Round 2, part 2/2 is up! Warning: UPSET alert! (Not a major one though. Just a regular upset.) Sage: I checked DoA's smart zone and it is indeed farther back than it needs to be. I moved it up so the edge is at the tips of the razors now, but I don't think it affected your match with Resentful Princess enough to warrant a redo. Also, I have rankings up! Obviously they contain spoilers for the most recent batch of videos, so don't look until you've seen your fights.

Agreed. Is the hammer stable?

Looking good. The slow motion hits are cool--you should film a match at that speed and then upload the highlights

Woah those bots are like exactly the same. The only difference I see is the angle of the front skirts.
Do you want your name changed to SKBT for BBEANS, or stay Shish-kabot?

6 kgs will not get you steel skirts. You would need more like 20.
What you CAN do is use a bigger air tank for the flamethrower. Won't have any effect when you're driving it but will help if you AI it, since the AI can't simply hold down the trigger to keep it going full power.
Now that bot would present some interesting AI possibilities. You could make it not fire the popup spikes until the opponent's health is drained from the flamethrower, or until you run out of air, to make it easier to score 1 hit KO's.

It looks like the flails are stacked in the control board as well.
And I'd be surprised if it doesn't Havok with such a tiny chassis. You have an extra 1.6 kgs; maybe make it a bit bigger.

My smartzone was too far back >:O
The razors didnt fire once during the first fight even though the razors were under the chassis... oh well.
I will double-check your smart zone... but I tend to always put the smart zone so the edge is perfectly aligned with the tips of the razors. It's for that reason that I like AI'ing true popups. Smartzone placement is a lot harder to get right on traditional popups.

Looks just like Noodle's bot that he just posted. I'm surprised that it has a good wedge with the Snapper axle so high, and the ram plate attached to the wedge. Usually that's a recipe for disaster.

No, it's completely new. Planned features:
- Users and Accounts
- Voting
- Automatic bot parsing (stock/dsl, weight, name, weightclass, etc...)
- View inside of bot (high quality raytraced render done serverside)
- 3d preview of bot (WebGL/O3D)
- and more...
Don't overexert yourself... I think the reason Goose never finished his new exchange was because he tried to make too many cool features. If he set the bar just a bit lower I think it would be out by now. That said, if you can pull off all that stuff it would be awesome. Just don't make it so big it crumbles under its own weight (metaphorically speaking). One question. How on earth would you do a 3D preview? The .gmf data isn't contained in the .bot file. You would need a database of all the common .gmf files and skins used by bots and somehow load that in the preview window. Which is just one step away from actually loading the bots in the game. I can imagine problems loading previews of bots with burst motors too, since you would need to get the angle of the motor as well as its .gmf.

Hey Click... the text is not white on the big upsite fight...
Whoops... hope that didn't ruin anyone's day. Actually, since I just discovered that you can do nested spoilers, from now on I think I'll do that instead of the white text.

Good battle 090901, you caught Gigawhirl at a bad time and got it OOTA... if you hit it head-on it would've been a different story. But then Dee Stabilf Lipper probably would have gotten behind me and flipped me OOTA... I needed a 360-degree wedge.
And I'm surprised Gigawhirl couldn't get under Enterprise. Gigawhirl can get under most HW's in Nar AI (it has the best wedge out of all my bots, which is why I entered it.)

Winner's bracket round 2, part 1/2 is up!
Warning: MAJOR UPSET alert! Actually this was, in general, a quite surprising round.
It might be a bit of a wait for the next set of videos though. Just a heads up. I'm going on another trip this week, and another one the week right after that. I'll be home for the weekend, but I don't know if I'll be able to get the videos done in that time. We'll see.

Loser's bracket round 1, part 2/2 is up! There were a lot of fights involving rammers in this group, and a lot of them were good. All that work I put into the v3 rammer AI is paying off now. But is it enough to get the rammers some wins? Odd thought I just had: no tournament has ever been won by a rammer, a rammer hasn't done well in BBEANS since BBEANS3, and yet there's never any shortage of them in tournaments. Is it just because they're easier to build? In any case, they certainly make for entertaining matches.

Does it still have a baby in a bee suit on the bottom? Looks like a good bot, but yeah those razors might block stuff... perhaps angle them down a bit so they're more wedge-shaped.

Well it certainly looks cool. The extenders for the spike racks look exposed though. And how can it be bouncy AND still have good wedges? Do you just not spin the weapons until you're under the opponent?

Yup. :)
You're doing it wrong then... the wedge needs to be sloped the other way, so the bottom of the bot becomes the front when it's upside down. You can't put caster armor on that front wedge so it will end up being exposed an nullifying the advantage of any casters on the top. I'm pretty sure Scrap Daddy has an upside down caster armored VS somewhere in his showcase. Maybe look at that for inspiration.

Looking good, the main problem (but this is an issue with all chained VS and there's nothing to be done about it) is that there are not very many weapons and the bot will quickly become unbalanced.
Rather than cover the front of the bot with ram plates and plows, I would turn it into sort of a VS/rammer hybrid. This would somewhat remedy the issue of not many weapons. Ideally, the ramming spikes would take the brunt of enemy attacks while the tribars would hit exposed parts.
As it is now it kinda reminds me of one of Vertigo's VS's in Pys AI (that is a compliment BTW).

'topspeed':140,'throttle':140,'turn':140,'turnspeed':9.9,
Hax :P
:O you're right! Starcore of all people should know that throttle and turn over 100 is beyond human capabilities, and could be considered cheating... throttle of 130 is excusable though as for some reason that's kind of the standard for AI'ing (though I make sure now to set it to 100 for all the bots I AI). But really I don't think that will improve Fury's performance all that much. Most if its goodness is in the construction.

There are no bindings for the Rookies and the XTRA bots, unless someone made some (though I don't know why you would bother especially since Forkie would require a custom .py).

I figured out what was crashing it, it was the RWseries2 arena made by Daleksec7
That arena seems to work for him. For future reference, if you want both the game and the arena to work: The .py probably tries to import other .py's that aren't on your computer (I'm guessing LuTze.py). I know that if you try to import anything that doesn't exist, the game crashes on startup. If you can get LuTze.py in your Arenas folder it will probably work.
