You could improve it so that you could smaller the chassis so you could get more batteries in it and so you could run it bit longer and also if you use smaller wheels your ride height would be lower and so it wouldn't be so easy to get under it.

This is what is wrong with you. Go under AI folder and then open bindings.py file and add this:

Code: [Select]

# 20 - Team Juggernaut
    list.append(("AW-Nanowhirl","Spinner",{'nose':math.pi*2,'range':15,'radius':0.4,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5,'weapons':(2,)}))
    list.append(("AW-Terminus","Omni",{'nose':math.pi*2,'radius':0.1,'range':15,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5,'weapons':(17,)}))
    list.append(("BW-Microwhirl","Spinner",{'nose':math.pi*2,'range':30,'radius':0.4,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5,'weapons':(6,9,10,11,12)}))
    list.append(("BW-True Love","Omni",{'invertible':True,'nose':math.pi*2,'radius':0.1,'range':30,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':3,'weapons':(12,13,14,15)}))
    list.append(("BW-Peer Pressure","Flipper",{'nose':math.pi*2,'range':99,'radius':0.1,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':4.5,'weapons':(10,)}))
    list.append(("BW-Robokillase","Rammer",{'invertible':True,'nose':math.pi*2,'radius':0.1,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5}))

You miss 5 robots out of the slots where the robots should be. I just copied and pasted ant robot team there so rename them and so on.

Then make new folder under AI folder. Name it as Team20 and put there the robots which should be in slot 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. If you have exported a robot to like juggernaut.bot file then copy it and paste it under Team20 folder and repeat this until you have 6 juggernaut.bot files under Team20 folder. Now rename robots to Bot0, Bot1, Bot2, Bot3, Bot4 and Bot5.

Now you should see the new team when you select new AI robot to fight against. There is only the same robot at each slot because game will crash if there isn't any robot in every single slot.

When you do new robots replace for example Bot0 at your new light weight robot or if you want to do new robot replace either Bot2 or bot5. Bots 1 and 4 are MWs and of course bots 0 and 3 are LWs.

There you go.

Edit: And is this on purpose as "AI\juggnaut.bmp " and not like "AI\juggernaut.bmp"?

Or upload them at imageshack.us and then take that first url for websites from there so you can get a thumbnail version of the pictures, which I prefer much more because of their huge space saving, or you can take that show image -link and put it here.

Do you mean like post here so you could see them or upload them so you could play at them?

If you mean that I should post them here so you could see them go and see them here: https://gametechmods.com/ra2dsl/viewtopic.php?t=319

Use your browser's search and type in spike, you'll find them eventually.

Take a look to my older showcases and you may understand why I use circular chassis.

If you don't get it I use it because my very first Spike Beetle used it and it looked nice and then my Spike Beetle II used it too so that's why The Ultimate Spike Beetle uses circular chassis too. It is for looks.

And about that weight thing. I'll try to get something in to that Dragon Mouse even it is now very full though it may not look like it.

It is normal that you can place NPC motors through chassis and it depends on bot does fast versions do better drive. If you are making medium/light weight bot then you can quite easily see the difference between fast and normal. Fast turns and moves faster but when the bot is heavier there won't be very much difference between normal and fast.

Briefly: Fast NPC motors normally do better drive and on lighter weight even more.

Spiderbait II

When I first time tested my Spiderbait I saw right away that drive wasn't enough powerful to push others around. So I started to build up new Spiderbait. Now its front is little differentally built up but there isn't big difference in efficiency.

And if you wonder why I use T-connector to the arm, the answer is again simple. Any other connetors didn't attach to the motor. Angle connector didn't or neither did flipper segment.

Strengths:
+ Now it has 4 fast NPC motors in drive. So don't bully it or it starts to push you around.
+ Armoring is 3mm titanium. So it is quite much better.
+ Arm is very good self righter if the motor isn't damaged and batteries have power in them.

Weaknesses:
- Front doesn't again move so it won't do much damages when pushing.
- Arm drops off very fast after few hits.
- It is again quite easy to get under it.

Spiderbait

Spiderbait's name comes from the name of the Spiderbait band and the answer is this why it looks like that: When I was on history's lesson last year I quickly drawed that picture because I thought that Spiderbait band needs some sort of logo. So that came up. That looks quite nice and my opinion is that it describes Spiderbait name very well. Only thing what I would change in that picture is that first front legs should hold the star, not to be around it.

Doesn't that bot look like a Spiderbait too?

Strengths:
+ 3mm plastic armoring what is enough because front is pushing other bots enough far of its chassis.
+ Spinner is very devastating. (If flipper segments or T-connector lasts longer than 10 seconds.)
+ Quite good drive to push others around.
+ It cannot be immobilized if the spinning arm is at least somewhat attached to it...

Weaknesses:
- The front doesn't move at all and that's why it won't score much when it's pushing others.
- Getting under it isn't very big challenge.
- ...but it is extremely hard to self-right if it is upside down.

