I loved me some Full Metal Alchemist.

FMA was amazing... at least the one based on the manga (brotherhood). I never got into the other one.

Yesssssss

say Kill would you like me to have a go at reducing the claw top arena's size for this ?

If you're interested in doing arena work for this, be my guest. I'll give you free reign to come up with ideas... Add me on messenger if you'd like, we can talk about it.

And no kinetic parts means NO KINETIC PARTS! Otherwise your "srimech" will start flipping bots off the top...

Also, it will be 1 on 1's, so no need to worry about anything like what Fracture described.

Actually here's a better idea:

Thread is locked until somebody makes a comic. If you have a comic to post, PM me and I will unlock it so we can get back on topic. (Unless you're a mod, then feel free to do it yourself.)

The next post needs a GTM land comic in it or I'll ban the poster for a day.

Yes ramplates can be used; absolutely NO WEAPONS are allowed under any circumstances; and nasty pickle is not allowed. In fact, glitches aren't going to be allowed at all since this is going to be Realistic Stock.

LOL people calm down, this one won't even be checked off till the end of next week.

And people are really optimistic, considering I've never even hosted a tourney before.

Stop spamming!
Not spamming if it's in a topic about general conversation, mate.

And those claws are annoying.

...They aren't meant to be your friends. If I used claw top it will be WITH hazards to make it more interesting.

General consensus is liking the stock idea right now, glad to hear that. Still not sure about realism.

Well folks, my semester ends next week and I'm likely to have quite a bit of free time. I figured I'd do something a little different... A sumo bot tourney!

TOURNAMENT SIGNUP RULES:
  • I have AI'd before, and will reteach myself before I post signups. Any sort of complex AI for whatever reason is something that YOU will have to come up with. I also highly reccommend that you AI yourself, as I am of little experience when it comes to AI.
  • Brackets will be determined randomly.
  • Stock MW for the first tournament. If I do another one later on, it will be DSL.
  • Realistic Rule: Undecided, discuss please.
  • Type of bots allowed/disallowed
  • Multibots are allowed, but they cannot exceed the weight of a single MW when combined. Both parts of the multibot must be eliminated to win.
  • Tabletop gametype.
  • Arena will be either the clawtop with hazards on or the flex arena with hazards off... Discuss please.
  • Time will be set at three minutes.
  • 2 out of 3 matches.
  • Double elimination if time permits.
  • All bot work except for skin must be done in the bot lab!
  • All ingame glitches allowed.
  • 16 Entrants if I there is enough interest.
The catch: No bot is allowed kinetic parts other than its drive! Wheels are the absolute ONLY thing allowed to move on your bot. Also, no components from the "Weapons" tab are allowed! Bursted wedges are allowed, but must remain static.
