Yeah, thought about the flippers, what about the ring arena?

Haven't used that one before. Guessing it's a ring shape with short walls?

Wow I haven't seen messsymesss before... That thing sure is compact...!

@Hi5er pretty sure you need to do snapper loading to fit all 3 Z-teks onto one extender

Fair play, thanks for the correction. I'm still trying to remember the names of these again haha...

@R01, In case you're going to go down the legit route of battery/control board stacking, I've had the most success stacking the batteries first then raising the control panel to the level where it sits on top of the battery and clicking one notch down. For reference, when it clips inside the battery there should just be a couple of cylinders on the board and a small rectangular box sitting just above the battery and the rest of the board is "submerged" inside the supervolt - let me know if you find a better way. I normally give up to be honest, I've only managed it a couple of times with that technique.

I was using a Snapper 2, but like Redace said, I had a supervolt powering mine. The drum is quite weak, but if you manage to stay under your opponent it doesn't matter too much, but it can't handle repeated charges in that's for sure. I just wanted to see if a MW drum bot was feasible lol.

I will add it to my showcase soon.
I was thinking more about hammers, also thought that was your idea, hoping to see a LW drum next.

Also made this:

THAT is fantastic haha.

A LW drum will certainly be on my to do list. I'm surprised Redrum actually worked... I'm sure the wedge is the main reason it did.

I'm up for any stock tournament, but would need a bit of time to design a new bot, also what arena?

I would too for sure, I go on holiday on the 21st August so I would either need to try and fit this in before, or finalise the details now and get it moving when I'm back.

As we're limiting weapons somewhat, maybe an arena that allowed for flippers to have some hope of winning by using an arena with low walls... Any suggestions?

Maybe Robot Wars arena with hazards disabled?

Are there any other similar ones to this? I seem to recall one of the BBEANS tournament stages was similar to this, or at least it is in my head.

Latest Idea:

Creative Clash.

Stock HW tourney.

SnS, Pop-ups and HS banned.

HS Hybrids allowed, but some form of nerf, i.e. no more than 2 ZTek motors could be used for the spinning weapon.

Would there be any interest?

The eFFe glitch is your friend for getting the overlap.

Mount an extender on the snapper and hover another extender over an attachment point on that extender, fire the snapper and the extender that was hovering should still be black. Attach it "in mid air" and you should be able to fit a Ztek on both floating extenders, then when you test the bot and go back everything should have reset and the motors should be overlapping.

There's a really good tutorial on Click Beetles site for this:
http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm#effe

Then you should be able to reduce the size of the chassis and maximise weapons.

Predictions:

Group 1 Winners:
Generic Spinner
Krastos, the Glue Maker

Group 2 Winnres:
Mr. Claws
Faceless Void

Group 3:
AuckFGOD
Aquarius

Group 4:
Tough Love 2
Gold Miner

I'd like Aquarius or Gold Miner to win, but I'm thinking one of the generic spinners or pop-ups will take the crown.

From experience I can confirm rotating the camera does help and getting the "super zoom" by going to the overview tab, zooming in as if you're taking a picture and going back to the components tab.

If all else fails, resort to movepixel as it makes it even easier.

Cool bots by the way!

Dayum man, I didn't even get my first entry submitted and some people taking up 2 slots?

I can't believe I signed up in the golden era and quietly left a month or so later.

Now that I'm really into this thing it feels like not many others are!

Another bbeans would be great! Or if yugi is planning something special to fill the void I'm all for getting behind that!

Bot submitted!

Not sure if it work that way, you'd need to ask an admin. Just reminding you incase.

I might message an admin anyway just to clear that up for future challenges!

Still not received anything from hi5er. I know it says that start date is the 20th but the post was submitted on the 18th, just making sure you don't get a DC because you forget :P

I'm literally in the botlab now, I knew I'd be busy for a couple days so thought if I put start/end dates it would be ok?

I don't do Ironforge, but love the concept!

Still working on mine, probably have to do a new design as it works fine in botlab however in arenas it flips itself over(happens to most versions in the combat arena)

Sounds familiar... *cough*Drum bot issues*cough*  ;) ;) ;) ;)

(Image removed from quote.)
i hate underweight
this bot is underweight
DSA

Stick a ramplate or something on the front for some protection with the extra weight. Also the bot doesn't have enough power.

Check this out: https://wiki.gametechmods.com/index.php?title=Amps

You have 3 pinks which put out approximately 30 amps.

Your Snapper 2 (30) and 2 Angle Drives (10 each) means your currently draining 50 amps when driving and using your weapon, meaning you are 20 amps under power (approx).

Maybe a blue snapper (as you're not using a wedge) would be better and add in a bigger battery?

Good to see something new from you though mate, you been quiet lately!

North Tyneside, a county of england. Because States are too mainstream for the UK, apparently.

We don't need states because different counties don't have different laws.

Except Cornwall, they want independence apparently.
