General Support / Weird Problem(never had this before)« on: July 25, 2006, 04:59:14 AM »
There are quite many topics about these white blank squares.
Uninstall whole game. Reinstall it again. Patch the game, install the DSL-TC 1.0 and then 1.2 and you shouldn't have them any more. Remember to copy and paste those DSL files from different folder and then overwrite all Robot Arena 2's files what it asks to. 223

(I can't buy it. It is sold only around America and maybe somewhere else and I'm from Finland... )

Easily. I doesn't take more than a half of it if even that.

General Support / Determined specific cause of ONE crash in DSL 1.0« on: July 20, 2006, 09:52:34 AM »
There isn't any 1.20 version of the game there is only patch on http://www.robotarena.com 's site. Run that while you have cd in your drive and when the patching is finished check the credits and there somewhere should read 1.20.
Now the game is 1.20 version. 226
General Support / ra2 dsl mod« on: July 20, 2006, 09:49:25 AM »
You need a clean copy of the RA2 and install the patch 1.20 into it and after that you'll be able to install the DSL 1.2 into it. But remember to install the DSL mod to different folder and then drag and drop all the dsl things from it to RA2 folder and then overwrite them.

General Support / Lumazone's floor« on: July 19, 2006, 04:55:42 AM »
Dang... I was stupid. Well this time it didn't fix itself by itself. (Sounds stupid and it is stupid.)

General Support / Lumazone's floor« on: July 18, 2006, 07:43:28 AM »
Yeah suddenly I lost that sand floor from the lumazone where it was last time when I checked it.
I did nothing to the DSL-TC 1.2 folder and or to any files and next time I went to play the arena the floor was that old floor. I even reinstalled the whole DSL-TC 1.2 game and still the floor remains the same. So how the the floor isn't any more the same sand floor as it was before even I did nothing to the DSL-TC 1.2 folder?

Discussion / 2.0 Component Ideas« on: July 17, 2006, 08:58:05 AM »
I understood that completely. It took a bit time but when you look at the shape of the Eiffel tower you'll eventually understand that.
Or imagine 2x Y connectors next to each other. Now take that v part at other Y connector and place it in the end of the another Y connector. Place that v to the same end where are already on v. Now bend all sticks a bit outside and make their bottom smooth. Now you should have Eiffel tower standing on its head with its four legs. 230
DSL TC Showcases / Mr. Weedy's Robots Part II« on: July 08, 2006, 05:57:19 AM »
=D And I just tried to do an eggbeater -like robot but noticed that my robot was not correctly designed for that so I just made something up. And I would use better drive motors but those manage quite well on mw class and on other classes too but we'll see what I'll do for that. Thanks anyway. <)

Yeah. Well I think I more meant to say game stock than pure stock but that word didn't come in my mind at that moment.

DSL TC Showcases / Mr. Weedy's Robots Part II« on: July 05, 2006, 11:47:14 AM »
It has been for too long when I posted a new robot here. But I just haven't got any good design ideas and also I'm now trying to do more mw and lw robots and DSL's lw and mw robots are very tough.
But Ripper[/u] added. Fear it in mw class. 234
General Support / JX Burst Motor - some parts don't attach ...« on: July 04, 2006, 09:50:29 AM »
And one more thing.
When you attach slim motor on its round side and when you pick a T connector, you can place it to slim motor's side where is its second attaching point. Did I make myself clear? 235

Well. For example. http://img96.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tus6fo.gif
Can you do that in original RA2 with out tweaking it little bit? No. That is built up at stock parts but that isn't stock RA2 design. That is loophole what there is used, overlapped parts and support wheels what are upside down. You can't overlap parts without some tweaking. Or at least you can't use those support wheels like that, upside down. Or can you do like this? http://img254.imageshack.us/my.php?image=db40jz.gif No. Well you can. After all but not without knowing a loophole there. You can't overlap parts in RA2 without using loopholes. If overlaping parts like that could be achieved simply placing them so that they would overlap then that would be totally stock but because they can't be place like that originally then that isn't totally stock. That's using loophole, some sort of cheating. Kind of but still isn't. But that isn't the original idea how the game was meant to work. It was never meant to work like that when there are several motors overlaping each other in very small area. And anyway what sense there would be if you could fit all you need in 1 cubic millimeter big box and use it as fully working robot? 237

Robot Wars was THE BEST robot smash up I have ever seen. There were many nice designs like Grasshopper, Hypno Disc, Wheely Big Cheese, Razer, Dominator 2 and so on.
Of course there were some jokes too but still it was just blast to watch them. And there also was this one robot what spilted to two separate individual robots. I don't remember that's name any more. Edit: Oh Yeah it was Gemini. 238

Let me to be beta tester too.
This sounds stupid and so on but I might find weird ways to place different components and parts to each other so that's why I might be good tester because then you might see that kind of things what you haven't ever even thought about. I don't any more remember what weird things I have made and tested but Right now I remember my Mad Coal Miner's concept. That's pretty weird design, isn't it? Oh yeah and of course Chain Macer is quite odd too. Spiked Clubs connected to "chains" and each pack is build on own "servo turret." That's quite weird design too and I think very many people here didn't even think of that kind of design. Oh yeah and one VERY unique design crossed my mind right now. Lol Ball III,2. NONE of you didn't even think of that kind of design. At least I think so because no one didn't mention it here. A rolling ball what can be controlled and rolled around by firing pistons. And its destruction is based on that it rolls around others and others ram to it. 239

Does even your original copy of the game work properly in multiplayer. If not then format your whole hard drive and reinstall all.
No not seriously but if even the original version of them game doesn't work correctly in multiplayer then there's something wrong somewhere else than in your game directory. |
