In my honest opinion this is an RA2 forum. Although many of us have lost our focus i think the awards should retain it.

However Best BOTM Winner is a great idea.
That's extremely neglectful. Much while I think that RA2 is the primary purpose of the site, it would be ridiculous to attribute no contribution awards to the non-RA2 areas based on that principle, especially considering how a bunch of the awards still present apply to other areas of the forum.

These are the GTM awards, not the RA2 awards.
Like what ? The only sections that are regularly active apart from the ra2 sections are the GCT, the rate one post one thread and Playground.

There is no award for posting the most obscure metal videos or having the most closed-minded opinion of music.

Let's not act as though intelligent discussion has never happened in those areas (well other than ROPO and thats mostly because no-one takes it seriously). For all the stupid stuff in Junkyard, decent discussions have occured in politics, and chatter has had plenty of stuff happen in it in which some level of dicussion was inherent.

And the point of that was? Both is it irrelevant and based on an assertion which you seem to have developed sheerly out of stereotype.

But yeah, I take the point, not enough of the right kind of stuff.

Can a person even show off on GTM?

The car thread.
Showcases, CADD section, almost every game thread, on very certain occasions playground...

Intelligent discussion may have happened in those areas but will anyone that was not involved which I'm guessing only a few people were involved in that discussion as the rest is mainly spamthreads actually want to vote on that or know who to vote for without sifting through the pages and pages of bullsh** to find intelligent discussion ?

Half of the awards are not about Ra2 anyways, so let's keep it like that. Just don't take it too far.

The majority are opposing the proposal so it won't be implemented. Simple as that. The list seems pretty good now, so I'll open voting tomorrow in case anyone else wants to chime in.

I think the best contributor for the non-RA2 stuff is kinda not represented at all with the current changes. How about "Best Debater" or "Best Contributor to non-RA2 discussion"?
Vote for Master Debater Nao!!!

Well, I backed down from that anyway when I edited my post. I can see when I go wrong, and I went wrong kind of epicly with that idea.
