Vertigo, it is wicked awesome that you are taking the time to learn this stuff on your own.  It can be really frustrating sometimes, but when you get it nailed it is really rewarding.

*clicks Good button for respect to Vertigo*

Wait. What was this thread about again?

Really way too much history and members went down with that forum...

Agreed. It was quite a kick in the nuts too. Would have been nice if whoever pulled the plug had given us a bit of notice so we could archive what we could.  I realize that they probably didn't think anything of it because it was an old game, but damn.  Talk about having the rug pulled from under you!

JD? Do you know that video?
Was just thinking about Simon Pegg and Robot Wars

Haha! What a riot! I hadn't seen that before. XD

Amazing tournament! Props to joe for all the friggin' effort it must be to do something of such a huge scale.  Haphazard2 didn't go as far as I wished. But it put up a great fight most of the time.

In retrospect... a giant pyramid filled with ballasts would have won this tournament.  :P

GTM the Movie cast Part II

Jonzu95 : David Spade

Jonzu and David both have a thing for chicks... Once Jonzu starts admiring ones of the non-cartoon variety the resemblance will be stunning!

System32 : Denis Leary

Denis Leary is crass to say the least.  He doesn't give a sh*t about your feelings and he will speak his mind without remorse. A perfect rep of Sys32.

Sonny Resetti : Simon Pegg

Did you know that Simon Pegg also makes replica bots based on Robot Wars? Ok ok ok... I made that part up.  But just look at him! That is soooooo Sonny! Watch some of Simon's movies right now and you will never ever ever be able to erase the thought of Sonny being played by Simon in a movie.  Ever.

Velocity EVO : Ewen Bremner

Ewen (the guy on the left) is just goofy as all hell... and would make an excellent dorky sidekick to David Spade all the way.

Clickbeetle : Patrick Stewart

Super intelligent.  Commander of the Enterprise. Leader of X-men. Reknown within internet memes worldwide.  If the movie was called "Lord of the Humans" there would be one human to pwn them all... and that is Patrick Stewart.

Natef : Keanu Reeves

Natef is a mixed drink, one part emo the other part badass.  Unharnessed potential just like Neo in the Matrix.  A powerful force when focused. (Oh, and Constantine was pretty awesome too!)

G.K. :  Jean Reno

Jean Reno's mug just screams Tournament Paramedic.  He is ever so cool under pressure (most of the time) and has proven to be a hero more than once when needed.

Craaig : Jake Busey

Jake has that "Million Dollar Smile" look to him. It wouldn't surprise me if Craaig walks around with the same grin on his face 24/7.  Jake can be cocky yet insanely likable in his movie roles.  Silly wit to boot! and we all know that Craaig is all about silly wit.

Scrap Daddy : Tyrese Gibson

You would have to watch 2 Fast 2 Furious or Death Race to understand that Tyrese is an outspoken badass that has nooooooo problem calling you out if you are being a tool.  I know that Scrap is not black... but we can all imagine right? right?  :P

The Ounce : Ewan McGregor

It's tough to find an actor that smiles like a snow leopard... but Ewan is your man!  Forget everything you know about him and Star Wars... he is way cooler that crap.

URjak: Rory Cochrane

Contrary to popular belief... URjak is not a spider... He is, indeed, a human being. Rory is a calm, sly, collected joe.  The perfect URjak.  Don't believe me? Go watch Empire Records right now.

JD: Nicholas Cage

:P

Nice job JD, but APIII was never good (duh) so yea....

Heh thanks. I kinda feel bad though... I rushed that bot just before I left on vacation to meet the deadline.  I didn't really try to make it look like your bot much at all... I just stuck to the guidelines that GK set.  I can't believe how fragile OK blades are.  During testing, those blades would get lobbed off like crazy.

My only hope is that the motor can get up to full speed, because it launches opponents quite nicely after a few moments to speed up.

I <3 what Sage built btw.

That is brilliant JD. You gotta do all the regular members!

Will try... you would be surprised how much thought is required to figure out relevant actors for you all though! haha!

I thought about starting a thread called:  "Who plays who in GTM the movie?"

But, this thread is similar enough... This is what I came up with so far.

ACAMS: Sam Elliot
All the way! Gruff guy that is no stranger to guns. Mean enough to kick your ass, yet cool enough at times to chill out and have a drink or two with you.

Frezal: Val Kilmer
Mainly for Val's amazing performance as the kickass Gay guy in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang".  Sharp enough to kill you with wit.  Does not take crap from anyone. Val would fill the role nicely.

JoeBlo:  Jim Carrey
Isn't Jim Carrey awesome in so many ways it's almost kinda surreal? Joe just seems to rank high up there on the GTM awesome scale.  He's witty... yet can be serious.  Most of the time when he is being serious you don't know whether to take him seriously or not.  (Kinda like Jim's movie roles over the years)

Lloop D Lloop: Adam Sandler
Lloop has this quirky kind of humor that makes me chuckle from time to time... but can be outright annoying as well. Whenever he posts some thing silly, I can't help but think of Adam Sandler.

Madiaba:  Pat Morita (aka Mr Miagi)
Wax on Wax off... 'nuff said.

Naryar: Adrian Brody
I am still not sure why this matchup comes to mind... but whenever I try to picture Nary I think of Adrian Brody... I dunno... Adrian, to me, just looks wicked French. :P

Squirrel Monkey: Billy Boyd
Best known for his role as Pippen in Lord of the Rings.  Silly, at times.  Probably clumsily break things. But we all can't help but like the guy no matter what trouble he gets himself into...

Sage: Edward Norton
Edward, an amazing actor, can play serious roles in a wide variety of films.  Sage just seems to be well rounded, cool, and collected just like Edward.  But also seems to have an edge to him that comes out from time to time that reminds you that he is no pushover.

I will try to think of more later... you all can think of some as well if you want.  :D

I have no idea why I was laughing that entire video. But that IS cool.

Haha! Same. Probably because it looks like a weird robotic reindeer.

They should put the thing in a reindeer costume and take it to parades.  Charge 5 bucks each for people that want to kick it.  = Profit!

When you post in a thread that hasn't been posted in for a while with something rather meaningless.

Heh, I think the bump rule becomes more and more defunct because there are so many crap threads being started... Sometimes the older threads are just a better option.

How do you film a full match with Fraps? I have the trial, and I can only film for about 15-20 seconds before the vid stops. :rage

You buy it.