Sunflower Tea

This robot was originally meant to be only Critical Emergency's killer but it turned out quite competitive enemy against everyone. Or how it sounds when your opponent is flying, bouncing and spinning like mad across an arena's floor because of double-perm gearbox spinning its disc and thats why starting to bounce around. Try to make some hits there when your opponent is almost flying on you. And if you wonder why it has Matilda tooth in front of it, it is because of the disc and teeth. The disc's teeth would hit the ground without it and then it would just fly around all the time. Carbon extenders are just for giving extra stability when turning. They aren't vital but good add.

And if you are still wondering where did this bot get its name, the answer is simple. It was the first thing for a name when I saw this robot in front. The disc with its teeth looked like a sunflower and tea just came somewhere. So it is now Sunflower Tea.

And here's two pics of Sunflower Tea doing the job on which it was first built for.

Strengths:
+ It is well covered. Hard to make any very good hits on it.
+ Disc makes nice hits.
+ It is hard to hit it when it is spinning around an arena.

Weaknesses:
- Teeth drop off little bit too fast but not very often.
- Hard to make good turns in full speed when driving and turning at the same time. Normally the robot will fall on its side and then start to bounce around.

Fin(n)ish This

This bot went through many weapon designs on top of it. In the very beginning it should have got a perm 80 motor inside the chassis to spin a that wide saw blade. The perm didn't fit in the chassis properly with other motors so I removed it. Then it got 2 ant weighted 8000 rpm motors spinning saw discs on it. I noticed that they didn't do enough much damages so I changed them. Then it got 2 mag motors spinning... was it some sort of bars or something. If I remember right they costed too much weight so I removed them and replaced them at one mag motor spinning spiked clubs in the end of T-connector.

Well. That was very destructive weapon and I wanted to keep it but the weird unbalanced axles & weapons bug came in. All the motors' axles were now out balanced and my robot jumped around like mad bunny on an arena's floor so I had to remove that spinning weapon too. I think the error comes when you have a burst motor overlapping skirt hinger and have a spinning motor with those two things in your robot or so.

So at last I used two mag burst motors to flipper and to weapon. The weapon isn't anymore that good but it does do some damages and when the flipper and the weapon are launched at the same time they give some air under other robots.

Strengths:
+ Armoring is good... I don't remember what type it was or how thick but I think it is aluminium or steel. It isn't very thick but lasts very well.
+ Flipper plus weapon combination, when throwing, is very mean combination.
+ Has many weapons for everyone.
+ Has very powerful self-rightning mechanism.

Weaknesses:
- Non-existingly small in place turning speed. It won't turn in place almost at all without bit driving back and fort.
- When driving turning speed could be a bit faster but still it is enough good now.

Dragon Mouse Upg.[/u]

So I upgradet the Dragon Mouse and now it has more weapons and now it can stand bit longer against others but still it isn't ultimate bot. See the original strengths and weaknesses on original dragon mouse.

Strengths:
+ Has now more weapons.
+ Is quite invertible now.

Weaknesses:
- Same as on original Dragon Mouse but it isn't any more invertible.

The Ultimate Spike Beetle[/u]

Look who's back with even meaner look!    It's the Spike beetles' youngest and meanest brother! Well not so mean any more. Because of double perm gearbox it has to be bit higher than earlier Spike Beetles and that's why it won't hit any more so hard lower bots. But it is still very mean opponent. Don't go on its way.

Strengths:
+ Has quite good armoring 3mm aluminium.
+ Disc takes mean rpms and EVEN 10mm steel won't last it very long if spikes are all the time smashing opponent's chassis.
+ Is guaranteed Spike Beetle quality.

Weaknesses:
- As you can see double perm gearbox and somewhat good armor take much off the spare weight and so there won't be much weight left to use on batteries or on other things.
- Double perm gearbox eats very much amps and that's why it will start to  curdle down after 1-2 mins of spinning and driving.

Don't Mace Me --- To[/u]

Its name is on purpose written wrong so I could get little word playing on it too, don't make me to/ don't mace me. This is my really first robot on which I use custom texture. And even it looks very dull the appearance is befoolish. First I got axle mounts before spiked clubs but they just bugged sh** out of the game all the time so I tried to switch to spiked clubs which had meat tenders in the end of them. They worked better but not enough. I was sad that I had to remove axle mounts and meat tenders because they made most of the time 1200 hits or around 1000 and they bended so that I could get hits even behind some sort of front covers but axle mounts just didn't want to co-operate and they most of the time just spinned madly around.

Strengths:
+ Has 10mm steel armor.
+ In the front are 60kg hammers which do good damages to others.
+ Sides are armored with spike strips.
+ Weapon arm hits all the time around 500 points. On good hits it shoots 1500 points.
+ When extra armoring starts to drop of, what more it drops that faster the robot comes because it has fast NPC motors on it. Same applys on the weapon arm. When further off spiked clubs drop of that faster it will start to shoot the arm down.
+ It is invertible.

Weaknesses:
- Does it even have any major weaknesses?...
- Well, maybe that its top and bottom aren't covered by extra armor.

Dragon Mouse[/u]

Even Dragon Mouse has word mouse in its name it is a HW bot and even flames look scary in the pictures they aren't that scary but they do have important role. They destroy opponent's drive motors so it won't move any more so fast it would be if motors would be in good condition. And because the Dragon Mouse is rammer bot slow opponent is important to get much points. If opponent moves fast it is hard to get any good hits.

