Double chaining's generally a bad idea.

Finished Portal in less than 20 minutes. Not exactly bulletin-worthy, but that's still 6 times faster than my buddies' times. :P

You can still improve your weapon setup. You could ditch those MEs on the inner razors and just replace the outer razors with Lightning teeth. Or you could replace the ME+razor setup with large beaters or irons.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: A learner's showcase; A TRB bot collection« on: February 19, 2011, 12:28:23 PM »I'm not entering any tourney until I can get past the 1st round. IMO, there's no point in entering if you get trashed immediately. If there's a tourney where all the bots are godlike, there should still be losing bots no matter what. So did those builders who lost their matches waste their time because their bots lost? Of course not! There are losers' brackets for a reason, and most losses came from unlucky matchups anyway. :P *stuff* If you looked closely enough at some of HazCon's matches, the bots didn't remain at its grasp because of the plow. It's because of the height of the weapon setup (and occasionally the plow hindered it from scoring as well). So Nary's HazCon rebuild is actually better than InfCon's rebuild (if you base them on weapon setup alone). Also, that would've meant that true popups should've had trapping mechanisms as well. But that never caught on, probably because they're not worth it. IMO an upgraded drive is better than a trapping mechanism for gut-rippers. But some jugglers won't look as cool without plows. D: 2350

Well that looks uh... wacky.
Use the tribar's other attachment point to the setup's almost flush against the ground. I doubt the drive's low enough to angle the weapons effectively as is. Also, don't waste 10+kg just for a stabilizer. 2 extenders will do. :P 2351

Eh. Just leave it be. It's not like he entered R4 anyway. Minor changes or not, it's still his bot. XD

There will come a time when the opponent will get pinned anyway (which will most likely be the time just after it flew up from the secondary wedge). :P 2353
DSL TC Showcases / Re: A learner's showcase; A TRB bot collection« on: February 19, 2011, 10:58:31 AM »
Not up to tourney standards, my ass. Anyone can join a tourney as long as the entries follow the restrictions. :P
HazCon did well because of its relatively phenomenal wedges (I used 'phenomenal' because its wedges are practically outdated nowadays). InfCon, not so much. Nary did update both, though: Just have enough high-DP weapons and good wedges and you'll be fine. :D 2354

Is it just me or did Jonzu use R4 for his HW? I'm not accusing or anything, but the chassis shape and the mere replacement of blades for plates seems eerie. o_O

Are the wedges necessarily that heavy? You could downgrade those to aluminum and upgrade your flippers to angled sheets.

You haven't used the updated DSL. Those versions don't have the additional APs on Perms.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Martymidgets DSL Showcase« on: February 19, 2011, 07:57:04 AM »
You might want to go with a medium plow and upgrade the wheels (to probably shinies) and just use the rest of the weight in either strengthening your extenders or making the arms longer.

Cute :3
You can probably make it larger so it's proportional to a medium plow (which you can use as your wedge/scoop). :D |
