There was already a thread about it, but there is a program called gameranger (http://www.gameranger.com/ (http://www.gameranger.com/))
I tried it out with a buddy of mine and there was very little to no lag.
have you guys tried it?
me and him both have 20mb/s+ internet, bur still, I was impressed.

I tried it out with sage a while back and it definitely performed up to my expectations. We also met a random RA2 player there that joined in when he saw our server online. If it had been hamachi then he would have needed to be on the list of people for that server before hand.

I don't see why we are stillvusing hamachi all the time if itvdies all of this.
Ill check it out later if anyone wants to play.

How do you guys play DSL online with this thing?

DSL would be the same as stock, just point gameranger to the dsl folders ra2.exe
of course, both players need dsl.

Just make sure everyone's running the same game in the server room and all is fine :D
Remember even mods like Nar AI's components will probably clash.

Was kinda laggy for me when I played Plazmic and ty but I attribute that to the distance between us (they live in the UK and I live in the US)

I had very minor lag. I had huge, unplayable lag against Logan though.

You mean switch from Stock to DSL? Easy, just go to your profile, find RA2 and select your DSL EXE instead of your Stock one.

Beware of the AGOD though......
and now the most effective weapons for VSes are Beater Bar+ DS Light/Beater Bar + Razors combo.

2) Just look for Robot Arena 2 in the servers list. Should be under R

It skips straight from Risk II to Rome:Total War. Does that just mean no one's playing, or am I doing something wrong?

Go to Edit->Options->Robot Arena 2 and give the path to the version of RA2 that you want to use.

Like I said, not many people use gameranger for RA2 anymore. When Goose first made this topic people were using it like columbian cocaine but now, not as much.

There aren't any RA2 games being hosted ATM. If you have a decently fast internet connection, you can host one on gameranger and wait for someone here to join in.

Thyrus and I tried to play earlier, but for whoever wasn't the host (we both tried hosting), it took us to the main menu instead of the online game, and didn't show anything when the multiplayer option was clicked. Anyone know what's going on?

hamachi = 20 second lag
gameranger = 10 second lag
unfortunately it's still unplayable for anyone but the host :/

I remember last time i tried online, think we gave up after like one game, its just not worth it with all the lag sadly. Probably best to just wait for ra3 dude

Edit - Added the thread to the end of the gameranger thread. First merge I've done and was pretty scared I'd cause some damage :P

It's a realy good program :333 even if im now , i'v tried a lot of program to play w/ my friend to ra2 and it's da bast one so far '-' , (ps: and if you'r have skype , you can send your vertion of RA2 , oh and modify the ra2.cfg to be able to have modded part , and you can play w/ your friend w/ modded stuff , even with the pokaimon vertion :DD)

1. You need to be close to the person (same country) to have an atleast mere decent gameplay with minimal lag. And the chance is 1/20 to get it right.
