I think with regards to why DSL IRL is so played now, especially in 2017 is mainly because its just so easy to get into compared to the other metagames currently. Stock's suffering from severe stagnation right now, with most of the builds now being the same bot types with a few things changed (HS/VS/Popup/the occasional stiltbot/SnS if they're allowed). DSL-S in 2.2 suffers from balancing problems which is why mechavore flywheels and other replica weapons reign dominant and Ironforge is the most balanced of the competitive metagames right now, but tends to have flippers reign supreme in arenas with OotA zones.
With DSL-IRL, most of the people look at this and tend to have their own design ethos, and along with the enormous variety in robot designs right now, its easy to see why DSL-IRL is so often played. With RA2CF and other stuff, IRL's possibilities have become almost limitless, with the limit being the havok engine. :P
I'm not saying that I won't enter TWatDW - hell, I may try to build something if I have the chance to, but theres a reason so few are going to other metagames now in 2017, with some exceptions like Revolution 2 and RA2 Mafia.
Aye - I remember that back when I used to build (so, 2010-12, nothing special) that the trend away from Stock was already starting. I think back then was when DSL-IRL started to get some attention - Freeziez did a series of tournaments (Battlebots?) which seemed to be one of the most popular around at the time.

Shifting the conversation from killing to loving just like that. It's pretty impressive
you're on gaymetechmods. are you really surprised ?
The subjects are hardly surprising but the creative ways people find to get there are, in a way
what about loving, THEN killing?

I know my opinion means squat, but I thought she was a rather good Prime Minister. Either way, everyone's allowed to have their own opinion. It's a shame she's passed, but I suppose she's been ill for a while. Good leader or not, it's best we show her the respect that she deserves now she's no longer with us.

you guys can collectively be dicks if you want, I know most of you hate me:L
You know this sort of self-pitying, amongst other things, is the reason most of you dislike you.
to be quite honest, Mr. Frenchy, I never much cared for your opinion anyway.
our past confrontations should make you think differently
whatever. I'm not really looking for an argument, anyway. I'll just drop it

to be quite honest, Mr. Frenchy, I never much cared for your opinion anyway. but it'd take an idiot not to expect people to hate me for the antics that I have partaken in previously, would it not?

Most men wouldn't hug you for free; I doubt anyone other than those clinically mad would fight to earn that 'privilege'.

After single-handedly ****ing up everything to do with its forum and members, I'm going to be leaving this place indefinitely, because anything I do here will just do more damage, and I've already caused enough of that. I've tried changing, but I guess I'm just destined to be the little dickhole that I always was.
To all the people I have wronged while I'm here, I'm sorry. I'm so very, very sorry. I don't wanna leave you guys, but it's best if I do. If ACAMS would delete my account to stop me from coming back, I'd be much obliged.
Have a good life, guys. And if you'd ever find it within yourselves to forgive me, you're fools.

what is it
does it have a spinner on that disc
is the spinner on a burst motor
it is a bad spinner
do you mean is the disc on a spinner? if so yes
the spinner is on a burst because back then i didn't know the wonders of skirt hinges
no caps yay
edit: oh and i don't want to bother editing it
Protip: there's no point posting a bad bot knowing it's a bad bot, and not being prepared to improve it.

Yes, it's overpowered.
and this is a HW ? it could be downgraded to a MW without any problem.
Usually when a bot weighs 543.7kgs, yes.

Like 20 miles away from my house they've built this really new hospital for amputees. Apparently it cost an arm and a leg to build.
