In that text, it shows how complicated it can be, but it is doable. I talked to Click how I failed at .py, and he helped me get it working. Consider it info and trouble shooting. I also included example bindings, failed py, and Click's own version of the cube.py in text form, all you need to do is put it in python and save it as a .py Basically, all this is, is a bunch of text that explains how to recreate the original Ironbot way back when. It has examples of broken code, along with an archive of the pm's and some working code. Considering the PM info, and the py's, I think you can turn this into a working guide. The PM's explain how the code works, and I have enough of the resources to make it work. I hope you can make heads and tails out of this, and get this out there in a form people can use. Thank you.

So, I just upgraded to windows 10.
And, RA2 likes to crash my PC if it's not in compatibility mode.
That, I can live with. However.
I have Realtek HD audio drivers, and RA2 likes to act weird about it.
On every version I try (excluding stock) It says an error message saying that the sound could not be initialized, and it was continuing anyways. Then, It's laggy to the point where I get a frame update every 10-15 seconds.
Any solutions you guys can think of?

This is the first bot I ever built in Ironforge, and I think it's pretty mean.  What do you think? Ok for a first bot?

Stock MW 1 entry per person, 16 entries no BFE/AAM/Paint Puffing The rules will be similar to Ironbot, but I'll give you a gist here. Bots must move via wheels, not other components.
Bots must have 2 powered wheels or more.
No popups allowed.
Limit of 2 casters this time around.
Once a Component breaks, it is lost for the rest of the tournament.
You get spare wheels equivalent to 1/2 of the total wheels on your bot.
You get one spare control board.
Matches are 30 seconds with no immobilization warning.
Arena is Containment Cube.
I STRONGLY recommend that you AI your bot with Omni, but if not, i'll try to work around it.
You are eliminated when you only have 1 or 0 powered wheels left, or when you are ko'd with no spare cb
winners and losers will be divided into 2 groups and all the winners fight each other, and all the losers fight each other.
If there is an odd number of bots in both groups, one from each group will fight each other.
If there is an odd number of bots total, the bot in the loser's group gets a bye.
Once we are down to 4 bots, they will engage in a battle to the death with no immobile warnings for 2 minutes until we have a winner.
Prizes for the top 4 bots will be a reserved spot in my next tournament.

On October 3rd, 2004, we lost Lu-Tze. She changed how RA2 works today. If it wasn't for her, we wouldn't have some notable arenas, fun custom components, or maybe even the DSL mod. And the tenth anniversary of her passing is coming up, so I thought in the meantime we could brainstorm on how we would dedicate October 3rd, 2014 to her. Thoughts, words of wisdom, and any other means of expression are welcome.

IIRC, someone was working on a gmf plugin for blender, but idk if it was finished or not. I am using blender like a madman now, and i might make some components if i could get my hands on it. I think it would be a great achievement for the community if we wouldn't be so restricted on the official 3ds Max plugin. I believe if we finish it, we would have a lot more accessibility to customization. I'm willing to help if we give it a shot. Would anyone be interested, or do you think it would be a waste of time?

I'm getting a job for the summer at a machine shop, and I want to spend the money on a robot. I don't know what weight class to choose, but I don't want it to be insect-weight. I'm hoping to pick a weight class with a lot of competitors, and note that I'm on the US side of robots. What class should I choose?
