I respect Naryar. I respect him taking time out of his day to keep a small online forum in check, I respect his bluntness when he needs to rein in a flame war or something similar. I respect his contributions to Robot Arena 2, and how far he's managed to advance it. That doesn't necessarily mean I have to like him, though. He's fun in his own sinister way, and also slightly up himself since he got the GMod spot, but I still respect him. That's my standpoint.

I am aware of that. Sure the complete mess in offtopic that followed my ascension to glomod was funny (at least in my eyes, and I am convinced some other guys found it funny as well), but it didn't do much for my reputation as a mod. Now it is getting slowly better.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. Respect and fear ratings, like they are, are way too complex and not updated enough to be relevant. To make them relevant and good, we would need an artificial intelligence (no sane human would bother doing this for free) who would analyze every post done, the reaction of other people to every post done, and automatically increase/decrease fear rating with formulas. WAY too much of a bother.

I upped my fear rating since I got promoted, because by the definition of fear rating, having mod powers automatically increases it, since fear rating is the equivalent of being able to make someone shut up. (Roughly). I lowered my respect rating because I don't feel as respected as a while back.

I feel like we should change the respect and fear ratings to a literal scale. Like "None", "Very Few", "Slight", "Beyond Average", "Average", "Above Average", "Good", "Very Good", "Excellent" and "Maximum". With maximum respect rating being unique to Click and maximum fear rating to ACAMS.
