Realized it drives perfectly fine, it's just that the steering's too sensitive.
Had the same problem with stratocaster. What I did for when I was controlling it was to wire just two of the six wheels for steering.

There was a copy of the tech demo floating around, never got it to work properly. Getting it to start up was a project in itself.

To be completely honest, the transition from XP to 7 was extremely natural. A couple minutes of playing around with it, and I found it just as easy to use as XP. It's a lot prettier, too.