Strengths:
+ Flamethrower tower rotates so you can shoot flames everywhere inside 360 degree circle.
+ Has 10mm steel armor.
+ Has much extra armoring which is good thing.

Weaknesses:
- Its only weapons are attached at one multiextender or what that block is called again.
- Could use bit more powerfuller weapons.
- Is quite much invertible.

Collector[/u]

Collector got its name when it showed its skills when it gathered robot garage's concrete blocks in one pile. This is a robot at the time when I was beta testing DSL-TC's 2.0 version of the mod. I just made something up so I could fight against other robots.

It isn't very challenging opponent but it will do at least something.

Strengths:
+ 10 mm steel armor scare it.    Aannd... That was quite much all of the strengths.
+ Oh yeah. It is invertible.

Weaknesses:
- Bit weak drive though it will move the robot fast.
- It is rammer with bad drive so that means nothing good for it.

I just wanted to whine a bit of the mod and what could be better place than this topic?

First of all there are now extremely often Havok explosions. Average count on my games are something like 10 at one match even that same count was on 1.2 something like 10 per 100 matches. So it was like every tenth match got havok explosion. Second of all there is now very often huge fps lags which drop my fps from 80 to 11 and so that eats game pleasure like pig eats cakes, no mercy. And third of all now there happens somewhat often crashes during a match because of those havok explosions which for example throw robot through a wall and the robot will eventually make whole game engine to crash.

You can't do anything to them but I just hate Havok explosions and slow downs due to them.

OH, and should I upload the picture of it being 3 seconds into the match, and the A.I. hasn't moved even an inch? I can move around for a while, actually, but when I get within range of an robot, it crashes.  I'll try to get a picture of the error ASAP.

On what arena you are? Is that 4 vs. all match on compressor arena and in tournament mode? I got this bug too while beta testing. Clickbeetle said it is a game engine's own bug and that was in stock RA2 too. So it isn't because of mod.

Only thing what is different from yours is that my game crashes after 10 seconds and the arena is that compressor arena and 4 vs. all in tournament mode. In exhibition mode the game runs just fine.

so you mean I can stop emulate some graphics and get less lags when playing that mars arena?

cool! :)

On me the Mars Arena's lag comes from multiple bots on the arena. 1 vs. 1 no lag at all. 3 vs. all bit slow downing.  4 vs. all quite jammy and slow. It depends on bots on the arena how well the arena will roll, smaller and less components that smoother rolling.

When I was beta testing I told that event thing when dragging switch and if you alt tab out of the game and CLICK the game on taskbar, the game crashes. If you use alt tab again the game won't crash but all the wheels and motors are now loose and you have to place parts right on the right pixel so they would be attachable.

Just crossed my mind that what if those .bmp files are coded on wrong way? Because on .jpg files there are at least 5 different types of them now.

I think if those .bmp files are bit changed along the time and now the game doesn't like at them because they use bit different code inside the picture files.

Just a thought.

Reinstall the mod.    Then export them to files and that's all.

Or if you don't want to reinstall whole mod then when you have extracted the DSL-TC 2.0 mod, go to that folder and go under teams folder. Now copy Team0 folder and paste it there where the game and the mod are. Go to the same place in that game's folder too and then paste and overwrite. That's it. Now you have the walrus. Now export those bots to files so you won't miss them again.

General Support / Some pretty major bugs...
« on: August 27, 2006, 07:54:31 AM »
While I was beta testing the game, it crashed on me most of the time when I clicked quit button.

When I formated my window's HD and reinstalled whole windows the mod didn't never crash again even I tried to make it.

The game is very delicate and if there is something wrong in your windows or in your computer, the game will crash. For example wrong file name on a text file which is just for you.  :D  Well not that delicate but even I thought my computer was clean the game crashed but when I formated my HD and reinstalled whole windows the game never didn't crash again. So not until NOW my computer is clean.

And of course that downloaded version of the game makes the game crash much more easily on cd version mod. There is some difference between downloaded and cd versions but I don't know so clearly what's the difference between them.

General Support / Game crashing...
« on: August 27, 2006, 07:23:20 AM »
The crash may happen because of your computer because my game crashed quite often during beta testing when I went to team hq and then came back and pressed quit button. Then game crashed.

When I formated whole windows HD and reinstalled windows and then tried to make the mod crash again it never didn't. So I think it is up to your computer issues that the game crashes. It is very delicate game and it will very easily crash if there isn't something right in your windows or computer.

That was bit unnecessary but I forgot about that BUT because I have the DSL-TC 2.0 already and many others don't and I can't give the link to the file because I think I don't have rights to do that.

And why I said that was because goose has been off at msn and what I have seen, away from all forums for good time and that time is something like 2 months if I don't totally remember wrong.

That's why I was thinking that he has cleared up his messes in his real life.

But I apologize goose.

PS. I wasn't at any nice mood on that time when I wrote that. I was mad for other things and that's why I wrote that.
