Really hope I don't get drawn against Kurt, those things look terrifying. If my wedge is good enough I may be able to cheaply beat a lot of these just by them deflecting off of it and flying OOTA.

Edit; a little bit of feedback - I went through all of the components in the bot lab just to check them out and it seems that if you download the patch version and extract it to the game folder that it doesn't overwrite some of the components, but rather duplicates them. Obviously This isn't too big of an issue (And I'm guessing the standalone game version wont have this) but I thought I'd point it out nonetheless.
Argh, I forgot to include the dummy Components.cfz in the patch. I will re-upload it shortly.
In the meantime, you can fix the component duplication issue by deleting Components.cfz (in your main RA2 folder).
Edit: it's fixed.
Works perfectly now. Thanks Click btw, as a predominantly IRL builder I muchly appreciate all the new components ^^ - And of course all the hard work put into this. *applause*

It's time. *Ahem* I'm going to start my return post with a formal apology to anyone who was interested in my last tournament planned, a lot of things got in the way hence it being (a year?) since I have been on GTM. Basically, I started my first year of sixth form, and just before then, I met a wonderful girl who I have been seeing for almost a year and a half now and I took the decision to take time away from my hobbies to focus on her and my education. (I've always been kind of a nerd :P) Not only that but I've been having real issues with mental and physical health over the last year and I didn't really know when I would be ready to come back and (most probably) face the hate of me not finishing a tournament, as I had said I wouldn't do that in the past. I really wanted to get back into RA2 recently and the urge had just become too strong to resist as I have a better computer now that can run it smoothly and record videos without issues and frame rate lag. So, I guess this post is just to say... I'm Back! Obviously I wont be as active as I was before due to education etc (final A level exams and mocks are inbound) but dammit I'm back and it feels good to be posting again. But anyway - The reason I'm posting on this thread (And I didn't really know where else it put it tbh) is that I'm going to start getting into the flow of producing bots and showcasing them, as well as participating in some tournaments along the way. I'm really not interested in running any of my own (well at least for the moment) as I know I don't have the time for it and I don't want to hassle people with my delays. Obviously, I'm going to be rusty at the whole RA2 thing and I will take all advise in and try to learn from it. Bots will be coming soon lads, so be expecting some piles of junk soon Downloading all my tools again right now :D EDIT: I only just realised I had left my post count on 666 for the longest time, wow, I really am the devil here XD

You must have never gotten a single insightful comment about aesthetics in your whole life. I don't blame you, nobody give a rat about aesthetics nowadays.
Telling someone to "Improve the skin" is just as useless as "your skin sucks". If that's somehow useful I should go to every showcase and say "Your bot's weak, make it stronger" with no other explanations.
You aren't getting the point I'm trying to make. If you expect people to have to explain every little detail on how to make the bot better then you might as well give them the bot and tell them to do it. The whole idea is that you change the bot based on feedback you're given, and the way you do that is up to you. This is what makes so many clone bots because people just copy the same thing everyone says rather than experimenting themselves.

It's his choice who he listens to and to be honest, everyones opinion is a valid viewpoint. You guys shouldn't really be slamming each other for posting personal opinions of what is right and what is wrong with the bots.
Yeah I know I'm going to get a "Too many cooks spoil the broth" response here but in my opinion, the more the merrier. The whole idea of a showcase is to present your bots to the community, and if you want some of the members to not get involved with the thread then how can it be considered a good presentation if only certain people are able to evaluate the bots shown?
You are confusing "bad advice" with someone being a douchebag. Let's take an example from your showcase.
Not too bad, skin sucks though.
He's not trying to help.
Why am I posting this? Because someone need to put the spotlight on the bottomfeeders trying to feed their own ego among the chaos.
I don't really care if he was trying to help or not, he still gave me an opinion which I can base my next move for the bot on. Him saying the skins sucks is just a more blunt way of saying "Improve the skin." -This is the whole two sides of the same coin deal. It depends at how you look at a person's response.
