Due to such high interest, I've decided to put up a poll now.
Please Vote if you are interested in entering. 103

I'm not sure, but it is pretty vicious.

Tournament Archives / Re: The Perfect Axe-ample« on: February 04, 2016, 10:36:35 PM »Any specific parts you want legalised, Maz? Well, allowing parts which are for decor doesn't seem to be too big of an issue; The dominator spike is a tricky one seeming as it's really good, but at the same time it's bots like dominator that kinda inspired this tournament. I'll let others decide on the spike. 105

No worries, At the top of the list it says "I am forbidding..." "All cheatbot2 parts except 1 Judge burst"
Basically, you can't use any of the cheatbot2 parts, however, you are allowed one judge burst. I'll make that clearer in the OP. 107

I cleaned up the OP.
Also DG, go ahead. :P 108
Tournament Archives / Re: The Perfect Axe-ample« on: February 04, 2016, 09:31:30 PM »I feel like entering. Are frenzy hammers allowed as weaponry? Didn't really think about it. I guess they are still hammers so they shouldn't be allowed. Also, from my experiences with them, they're quite glitchy, so I'm not going to allow them :P 109

#Nary
I'd be interested, but:Lastly, There will be a rule that a robot will have to be showing controlled movement, if the robot is moving but is upside down for example, it will be given ten seconds to self-right or it is considered immobile. This excludes being stuck on a wall, or if a bot is being pushed around upside down by it's opponent(s). 111
Tournament Archives / Re: The Perfect Axe-ample« on: February 04, 2016, 04:56:38 PM »so it's hammer bot only ? Alright. That'll be intredasting. I'm calling it Axes because I don't want SledgeHAMMERs etc being used. Also I stated that hybrids must be Flippers, Spikes or Drills, not rammers. Also, I call an Axe an Axe, and a Hammer a hammer. If I go into a DIY shop, I don't say I want a hammer if I want an axe. :P 112

Glad there's a lot of axe-lovers out there.
Any other corrections or queries before I put the poll up? 113

I was going to ban hammers (Lol Banhammer) As they aren't axes - The big sledge hammers are kinda too brutal in my opinion as well. Splinter style side axes are okay however. Also; a robot will have to be showing controlled movement But i'm pretty sure you kinda knew that. 115
Tournament Archives / Re: The Perfect Axe-ample« on: February 04, 2016, 01:29:15 PM »Why DSL 2.1? I guess preference, but I feel 2.2 gives you way more and is easier to manage. Yes, they are allowed. I was going to write about Robo-Chicken actually XD 116

Well this is what the discussion is for, I shall update rules if you guys like. Also the 180 degree thing, I really should've thought about that!
It would be an honour to host the first DSL 2.2 tournament in truth. I guess it would be so much more viable for IRL designs as well. As long as this is the general opinion I reckon I could change that rule. I am forbidding any super-fast robots that I feel are unrealistic.I feel like these rules are a reaction to my tournament 1) A little ![]() 2) I was going to go back and change that and completely forgot to. Any other ideas guys? 117
Tournament Archives / The Perfect Axe-ample Sign-ups! (Deadline 17/03/16) (Expired)« on: February 04, 2016, 11:17:55 AM »![]() DEADLINE 00:00am GMT 17/03/16 The basic premise is, this an axe robot exclusive tournament. I feel as if Axe robots are somewhat neglected, as Flippers and Discs have basically taken over, and I want them to have some love too. I will be AI’ing the robots, unless you want to give me specific bindings (in this case just send them over with your entry.) Nobody can be entered until a bot is received and accepted by me. I won't be entering the tournament. The tournament will be run in DSL 2.2, and is strictly IRL. By this I mean that if I don't think the robot could be made IRL, I will reject it without question, and ask for you to change the part which I feel isn't IRL, or to send an entirely new entry. However, if you can provide me with some photographic evidence that it is possible, I will reconsider. I will be accepting 16 entrants, which if not filled by the deadline, will be available for already entered contestants to enter another robot. I'm not setting the deadline yet until this is in sign-ups as it may take a while to gather interest and/or solidify the rules. The weightclass of robots in the tournament are to be Middleweight. (Up to 398.9kg/399.0 – The game sometimes doesn't feel like accepting bots on 399.0 to be MW for some reason) I will accept bots that fall into a weight category lighter than specified, but not the other way around. (For obvious reasons.) I am forbidding; All custom components Custom Smartzones All AI parts All cheatbot2 parts except cosmetic/decorative parts (1 judge burst motor is allowed also) The Frenzy Hammer BFE is eligible for making your robot more IRL looking and burst motor arc editing ONLY. AAM, Thyrus Glitch, ZeroG, Text Editing or any other out-of-game modification (Apart from skins obviously) are also forbidden. In-game glitches, such as Stacking, eFFe Glitching, Axle Loading, Snapper Loading etc is also forbidden. Only axe robots are allowed in this tournament. This includes side axes, such as those seen on Splinter for example. Concussion weaponry, such as Sledgehammers are also prohibited, as in my opinion, a hammer is not an axe. Only piercing style Axes are allowed. Weapon spam is forbidden, so try not to make an axe with 17 thousand spikes on the end. ![]() The Dominator spike is allowed. Hybrids Ruling -Hybrids are allowed. However, If a robot does have more than one weapon the axe MUST be the primary/main weapon on the robot. -This includes robots like 834ST, where the axe and flipper are one system. (But obviously 834ST's primary weapon was its flipper so do refrain from making a complete 834ST clone.) -Mortis style robots are also allowed, as long as the flipper isn't the main focus of the robot. -Rammers, Spinning Disks or Flywheels are not allowed, as they defeat the objective of the tournament. -Flamethrowers are allowed. (If flamethrower Hybrids are actually a thing people want to do.) Again, the axe must be the main weapon however. Clusterbots are allowed, and they have to add up to the weight of a MW. BOTH bots have to be destroyed/immobilised for the whole robot to be eliminated. Also, both robots must require axes. You can't have one with an axe and the other with a flipper and call it a hybrid. Walkers, shufflers etc are forbidden. The format is standard deathmatch elimination, there will by 3rd and 4th playoffs however. I will use the BBEANS 2 to be used and hazards will be on. I have given the arena a reskin; Robots are allowed one Havok Restart a battle, a second Havok will result in automatic disqualification. Note, I am only restarting a match if the Havok affects the general progression of the battle. Time will be the standard 3 mins. If time runs out, I will be the judge and will use Robot Wars judging criteria (S, C, D, and A.) Bots can be upgraded as long as it's before the end of the sign-ups deadline and I approve the change. There will be an awards section after the tournament, this will also include any grudge matches and fantasy matches. I am forbidding any super-fast robots that I feel are unrealistic. Lastly, There will be a rule that a robot will have to be showing controlled movement, if the robot is moving but is upside down for example, it will be given ten seconds to self-right or it is considered immobile. This excludes being stuck on a wall, or if a bot is being pushed around upside down by it's opponent(s). Sign-ups 1. RedAce 2. DeadGenocide 3. KoK 4. Thyrus 5. Thrackerzod 6. battledutchman 7. Clickbeetle 8. Squirrel_Monkey 9. Scorpion 10. Mazakari 11. Gauche Suede 12. Avalanche 13. El Chickenado 14. El Chickenado 15. Geice 16. KoK Orange - Received, Pending Red - Problem, you have been notified Green - Accepted Purple - Accepted and AI'd 119
