Internet was out and this was created. I feel middle weights are a good balance. Heavy weights just spam a certain thing. Light weights can barely have weapons. So, I tried my hand at some middle weights. This is my second one and I really like it.

Updated bot/stats:

Standard
Armor: Plastic 3
Weight: 392

My goal with this bot isn't fully DPS. With those cutting teeth there is a mix of flipping/damage. Keeping the enemy off it's wheels and doing damage at the same time. (Awaiting comments about excess batteries xD )

When it comes to spinning motors, you only need one ant battery to run one spin motor for a standard 2 minute match (might even be 3). This'll save you some weight for other things.

Metal hinge wedges are often better than skirt hinges and burst wedges (nobody uses them anymore, but a well tuned one can be deadly).

All in all, it's a good start for improving. Consider using the outer attachment points for discs in the future as well. A good weapon set up for this would be light ds teeth/razors attached to beater bars. You could also find a way to make it invertible. However, feel free to do what you want, really.

Honestly it's better for you to just experiment with stuff. If you need a hand we'll point you in the right direction- and feel free to showcase it.

Happy building!

Left the bot kinda slow near the end of a 3 minute one. So I upped the power which seemed to help. Currently it can be used inverted but it's not the best without the skirts. I'll look into different skirt types though I can't seem to use metal hinges, they break the second I attach them (the non-anchored part always flies off).

My attempt at a killing bot. I made one a long time ago. This is sort of an improved version I guess.

Updated robot/stats:

It's weakness is it's armor and being off the ground at all.

Standard
Weight: 792
Armor: Plastic 3

Edits: Changed skirts to Aluminum, added battlepack battery (was running low on battery fast) , upped armor to Plastic 3.

If the flipper is standard, do away with the top ramplate and you're going to need wedges at the front. The bot is underpowered as well- not sure exactly how much more you'll need (forgotten- nary pls).

I'm unsure what standard is to be honest.. I've looked a little through the forums and could not find any definition where I looked. Adjusting the bot accordingly.

LW: don't use NPC for the weapon. In DSL, there are two kinds of motors, drive motors and weapon motors, weapon motors include: Eteks/Perms/twmr's (With the exception of the drive vesions)/ Piglets and shtuff. Drive motors are: NPC's/Twmr's (Drive versions)/ Etek (drive)/flatmotor (or slimbody forgot the name) and the astroflight. You should use a double twmr, might be overkill. Could use a twmr or a piglet instead.

HW Flipper: The random ramplates look weird. If it's standard, I think you got it right, if it's IRL the skirts pass through the chassis, the ramplates should be better organized, and I think that's it.

Crawler: i don't even know i have no idea how to build crawlers or how they work

Yeah the ram plate is just to protect the motors when I get flipped. If I could adjust the chassis so they indented where the flippers did I would. But, I settled. Thank you for the info though on the motors and such. Always good to learn more. :3

A few bots I created today. Sorry if there are to many images. I've been trying to keep them more organized while still visually sharing.

Second Lightweight bot ever. More simple but still :P

Weight: 245.1
Armor: Plastic 3

Updated Flipper Bot:

Weight: 754.9
Armor: Steel 5

This last one is mainly because of my stream. A user called Loving Cube wanted bots based off of a cube shape. The first kinda failed but this one is pretty decent I think.

Updated Crawler(?) :

Weight: 798.6
Armor: Aluminum 10

Pretty fun streaming and building :P Going to look into the multiplayer of this game more (gameranger). If it works then you may see more of me around ^^

It's original for sure. Those connectors aren't really the best though. Multiextenders are best for stuff like that

Messed around a little with them just now. Haven't tried them before. Good to know about :)

My first attempt ever at a light weight.

Updated bot/stats:

Armor: Aluminum 1
Weight: 247.9

Pretty weak health wise. But it runs whether it's flipped or not and can do decent damage it seems?

I agree :P I love the game and kinda wish another of it's kind would come out at some point. I love multiplayer personally so that's my limitation here.

As for the connection I agree it would look better connected. Though I didn't feel it was needed at the time so I didn't make adjustments ^^; Might edit that in in a bit.

Been a little bit but I felt I needed a flipper bot. I'm still poking at friends to get the game. I highly prefer multiplayer so I've been trying to get that working with game ranger but my friends feel the game is to outdated :P

Anyway, here it is.

Armor: Titanium 5
Weight: 792.2

Shading of the arm is a little weird in the previews. Sorry about that.

Only tested this a bit. Works against some AI flipper bots which was my major worry. Keeping the arm protected is a big issue on a lot of bots so I decided to protect it. Though I feel the end flipper might not be strong enough to take much damage... Unsure how to fix that.

Try to build to the weight limit - for example on the 2nd one you could probably upgrade the sheet on top, also, personally I'd bring the armour on the first one down from Tite10 to have enough weight to switch the 2Mag weapon motor for a 4mag/Tornado Mer Gearbox.
Finally, a little housekeeping, you can always edit your first post instead of double posting, especially if they're that close in time :P

EDIT: Also, what SHIELD said with the flippermakers. They're not as pretty but SO much more durable.

I tried switching but 4mag didn't fit in. I'll look into it once more.
I thought I was gonna see small dogs on this showcase I am disappointed.

Anyways, for the first bot, you could try and use flippermakers instead of angle connectors, they're more durable and weigh less, might also want to use up the remaining 50 KG's.

As for your second bot, what motor is it using?

I haven't changed much in the second bot from the original post. Just the batteries. I could probably upgrade motors for movement though it doesn't seem to need it. Flippermakers? I'll look for 'em :3

With the weight you have left, you MIGHT be able to add on another row of razors, or just add on a better sheet? I dunno. Your call.

I settled on upgrading the sheet for now. :P

And now for my upgraded second bot:

Aluminium 1
Weight: 779
Switched batteries to 6 ants.

(Moved image to first post of this bot.)

Yeah, take a load of ants out (1 for each spin motor is generally used) and use some NPC drive and you miiiight be able to upgrade that weapon motor to a 4-mag.

EDIT:
As for placement of the NPC's, try using the Left and Rights to almost interlock them, kinda like this (from above)
(Image removed from quote.)

Thank you much for the image! I'll see about that. In the meantime here's another bot I made based off an AI I saw. Not as unique but I liked the design :3 (using the same battery reasoning so it may not be efficient).

Updated bot/stats:

Armor: Aluminum 1
Weight: 797

TWM3R2 motors aren't very good for drive, you'd be better off with two NPCs if you can fit them.

Also you could use much fewer batteries, due to a bug in programming all spin motors only need one ant battery to power them for 3 minutes. You'd probably be better off with 3 ants and NPCs.

Don't know if I could fit them and the armor. I tried a lot of motors but these seem to be the only ones that can fit. The battery bug seems strange... I'll look into it possibly. But for now I'll stick to this way :P If there wasn't a bug it'd be the right way? xD

Tried putting two stronger motors for movement instead of four and adjusted the batteries/armor placement. Not much improvement for movement but every bit helps. Switched tires to see how that works as well.

Weight: 792

I tried this game out quite a while ago but had issues getting mods to work correctly. After finding a link on this site (thank you to the poster) that didn't require a more complicated install I decided to try making bots again. This is my first attempt after coming back.

DSL 2.1 (Standard for the most part.)

Updated images/stats of this bot:

Armor: Titanium 10
Weight: 790.8

Opinions welcomed. I should mention I probably won't know much terminology that may be used in these forums. Any questions about why I designed things a certain way, please feel free to ask.
