make it available to you guys)
Dr Inferno Soundtrack with cool autograph from Jason <3
Dr Inferno Soundtrack (Sealed... will be used as a prize in my upcoming tournament this Fall)
Battlebots Calendar from 01 or 02 I forgot, but it can be reused in 2013 :D
Battlebots the official Magazine issue 1 and issue 2
Huge PTC decal (unused)
an array of unused decals that never made it to bots over the years.
Battlebots competition handout guide for 1999 and 2000 (awesome stats and info about registered bots)
Battlbots the official guide.  Huge book with tons of info and pictures from pre 2001 era
Robot Riots... A kinda cheesy book with info about general robotics and some tidbits of the popular bots of that time.
Unused Towering Inferno Vinyl Decal
Two heavy duty bolts from Dr Inferno Jr. and Towering Inferno.

All in all, pretty cool score.  Lots of cool information / reading material.  I am most excited about the unused Vinyl Decal.  I am gong to think up something to craft involving the bolts and the decal to put behind my bar. It will take a bit of time to construct it.

Also, Jason is an awesome nice dude.  I told him about GTM and he was a little familiar with the forum.  He thinks its cool that we keep the game RA2 alive.  :D

Very nice! Good to see a different pic of the car not in the garage.  :D

That engine is looking very sweet.

Oh and we figured out it's numbers matching....

Well, that is great from a potential value point of view.

But, I don't forsee you selling your baby anytime soon though.   :gawe:
