Title: No-Limit Mayhem
Post by: Nightraven Shade on January 14, 2020, 10:52:22 PM
Ok so just something fun and destructive a couple of single elimination events

No-Limit Mayhem

Event Rules

4 rumbles of 4 bots each
winners advance to final rumble
matches will have NO TIME LIMIT it will be a fight to death
arena used will be RW2016
there will be a spinner competition and a flipper competition
havoks will restart matches without already eliminated bots
if a bot causes 5 havoks it will be removed from the rumble

Build Rules

DSL 2.2 IRL pack will be used
DSl IRL HW (800kg)
Steel 10 and Ti 10 is banned
wedglet damage will be off for both events (provided i can get the patch)
No Clusterbots (obviously)
all free hinges are banned
no hybrid weaponry allowed
the 2020 weapon and burst rules are in effect
OBJ, CF and BFE are allowed
any "floating" components will be auto DQ (if you lose your disk i expect anything meant to be attached to it to fall also)
No custom components of any kind (skins, hitboxes or meshes)
no custom .Py
If you AI your bot yourself that AI will be used, if not i will AI it for you.
any complaints about the AI or how it was used will ban you from future tournaments till i say otherwise.

Entry Details

You may enter 1 bot in each event if signups are slow i will allow another entry
i will not be entering either event
signups are open until filled
if there are still spots to be filled on 2nd feb then 2nd signups will be allowed or i will adjust the format to 3 way melee.

any questions of if i missed anything let me know.

An event focusing entirely around endurance?

My time has come.

This is a really interesting idea. Only big issue I could see happening is still active bots chasing after the pixel chassis of a dead bot or havoking over the mess of components everywhere.

fair point about the pixal chassis, but odds are all bots will need to be immobile for that to happen. Eventually the 2 active bots will get close enough to draw each others attention. if i deem one not moving freely enough then it will be manually counted out as for the havoking on random parts, if that happens and it drastically effects a bot then restart with eliminated bots removed and a percentage of battery from each bot based on the amount they had left.

Some slight rule changes to fit with the 2020 ruleset

This is the first IRL tournament I've seen that doesn't allow skinned components.  Interesting.

ill cancel this due to interest, dont think people want to build a bot for 1 comp with the new 2020 rules just coming out
